Valeria's setlist, on Spotify.
You will need to set yourself up with a (free!) Spotify account, if you haven't done so already.
Some of these songs might run the risk of the singer getting hanged in Cheliax. (Notably the set closer, "Chimes of Freedom"-- I envision this as having been an Andoren song that was popular during the Revolution against Cheliax.)
On a slightly related note... I can't believe that I stayed up to 1AM doing this!
Yay! I appreciate it.

Looks like Spotify will allow play of 11 of the 18 songs in the playlist without logging into a Spotify account. You need to have an account to hear the full setlist on Spotify.
Here's the full list, with links to YouTube or MySpace for the individual songs...

(And if you couldn't tell, I'm a big fan of '60s & '70s British folk-rock!)

Thanks, guys. Somehow this character is just gelling really well. I haven't really had to struggle with a post yet.
I love the way you're playing Akshara. You're definitely sending a "cat" vibe with her: Val wants to give her a saucer of milk and scratch her behind the ears!

Agreed! Can't wait to see her fight something...
It seems like you all are done asking questions, so just post what you intend to buy here in the discussion thread - most standard gear is available and I will let you know about any exceptions. If you have any other questions or anything else you want to do in town, go ahead and post in the gameplay thread. I will post again later today with the next steps in your adventure...

Val will buy:
Cold weather outfit (8gp)
Winter blanket (5sp)
Bedroll (1 sp)
Common fiddle and bow (5 gp)
Spell Component Pouch (5 gp)
5 days of trail rations (2gp, 5 sp)
1 vial holy water (25 gp)
Cost: 41 gp, 1 sp.
Akshara
|
Anton: Possibly, and thanks for the offer!
@Mike: Given that this is close to the region Akshara is from (the Barrowood) would she be aware of any kinds of natural precautions she would have to take in the present season? Burrowing out a den, eating more to put on some fat-weight, etc. Or will general survival in her usual fashion not be too difficult at present. That'll help with her mannerisms, and likely inform Anton that she's making preparations for winter/may need to learn what cold weather gear/money is.

Since I'm not sure if there'd be holy water for sale here (the church of Asmodeus takes a dim view on that!), I'll copy most of what Val's buying, with some deviations.
Cold weather outfit (8gp)
Winter blanket (5sp)
Bedroll (1 sp)
Alchemist's Fire (20 gp)
Snowshoes (5 gp)
Cleats (5 gp)
Current Total: 38.6 gp.
Rations will be pending the mayor's response to my question.

I'm going to try to get the next big post up tonight but it might not happen until tomorrow morning. I am having a somewhat atypically busy evening!
Valeria Baladin
Mike: Based on Bellicus' comment...
Instead of holy water, I'd like to spend that 25 gp on powdered silver... so Val can make her own flask of holy water via the bless water spell at some point in the future.
She'll also spend an additional 3 coppers on a flask.

All of those purchases sound fine. That'll be one happy shopkeeper.
As for early winter in Cheliax, you don't have much to worry about in terms of snow and it will only really be "too cold" at night. Survivable but uncomfortable. Winter clothes would make sense. Akshara has survived winters in Cheliax mostly by finding some sort of shelter during the colder months. It's not quite at that point yet. Besides, you can always just cuddle up to Bellicus and freak him out.

Yeah, that would go well. ;-)
And if snow drifts aren't going to be an issue, I'll trade out the cleats and snowshoes for a vial of acid. My kit came with five days of rations, so I don't see any need to purchase any more at this time. That should cover me for now, I think!
Total: 38.6 gp (6 gp, 4 sp remaining)
Elion
Just for future reference Elion will share all information when possible. If he's going to keep anything secret I'll say so explicitly.
Elion has low-light vision so he can take one of the darker shifts. As for marching order he will tend to stay in the middle of the party unless there's a need to scout ahead.
Valeria Baladin
I think we should have three three-hour shifts to guard the camp. Val doesn't see particularly well in the dark, but she'd be happy to take the middle shift as well. That's when the stars are at their most lovely, after all.
I'd propose that a martial and a primary caster pair up for the first and last shifts, and the three remaining characters take the middle. Specifically...
1st: Bellicus and Teral
2nd: Elion, Leynus, and Valeria
3rd: Anton and Akshara
Alternatively, we could do four two-hour shifts, but then someone has to be on duty alone. I think that's less sound: there's more of a danger that a lone sentry could be taken out before calling a warning, or simply nod off. Plus, I'm not totally sure how much our characters trust each other yet: a lone character might be tempted to make a run for it.
Thoughts?

I will put a link to the current map in the campaign info so that it always shows up at the top of the page for each thread in the campaign.
Mike the GM
BTW I just realized that I posted my list on the wrong thread, sorry about that :-(
A crime punishable by... having to look at the gameplay thread for the most recent list.
Since five of you have agreed on Valeria's camp/watch plan I will assume that's what we're going with, but Akshara and Teral, if it doesn't sound good to you then just let us know.
I want to give folks some more time to post to the gameplay thread before moving on. Some of you may have guessed by the presence of a battle map that the evening might not pass without event. Or maybe I'm just trying to scare you. Or rolling randomly to see which square the pit to Hell opens.

I was just looking at the other PCs character sheets. Val seems a bit under-powered in comparison, but I deliberately designed her around her background rather than for statistical optimization. Let's see how she does in combat!
Elion
Flavor is more important than optimization. At least until I'm getting my but handed to me!
I'm going to be on a road trip from 8 June to 19 June. I should still be able to post at least once a day (wireless is everywhere, right?) but feel free to BOT my character if necessary.
