This is an evolution of my desire to run a criminal organization game. All Paizo classes are welcome. All Paizo material can be used if you give me a link.

Unchained rules used will be automatic progression, background skills, alternative poison and disease rules.

Preference will be given to characters who fit the theme of the campaign. For instance wizards geared towards stealth, but be mindful some classes I don't see working well such as barbarian or gunslinger. Prove me wrong! Any takers?

Still interested!

Will you redo a recruitment, or should we present characters here?

Where's the campaign being set?

Not sure yet. But you are free to post a concept. I'm very excited about this idea and want to hear yours.

The campaign setting is undefined. For the purposes of this consider it homebrew though you may see me steal famous Golarion sites like Sandpoint so I don't have to build everything.

Ya know i like ninja's and assuming the character i want to submit doesn't get accepted into this other game then i am totally interested.

Ps. Sword shooting stealth magus assassin...

Sword shooting?

it's a spell, my new favorite storm of blades. not the most effective but i like the imagery. basically you sacrifice a sword, blade or something and you magically shoot swords

What about an "ice monk"? He'd be a human of ulfen origins and racial heritage traced all the way to frost giants. He'd be an elemental ascetic hydrokineticist.

This sounds really cool, though I think it would be way more interesting and fitting as gestalt. We could be both sneaky ninjas and something else.

It doesn't sound like a character of stealth and guile. Convince me Archlich.

Ideally Ammon, you don't want to be seen. But that spell definitely has it's uses.

No gestalt. Sorry, I really don't like it.

well yea, she does stealth she is an assassin after all, shanking things with a Gladius is her forte. the shooting swords thing is strictly for when stealth isn't an option. not to mention the other thing is she usually carries like 4 to 5 different weapons on her person because i personally think that's funny enough to justify

Dammit. I just thought of the shadow shuriken technique from naruto. too bad it only works with swords

hehehe it does doesn't it. I got the idea from fate stay night myself, but yea it only works with swords, i guess daggers would count but still not shuriken

I'd be interested, maybe an unchained rogue with the new archetype from blood of shadows... Possibly a bit of chaokineticist thrown in there as well...

so long as you can link it and it makes sense Xelaaredn. Ammon. Just saying, but a a magus is capable of researching new spells just like a wizard.

Hmm, I don't think the blood of shadows stuff is on pfsrd yet. I might be able to send you a screencap once I get off work.

Would there be restrictions on race? Like... Would Caligni be a no go?

http://www.d20pfsrd.com/races/other-races/more-races/race-points-unknown/ca ligni

due to what I want to do with it. No long lived races. For instance, a dwarf or elf takes many decades to train probably as a result of physical and mental maturity. In a small ninja clan I see a training program like this being ridiculous. They need people they can field relatively soon, not next century. In the case of the Caligni though, they reach adulthood at twenty, so it works for me.

Like oyzar said, I fear the characters might end up too similar. Maybe at a higher level, or with options (you already said you don't like gestalt, but that's the type of option that helps create some identity in a game where all players follow some sort of standard, such as "stealthy type".

All classes can be played stealthy and still be dissimilar. With a few exceptions, like gunslinger.

There are many ways to differentiate yourself. Most notably through who your character is instead of what he is.

To those with ideas already swimming in your heads note you do not have to have been born in the clan. You may have been adopted into it.

There's another type of stealth that you potential ninjas might want to consider. Blending in. I've long considered a character designed around hidden weapons. Tube Arrow Shooters. Urumis, halfling rope-shot, rope gauntlets etc.

Blending in is just as powerful as not being seen.

hehehehe my favorite weapons, the hidden kind...looking at you blade boots

I'm also considering putting together a standard ninja package, Tengu are said to have taught the ninjas of old, so Exotic Weapon Training from them. and a reskinned Silent hunter giving everybody stealth as a class skill. If you already have one of those, oh well. What do you think? Or should I leave it to everybody to come up with their own routes to be sneaky?

I'll dot ... I know some people hate Geastalt but really in real life Ninja were trained better than Pathfinder Ninja. Personally I think Palladium's Book Ninja and Superspies created the best RPG Ninja that I have seen which may not necessarily be true for everyone.

As for Gunslingers, only Ninja that take gunslinging feats or if we did Gestalt, Gunslinger would work.

it's an interesting thought on one hand the package would make sense, and free things up for people to do there own thing so they don't have to drop resources on getting stealth for class skill and a free exotic proficiency would be just cool to have.

On the other hand maybe some people want to do it themselves idk,

all in all it really depends on you want things to be set up. if you want everyone to have some kind of training from the same place then it makes to much sense not to do it.

my vote goes for yea why not, it opens up more non stealth classes and allows for people to potentially be more creative.

Could you explain what you mean?

To clarify, I meant Ninja Trick > Rogue Talent > Firearm Training

Then take Amateur Gunslinger feat.

This seems really interesting. Thinking of making some sort of ranged Strix character-someone with a crapload of mobility who flits across the rooftops, picking off enemies.

I already know what I am going to make.

Question, would you accept a Catfolk Stalker (like this one)? I do have a ninja version of her prepped, but I feel like Stalker fits her vibe better. I plan on dipping 3 levels into Horizon Walker and going for the Dimensional Savant chain.

I'm put! Good luck, guys.

I assume you mean out. Have fun! As to the Catfolk stalker I will need to examine the class.

I'm up for doing this - with the Ninja class.

I'll go for the "ear to the ground, face in the crowd" idea.

What're your opinions on 3rd party stuff? I'd love to make an Unchained Ninja. Right now my plan is to make a Strix unchained ninja with a focus on ranged stuff. Also, what're the creation guidelines going to be?

The creation guidelines will be determined when I begin recruitment. When. Not if. I'm very satisfied with the interest. I am open to appropriate 3pps. For instance one of my favorite developers is Interjection Games. But I don't see many of their products working well in this structure.

I know this is a long shot but since it fits, I will ask ...

Would you allow this feats from Dreamscarred Path of War Expanded;

Katana Expertise [Combat]
Prerequisites: Proficiency with Katana
Benefits: Increase the damage die of katanas you wield by one die step (1d8 damage to 2d6). Additionally, you may treat katanas as light weapons for the purpose of Weapon Finesse.

I'm going to say no unless you can show me a similar feat from Paizo.

The closest is you can use an (Aldori) Dueling Sword and a Elven Curve Blade as a weapon finesse weapon but it does not increase the damage. Although the Elven Curve Blade is heavier than the Katana by 1 pound, it is considered a weapon finesse weapon which seems kind of weird to me since the Katana is built for attack and parry more so than an oversized Scimitar.

Well weapon finesse was not my problem the upped damage die was. However after rethinking it the definite 1 damage increase and potential 4 point increase isn't that bad. I will allow it. Provided you can give me a link to the feat.

Recruitment open!

Character creation guidelines

Races: No long lived races. See Elves, Dwarves, Tieflings and Aasimars for examples of what not to present.

Classes: All Paizo, be prepared to justify in some cases their ninja-y qualifications. 3PP allowed at my discretion 2 Levels.

Age: Young Characters

HP: Max first Half+1 for the rest.

Stats: 20 point buy. No stat under 8 after racial and age adjustments

Skills: Background skills will be discussed among the chosen group. You will need to be self sufficient in some areas early on. For instance black smithing to make your gear since a bunch of children buying large amounts of weaponry is somewhat suspicious.

Starting Gold: 50 Gold.

Gear: 1 kit appropriate to your class. 1 Gear Maintenance kit. These are emergency supply caches each member of the village keeps in case of situations like this.

Just to be clear, all eastern armors and weapons of the correct proficiency (Light, Medium, Simple, Martial etc.) you ARE proficient in.

Rules used: Alternate poison and disease rules from pathfinder unchained. Automatic Bonus Progression. Variant Multiclassing.

Ninja Starting Rules.

All characters add Ninja Sign Language to Languages known.

All characters gain Exotic Weapons Training as per the Tengu entry.

All characters gain Stealth and Perception as Class skills

These replace the standard two traits. You may take one drawback for one additional trait.
I think that covers everything. Happy crafting

My character will be a Half-Eleven Sorceress, Shadow Bloodline.

Any alignment restrictions besides probably crazy evil in which we kill each other off?

What does this mean? Can we only do 2 levels of 3PP stuff, or do we start at level 2?

On a related note, I'd like to make sure that the unchained ninja is okay with you. I'll roll up a character probably in the morning, it's getting quite late here. Thanks!

Just to double check, you do mean actually being young characters, yes?

So taking the -2 Str, Con and Wis, gaining +2 Dex? Not having more skill ranks than what is given at first level? Are we a size category smaller as well without extra adjustments?

Mainly wondering about the size part, as the only child pregen (Yoon) is like 8 (and a quarter) and is considered Small. Though, obviously the stat mods and skill matter as well.

Obviously the class restrictions aren't being used. :P

Too bad they didn't give Ninja Fighter Attack Progression ... :-(

Young characters yes. Start at level 2. No special alignment restrictions but remember your upbringing. You were raised to be loyal to the clan and it's members. Yes to Unchained Ninja and it's additional tricks. Any equipment in that book I should know about and look into?

Don't think so, I'm pretty sure that book contained just the crunch for that one particular class and its tricks.

Edited my post with a few other questions, sorry, I like knowing my constraints.

So you do not understand how much i've actually wanted to play as a young character...So i'm in, i'll have something together in the morning probably, it's about 1:00pm where i am and i should probably be sleeping
