Houserules:

Houserules:

Casting: When casting a spell defensivly if you fail you do not automaticly lose the spell, rather you provoke an attack as you normally would for not casting defensive. If you are hit you must make a concentration check dc 10+damage taken if you fail this check you lose the spell.

Rolls:
Many rolls will be handled by the GM in secret.(don't worry, I don't fudge.)
Any result that can influence the character behavior will not be rolled open.
Rolls that will be handled by the GM:
Perception
Sense Motive.

if you make the check I will send you a pm or make a post and put it in a spoiler depending on the situation.

Sometimes I will roll Initiative others I will ask you to roll depending on the situation. In some situation (rarely) I will bypass init entirely and have you all go first and enemies second or have enemies go first and you all go after.

Combat rules:
I'm a fair GM, I dont roll combat in secret, I don't change results, I don't ignore bad calls from the characters.
Sometimes, character dies, but I'm not a player killer, if I think that an encounter will be easy handled, when it should be more challenging, I will make it a more challenging, if the party it's not prepared to face something, I will drop hints, if they insist... well killing one or two players never made me lack sleep...

Actions:
I'm a GM that do not punish the character for trying something new or cool, or even strange. Visual appealing actions are encouraged, the dc will of course depend on what are you trying, but you can try! If what you want to do is wicked cool, I can even bend the game mechanics to allow it! The most importat part is: You are villains. Villains are smart, resourceful and have style! Have you ever seen a memorable villain that could just swing his sword and do nothing more?

Posting Rate
If it could be done, I expect 1/day posting, if you can post more, it will really good.
During weekend, this rule does not apply. If you are able to post, great! But dont stress over this, everyone need some time to rest (In my case, I need time to play and DM :D on my tabletop games).

Level up
Aside from character creation, when you level up, if you want something not from core rulebook, you'll need to search it inside the game. basicly what you need to do is just show in game your character is searching for that knowledge. This rule is not meant to prohibit anything, I just don't like something like this: "Character always as a full caster, never picked up a sword in his entire life, and then he gain a new level and says: Master, I'll level up as a fighter now..."

Alderic apply the lifelink were it applies and everyone can heal from the channel. Skipping ahead to the next round. Sent Varn a pm about what he knows about the creature.

Raven, Aeron, Orlando and Varn take down the remaining cultist.

The creature lowers it head and charges Tessai but Tessai manages to avoid the gore from the creature's horns.

The creature then shift about causing it's shadow to intersect with Tessai's shadow and the creature's shadow becomes a copy of Tessai's.

Stepping back to let the other melee types into the fray, Raven rushes back to the west 15'. She knocks another arrow, this one also cold iron and fires at the strange fearsome creature. The creature is so fearsome that Raven can't find a steady bead and her shot flies wide of the mark.

"I have holy arrows and another of evil outsider bane, will any of those help us against this thing?" she calls to Varn.

Varn turns his attention back to the creature, taking several steps back away from it. "It's a peryton! They are evil creatures, but are not demons. The are weak against magical weapons, and beware their shadow ability. It makes you easier for them to attack." He snaps off another charges from his magical missile wand at the peryton!

Well normally you move at half speed while using acrobatics, but you can move at full speed by increasing the dc by 10. Usually you have to declare you are attempting at full speed before making the roll but that doesn't really work for play by post. Anyway I will allow it. Give the guy a break and all that :). As both of the creature's hooves connect solidly with Tessai, she flinches at the strength behind them, but there seems to be something more, as there is also an assault on her mind and will.

Raven steps closer to the monstrosity just defeated. She turns it over with her boot, "What is this thing?" she asks with a tone of disgust and revulsion. "It looks like a mutated deer of the forest."

Varn lets out a sigh of relief upon seeing the creature fall. "It is called a peryton. They are vile, evil beasts that loathe all living beings. They have a sadistic delight in hunting intelligent creatures and feasting upon their hearts. What one is doing in here... I do not know."

He then goes back into the first room where they encountered the cultists to exam all the scrolls and books for information, also checking for any magical auras.

Detect Magic and scanning the room with the cultists.


You find some potions on each cultist and the dwarf carries some magical scrolls but that is the only thing magical in room.

I re-check everything and Tessai should be at max hp -4 and lifelink ticked twice once before the channel and once after so Alderic should be at max -5. Orlando is at max. Also note that this place belonged to the crusaders the cultist were in the process of stealing these documents and stuffing them into bags when you arrived.

I peeked in the room the Peryton came out of. What did I see?


Bookshelves line the walls of this small library. Many of the tomes have been torn to shreds, and smoldering piles of ashes fill the room with an acrid stench. One book on a circular table seems to have escaped destruction.

The tome is a manual of war.

spellcraft dc 25:

Bound in bloodstained leather, this heavy tome is scarred like the flesh of a seasoned warrior and contains many generations of martial knowledge. Once per day, after studying the manual for 1 hour, a fighter may exchange one of her fighter bonus feats for another combat feat. She must meet the prerequisites for this new feat and she cannot alter a feat she is using as a prerequisite for another feat, prestige class, or other ability. This change persists for 24 hours, after which time the fighter's feats return to normal. The fighter may spend 10 minutes studying the manual to end its effects early.


Thanks for the clarification DireMerc - I was under the impression it was some sort of 'war room' already, where they were analyzing the troops movements and so forth - Tessai is more at ease then - as much as a Paladin can be ;)

I am assuming we are going to check this room, but there is no chance I could ever make that Spellcraft check.

Room 1

A long table engraved with a relief map of Mendev stands to the east in this long room. A dozen bodies lie scattered about the room, each bearing a gaping empty hole in the chest. Nothing of value here.

Room 4

Six cots sit in two orderly rows in this room. The bedding has been tossed on the ground, and an iron lockbox lies on its side, empty. A lidless box holds scraps of moldering food, while a pair of large barrels nearby look to be filled with water. Nothing of value here.

Room 6

Several stacked horizontal shelves hold a number of small, straw-lined bird cages. A stack of parchment, three quills, a pot of ink, and a pile of tiny cylindrical objects cover a nearby table, while a small wooden door is in one corner of the room. This is the Aerie, all the birds have been killed. Nothing of value here.

Room 5

The southern portion of this room holds a wide alabaster basin filled with bloody entrails. The outside of the basin is carved with images of warriors around a raised sun, holding longswords aloft. A flight of stairs ascends to the floor above.


Tessai offers a prayer to Iomedae when they come across the alabaster basin - "I cannot accept this..." - she approaches the gore spectacle, her eyes focused in the images carved on its outside - "I want to see this over" - the whisper escapes her lips as the tiefling turns back to her companions - "Let us continue onwards and take this to its closure, whatever it may take - things like these are shameful, and once the Garrison is cleansed of its invasors, we must unde this profanity" - her tone is somber.

"Raven, Orlando, do you wish to scout the path ahead, and up the stairs? Or shall me and Aeron take point?"

"Oh, for Cayden's sake..." Muttered Orlando, exasperated at Tessai's delay.
"Tessai! Dash some holy water on it and genuflect if you must, but we have to move!" He barked, tumbling into place to glance up the stairs.

"I think that the time for surprise is long past, Orlando," Aeron says as he dumps out the entrails.

"This desecration keeps Iomedae from her house and strengthens our enemies. At this point there is nothing to be gained from haste and perhaps something to be gained from a little caution."

With the room as clean as it is going to get at this point, Aeron nods at Tessai and starts up the stairs.

Raven takes a deep breath and falls in behind Aeron, her bow at the ready in case trouble appears ahead.

"I was thinking of stopping the enemy before he uses the wardstone fragment he has to destroy ALL wardstones, our armies and letting the worldwound take over Golarion besides!" Orlando whispered as he started to creep up the stairway.

You clean the altar a little and it magically fills itself with crystal clear blue water. The water glows and shimmers, then gives you a vision of a circular room and woman with an insect like arm studying the wardstone fragments. The view then extends out of that room, through area another adjoining room to reveal a fiendish minotaur guard there, and finally down the stairs to show you looking into the pool before the waters go blank.

Orlando creeps up the stairs and can see the monstrous guard.

Orlando eases back down the stairs to report.
"There is a large fellow with an axe..." He broke off at the sight of the glowing font.
"Holy Fermented Grain did that actually work?" He swept his hat off his head and glanced upwards worriedly.


"Too large maybe to take down quietly?" - Tessai comments, moving up the stairs after her companions.

"Hammer beats axe," Aeron says grimly and charges up the stairs.

Varn gathers of the scrolls and potions until their properties are identified... He gulps back his stomach as it attempts to empty itself at the sight of the bloody basin. He helps cleanse the basin with several castings of Prestidigitation to assist in removing the blood and gore. "I believe we may be close to the end... We must be very cautious." He suddenly remembers his scale from Terendelev and removes the artifact before Aeron suddenly charges up the stairwell. He uses the item to protect himself from electrical damage.

Using 1 charge on Terendelve's scale to cast Resist Energy (Electricity) for 190 minutes. Varn effectively now has Electricity Resistance/30.

Adalric assists the others in cleansing the basin. When his companions rush upstairs, he follows quietly.


Aeron charges up and find himself facing the demonic Minotaur.

The creature was expecting him and bellows a challenge as he arrives.

"At last! Battle! Come challengers show me your might!" he shouts swinging his enormous greataxes back and forth.

Varn quickly casts another layer of elemental protection over himself. Now protected against cold, Varn prepares himself to follow his comrades up the stairwell...

Standard Action to use Terendelev's Scale to cast Resist Energy once more, but with cold. Varn now has 190 minutes of Cold/Electricity Resist 30. 1 charge remaining on my scale for the day.
