Well yeah, but I was holding off on using skill ranks to put into a background skill/have ranks in background skills. So... Yeah

Some Synergy Building.
Our village supported and surrounded our monastery that posed as an orphanage. According to history, ninja training facilities also had a front or disguise. It could also be a monk monastery if we want to go that direction because a ninja's typical disguises were a woman, an old man, and a monk.
Team work feats besides Stealth Synergy, Outflank will be great for us. +4 bonus to hit when flanking and AoO for confirmed critical strikes by fellow flankers.
The Indescribable |
Ai, Ninja starting rules is basic ninja training that all members of the clan went through with some individual focus on personalization as shown by exotic weapons training.
Anderlorn, we will discuss what the village was like when the party is chosen.
Everyone. At some point I will simply announce that recruitment is closed and to finish up your characters in a certain time frame.
I will also be unavailable today because I'm hanging with my friend.

Well, a light load for me would be 33lbs or less. If I were carrying all the stuff from the two kits (sans torches), the armor, and weapons... That's 49lbs, which would be a medium load pushing speed down to 20ft, and giving a -3 penalty to rolls that armor check penalties apply to.
So, yeah, like I said, glad you don't care much about encumbrance or I'd have to drop my pack fairly often. Not that it wouldn't make sense to do so in most cases anyway, but still.
But yeah, when it actually matters, it matters. Trying to move heavy stuff, carrying around a bunch of loot, 100 potions... I know what you meant.

Name: Sutōn Fumetsu
Class: Unchained Monk 2
Age: 14
Personality: Sutōn is a stoic young monk of the clan. He is older than most surviving members and has less of a penchant for violence, not an aversion to it, but not a love of it either. He tends to be stoic and sees himself as a guardian and teacher of the remaining young ninjas. He shies away from the traditional Katana and it's sister blades in favor of the heavier monk staple, the 9 ring broadsword. Though he usually fights with his hands. The practicality and availability of Shuriken is enough to have him carry some.
Myth-weavers sheet I will run it into Hero Lab and put it on a profile if selected.
I am willing to take Stealth Synergy at 3rd level and outflank right after. I will probably take the dimension dervish chain of feats, and with outflank I can flank with myself.

I'd also be interested in this.
I would be looking at making a Kineticist. Either Aether or Earth. Aether would focus on subtlety and finesse at a distance and would take earth as secondary element. Earth would be the big guy of the group, a bruiser, yet still surprisingly stealthy and subtle. Bulk and brain.

Okay, so the 2 points I had saved for a craft skill will be going into survival and knowledge (dungeoneering). Which leaves me with... A feat that is tentative based on the party and background skills.
Also, just realized, my HP should read 15 not 16. I have it right on my character sheet on my computer, just a typing error. Can't just alter the post so... Yeah.

It was a warm and clear evening in the valley. Summer nights were Sutōn’s favorite. He should be asleep, as one of the initiate’s that actually performed the duties of a monk, maintaining the property, speaking to pilgrims, making food, he was a vital part of the front for his Clan. Instead of sleeping on his straw mat though, he was near the wall of the inner courtyard, where a clean and babbling brook worked its way through the compound. He was as he had been the last several hours, maintaining a handstand on wet river stone, slippery and offering little in the way of grip or traction, the exercise required him to maintain his balance perfectly and for weeks he had been attempting to master the one handed handstand. These exercises ended with him splashing into the stream more often than he liked to admit.
Maybe thirty yards away, a few Ninja, and several students practiced by torchlight on the raised sandstone dias. Many of the active ninja in the clan slept in the lower level of the monastery during the day and were active at night, so those in training adapted to their teacher’s sleep patterns. They were very quiet, the instructors spoke in low tones and the students performed their katas on padded slippers, only the sound of shuffling feet and occasional heavy breathing mingled with the night sounds of owls and crickets.
From his inverted angle, Sutōn could see Narumai on the wall above him, clad in all black, shortbow in hand. On the other side, Karro would be there in similar attire. Sutōn knew many more guards were on the outer wall and some even walked the path into the valley. It seemed dawn was upon them, a soft glow, peaked over the top of the wall. That couldn’t be right. Drops of liquid fell into the stream. Standing from his hand stand, Sutōn glanced around. There were no night noises, the owls didn’t hoot. The crickets didn’t chirp. That wasn’t the sun, the sun didn’t crackle.
The drips had been blood. Looking up in horror, Sutōn could see the bolt protruding from Narumai’s throat. As she died, she fired her bow into the courtyard, striking a warning bell with a clear ring. Within moments, armed men and women poured from the monastery, most in little more than night clothes, all had blade or bow though.
The first of them fell. Bolts rained in from all sides, striking his clanmates in the bottleneck of the entrance. The enemy was among them now. The clash of steel rang out and was soon accompanied by the screams of the dying. This was an enemy clan, who Sutōn wasn’t sure. But they were vastly outnumbered and he suspected, betrayed, as normally no enemy could infiltrate so far without raising an alarm.
Already, some of the elders had fallen, and Sutōn himself had barely survived an encounter with an enemy, who had only by chance been killed by an arrow from a clan member. As the compound burned, Sutōn tried to lead some of the younger children out through the small tunnel where the river ran through the wall. Once outside he saw that the outer wall was overrun and battle raged everywhere, the outbuildings all burned and cattle and horses ran about in panic. Staying low, he headed for a maintenance gate, leading the few soot covered children with him. Once through, they fled into the forest surrounding the valley. They would need to be in the mountains by sunup to be truly safe.
Hours later, the dawn saw only smoke and ash as he looked down from the valley edge, only three others had made it with him. His home still burned.

Hmm, in the event neither Stealth Synergy nor Team Pickpocketing are taken by another member of the group (assuming of course I'm chosen), that tentative feat will be Alertness.
Also, I know this is kind of a homebrew sort of thing, so... What are we using as far as months/days and such? I know that seems and odd question, but I figured I might do like a journal sort of thing to expand Valdis' backstory. Should I just use Golarion's? Also, what time of year (or what month) would we be starting in, and when did the attack on the village happen in relation to when we start?
Xelaaredn |
Keep in mind, I know it's not that great, I'm trying to think like a 5 year old at first and it didn't work. I'm thinking that last entry is either the year before, or right before the attack. (I'm fine with changing dates and such, left the year blank on purpose.) Really, I was just trying to give a bit of extra backstory as well as try (probably badly) to show a bit of his personality.

It's been a few days since I first arrived on the surface. It's stupid and I hate it. It's too bright most of the time and I miss my mom and dad. Mom said to wait for her, so I guess I will. The people here are alright I guess, one of the women gave this book and this pen.
14 Erastus 47XX
I've given up on mom showing up, they probabaly found her. One of the monks came into the village the other day and talked to the lady I've been staying with. I'm not sure what they said exactly, but it seems like I'm going to be going with them. The lady started packing what little she gave me a few minutes ago.

This is going to be great! I don't fully understand what they are saying, but it seems like they are going to teach me to fight. I saw some other kids using weapons in the couryard when I got here. Maybe I should try to learn their language, it seems like I'll be here awhile.
27 Neth 47XX
The kids are... nice for the most part, as are the monks. I'm learning a lot about weapons and fighting, and how to move without making a lot of noise. I seem to be accepted, though I'm still afraid to tell them what I really am. When Dastok found out -- I miss mom.
25 Kuthona 47XX
This white stuff fell out of the sky today, it was cold and fluffy, but when you went to touch it it turned to water. The kids are calling it snow. I think I like snow. Though... it hurts my eyes during the day, and it makes it harder to sneak around at night. I'm going to ask the monks for a set of white clothes for tomorrow night's training.
17 Pharast 47XO
I've decided to leave. One of the kids here keeps shoving me and making fun of it being hard for me to see during the day.
18 Pharast 47XO
I got caught. You would think the monks would have a harder time seeing at night than they do. I guess I'll just have to work harder at my stealth training. As for that kid, I'll just have to get better with weapons than him, that'll shut him up.

I can't believe how long it's been since I wrote in this thing, and the kinds of things I bothered writing down. Update: I still miss mom, but I can't really remember what her or dad look like anymore. I'm still having a hard time placing total trust in these people, but I do have a few friends now. We were asked to choose a few weapons to recieve advanced training in, and frankly I feel like they've become an extension of my being. Especially the tekko-kagi, something about the primal feeling I get while using it. I pretty much always keep one on me unless I am visiting the village, we're not supposed to show that we are more than mere monks.
Truth be told, the main reason I pulled this thing out after so long was to write about this girl. She's a few years older/younger than me, I think, and we've been training together for many years... but, something seems different now. I look at her and feel, different than I used to. Maybe I should talk to her and see how she feels.
