I didn't realize that the spreadsheet was actually calculating stuff like that... and I didn't even see the second sheet!

My original post about the treasure spreadsheet was long and rambling and could certainly have been more clear.

The most important thing is to put your character's name or the word "Party" in the "recipient" column, which indicates who actually got the item. Later we'll put the word "Sold" in that same column for all items that you sell. You can put your name in the "claims" column to indicate interest in an item.

The spreadsheet does the rest.

Here's Valeria's post again so we don't have to keep referring to the previous page:

Okay... I just looked at the treasure list, and there are a fair number of goodies that don't seem to be claimed yet. We should decide on who's holding what before we start the next encounter.

Here's the non-monetary treasure that's listed as unclaimed:

potions of cure light wounds[/i0 (2). I would consider these party items, and people other than Val should carry them.

potion of mage armor
oil of bless weapon (I think Bellicus should have that one)
potion of cat's grace
scroll of knock Teral is the obvious choice, but he stayed behind. Val has Use Magic Device at +8. The DC to use a CL 3rd scroll is 23, meaning she'd need to roll a 15 to successfully use it.
everburning torch
smokestick
two doses of antitoxin (I'd consider this party treasure, but Val is willing to hang onto them.)
two flasks of alchemist's fire. (Elion has a claim in for one)
two +1 arrows

Also, Valeria expressed interest in the MW heavy mace and MW chain shirt; and Bellicus has expressed interest in the MW longsword and MW scale mail. Unless anyone objects, I'd say these items go to those PCs.

Valeria's mention of the starknife got me thinking, and I'd like you each to let me know a short "wishlist" of items that your character might like to see in the next couple of levels. I can certainly modify the treasure you get from the adventure to be more appropriate for the setting/characters.

In this instance I'm approaching loot from a wholly IC standpoint. Akshara doesn't have need of most things (weapons, armor, etc) but instead will eventully have a very specialized list of things she needs (outlined in the wishlist below) but will have to be taught the adventuring basics, since she's relatively naive.

She doesn't think to carry potions because she's never had access to them before, she doesnt' wear armor because she's not familiar with it, etc. Heck, she only reason she has the feather token is because she straight-up took it because it was pretty.

Within the next couple of sessions I figure it will become clear that Akshara is more than just a throat-ripping animal, but what comes of that (and how mechanically "optimized" she becomes) is largely up to the party.

Right now she could, in theory, use the chain shirt but the difference between it and her armor is pretty minimal (and her DR versus arrows and knives from her armor is pretty great at low levels) so it's not really all that important.

That said, she'll carry/utilize what people recommend to her.

As for what she'll need in the future, here's Akshara's wishlist:

I was recuperating from some outpatient elective surgery over the weekend, and had a lot of time on my hands, hence my Item Critique Thread.

The down-side is that I was even more loopy than usual when I was writing some of those reviews. Some of them now sound either more harsh or more stream-of-consciousness than I would have liked. I also might not have committed to do that little project if I'd been thinking clearly when I started on Friday. (Thank you, Vicodin!)

Unfortunately, my pace of reviews is going to slow way down now that I'm back on my feet (and in my right mind.)

Thanks so much! I also thought the disir was pretty awesome. Believe it or not, one of my urban monster ideas was a protective hearth spirit; I think Robert executed the concept better than I would have.

Sorry that the game has been slow--what do you guys think, should we go ahead and continue to the next round even with only 3 PCs posting? I don't really want to "take control" of anybody's character. But I certainly don't want the game to die out!

I know inactivity is the death of any game, so we should probably either have them delay or do something. Who are we still waiting on?

Can't fault Akshara/Robert for not posting much; RPG Superstar takes a lot out of you! And I know Leynus said he'd be pretty busy for a while. In order to keep things going maybe I'll post for folks if they don't post their actions within 48 hours of the GM post.

Just an update, I'm still here but busily working on RPG Superstar stuff. The round 4 deadline is Friday, so after that Robert and I at least won't have that looming over us any more. Let's try to pick things up a bit after Friday.

I think that a diplomatic approach might be best, backed up with force if necessary. I'm guessing that Yusdrayl isn't going to surrender without a fight.

Yep, that's what I'm leaning towards. I suspect we don't have many ways to make a fight between Meepo and Yusdrayl more even, so I'm good with Valeria's plan. Someone more diplomatic than Bellicus should probably take point on Plan A, though. (Which is to say, anyone else, Akshara included. ;) )
