In re Stealth Synergy ...

Not at this level, maybe at 4th or if you can convince the DM to make it free ... :-)

Actually I wasn't going to ask because I'm an obsessive researcher and had already discovered that. Which now sends me after the faceless men because I don't know that.

As to Stealth synergy. I think I gave you enough with the ninja package. No free feat.

Ok, I am changing my character's name to Darkshade but this is only a handle since ninjas usually operate with a disguise. She also has a real name that now she only knows since the Soke (Clan Leader or Grand Master), Shihans (Masters), Shidoshi (Instructors), and senior students were killed or presumed killed.

Game of Thrones

Roger

Okay, I'm not going research on Game of Thrones. What?

They are a league of assassins in the GoT series that are masters of disguise. In a setting of nearly no magic their abilities of disguise are considered wizardry. No one can keep them out and those who know of them fear and respect them.
On top of this is the general tool kit of an assassin, stealth, infiltration and death dealing. There are several events in the show that reveal even one faceless is a threat to behold.

Got spoilers:

Also it really is magic which is why they are so damned good at what they do.

So I'd take the general idea is the more physical aspects of stealth will be first in our build?

@Browman
I'm still considering what I want to focus on as a spellcaster/ninja. Well past my thematic desire of paper. However I can say stealth synergy is quite attractive.
Hrmm.. I wonder if a familiar can retrain a feat. I don't often do touch range spells so having my familiar take the feat as well would be quite useful.

Though I think a big ol' wasp might be fun for a wizard pet.

Also was it you who wanted to do cleric?

The Faceless Men:

"Valar Dohaeris". All men must serve. Faceless Men most of all."
―"Jaqen H'ghar"

The Faceless Men are an organization based in the Free City of Braavos, though their members range far and wide across both Essos and Westeros. They are reportedly a guild of assassins who command exorbitant fees, but have a reputation for success that is unparalleled by any comparable organization.

They consider themselves servants of the Many-Faced God, a god of death who is unknowingly worshipped by all religions in the world, in the form of one god or another. The weirwood Face for the Old Gods of the Forest and the Stranger of the Faith of the Seven are two such deities. Faceless Men shake off their former identities to serve death and become "no one" which allows them to become entirely different people, all in service to the Many-Faced God. They also believed that, as servants of death, they must serve above all else and that they must deliver upon certain people the "gift" of death.

The Faceless Men possess the ability to physically change their faces, shapeshifting so that they appear as an entirely new person.

Their headquarters are located in the House of Black and White, a temple dedicated to the Many-Faced God.

Beliefs

The Faceless Men are a cult of mystic assassins that worship the Many-Faced God, Death. They believe that death is a merciful end to suffering. For a price, the Guild will grant the "gift" of death to anyone in the world, considering the assassination a sacrament to their god. In the Guild's temple, those who seek an end to suffering may drink from a black cup which grants a painless death.

As the Faceless Men forsake their identities for the service of the Many-Faced God, they only assassinate targets they have been hired to kill and may not choose who is worthy of the 'gift' by themselves.

Think I got everything, if I've missed anything super obvious let me know.

There are many facets of stealth not accounted for by the skill. Staying out of sight, relying on invisibility, master of disguise, and simply looking like you belong are all viable strategies. I would suggest dedicating some points toward stealth. But it's not a necessity. Different strengths for different folks if you'll forgive the paraphrasing.

Here is my character sheet, ignore the II. Someone already took the name Darkshade so I had to add II to it or perhaps it is the same Darkshade ... <wink> ... <not really but it sounded cool>

Death Throes When a caligni is slain, its body combusts in a flash of searing light. All creatures within a 5-foot burst must
succeed at a Fortitude save (DC 11 = 10 + 1/2 the caligni's Hit Dice + the caligni's Constitution bonus) or be dazzled for 1d4 rounds. The corpse left behind is a third of the caligni’s size, withered and unrecognizable as the individual. Raise dead and similar spells cast upon these remains restore a caligni as normal.
Paranoid Anyone who attempts an aid another action of any type to assist you must succeed at a DC 15 check instead of the normal DC 10 check.
Student of Philosophy You can use your Intelligence modifier in place of your Charisma modifier on Diplomacy checks to persuade others and on Bluff checks to convince others that a lie is true. (This trait does not affect Diplomacy checks to gather information or Bluff checks to feint in combat).
Exotic Weapon Training You are trained in exotic weaponry. Choose a number of eastern weapons equal to 3 + their Intelligence bonus, and gain proficiency with these weapons. [Tekko-kagi, wakizashi, naginata, kerambit, rope dart]
Trapfinding A rogue adds 1/2 her level on Perception checks to locate traps and on Disable Device checks (minimum +1). A rogue can use Disable Device to disarm magic traps.
Finesse Training At 1st level, a rogue gains Weapon Finesse as a bonus feat. In addition, starting at 3rd level, she can select any one type of weapon that can be used with Weapon Finesse (such as rapiers or daggers). Once this choice is made, it cannot be changed. Whenever she makes a successful melee attack with the selected weapon, she adds her Dexterity modifier instead of her Strength modifier to the damage roll. If any effect would prevent the rogue from adding her Strength modifier to the damage roll, she does not add her Dexterity modifier. The rogue can select a second weapon at 11th level and a third at 19th level.
Weapon Finesse With a light weapon, elven curve blade, rapier, whip, or spiked chain made for a creature of your size category, you may use your Dexterity modifier instead of your Strength modifier on attack rolls. If you carry a shield, its armor check penalty applies to your attack rolls.
Evasion At 2nd level, a rogue can avoid even magical and unusual attacks with great agility. If she succeeds at a Reflex saving throw against an attack that normally deals half damage on a successful save, she instead takes no damage. Evasion can be used only if the rogue is wearing light armor or no armor. A helpless rogue does not gain the benefit of evasion.
Umbral Gear As a standard action while in an area of dim light or darkness, a rogue with this talent can coalesce wisps of shadow into a quasi-real, functional item. The rogue must choose whether to make a crowbar, 50 feet of silk rope, a glass cutter, a light melee weapon with which she is proficient, a reversible cloak, thieves’ tools, or a wire saw; the GM may allow other similar items. The rogue can use such items for a number of minutes per day equal to 10 plus her rogue level. This duration does not need to be consecutive, but it must be used in 1-minute increments.
An item created with this ability remains until the rogue is no longer touching it, or until the rogue runs out of duration for this talent, at which time it dissolves. A rogue can select this talent more than once, gaining an additional 10 minutes of duration each time this talent is selected. If a rogue has selected this talent at least twice, she adds 50 feet of silk rope with a grappling hook, a masterwork light melee weapon with which she is proficient, and masterwork thieves’ tools to the list of things she can create.

Hi, very interested in this.

Was thinking of a young human male, who was training to be a Monk (Monk of the Seven Forms). He was visiting family, when his village was attacked. After returning to the monastery, where he was training and found out his entire monastery was destroyed. Not know what to do, or where to go he searched for whomever may be connected to his now deceased clan, hoping to start a new life with them. He would continue training in the Seven Forms, in hopes that it would bring his both internal peace, as well as a means to maybe one day get answers for all the recent pain and heartache.

D 12+4=16
C 14-4=10

C 8

Weapons:

More to come later.

Been busy the past couple days but I managed to suss out a concept and build. I Invision her as the clan mother's daughter, the leader type. She knows everything about the clan and its history and will be determined to make it great again.

(I am aware she isn't your classical ninja but since we are playing child characters I figured my "Political assassination via the un-natural lust spell" concept would go over well. Besides with certain hexes she should be able to get the group out of situations where we are clearly out matched... Or... At least even the playing field.)

Hrm.. Not sure what to do with my idea now... I'll have to think about it.

Ai, please tell me more about your witch concept.

Ah, this promises to sate some of my long-standing desires. Dotting, assuming this is still open.

A question, will you be allowing players of any unchained classes to take archetypes? Some of my local tabletop buddies have differing opinions on this.

I do not mind fudging the rules a little. Bring me the class and archetype and I'll let you know.

If allowed, Unchained Rogue with the Bandit and Poisoner archetypes.

The idea is a charismatic, kitsune assassin type that takes advantage of surprise rounds, ambushing and poison to get the job done.

Everything is in the right place, Go for it.

Essentially the concept is to try and provide out's for "OH SH*T!" situations. Whether it's in a social situation or to keep us from a deadly combat. The slumber hex and charm spells combined with competent skills in deciet can help us if we need to make an escape unseen. And isn't that what ninjas are all about?

On the character side of things Ai is like a strict mother, she enforces the rules of the clan and tries to keep the tradition's alive. She has a stony demeanor when around the clan but likes to act like a normal child around outsiders.

I would also like to say the build isn't done, just a frame work.

I could tell that it wasn't done. Curious about your mention of unnatural lust though.

Its just a way to get someone to be seen as the bad guy if we are about to get caught. Its really hard to believe that the guy who was just trying to grope the 10 year old was actually being threatened by her.

If your uncomfortable with its use in this game though I can understand and will refrain from using it.

wow guy leaves for a few hours and this thread blows up

EDIT Should add Link to Profile Should be done in an hour or so. Her name is Ashling, and she is an emotionally stunted assassin/ninja

Oh I'm fine with it. I am now considering putting you in that situation specifically to laugh my ass off as it plays out.

EDIT: And you know what they say, making the GM laugh is always good. Unless it's Maniacal laughter. Then you're boned.

"Ooh, you're such a pretty little girl. Would the sweetie like a sweetie? Oh yes, how about some chocolate?"

"Oh, yes, please, kind sir. My mama and papa left me all alone, and I'm so very hungry. I know I shortcut to the candy shop. Through this alley."

"Oh ya, very good. Very good. My it is dark down here. Oh, but you are so beautiful. Such a lovely smile."

Cutting the last bit, due to her not being a vampire like Babette, but this was the first thing I thought of when the idea of using unnatural lust by a 10 year old girl was put forth, lol. Could be used to set an ambush as well come to think of it...

It took me two sentences to know what that was. And to be fair, pretty sure the guy babette got was a pedophile to begin with. Unnatural lust seems more Gabriella's style.

Oh most definitely. I'd be pretty surprised if most people she uses that on don't get a +4 on their save.

Oh Gabriella... why can't we marry you and save you from your fate. Aside from Babette she was the most interesting member of the Dark Brotherhood.

I like the unicorn story. I wanted to steal Astrid away though.

Yeah, I know how you feel. It's a shame more people weren't available in the game. I always just stuck to Brelyna since she's interesting and not exactly hard on the eyes. I fear I might be derailing things though... lol

Ysolda. Too bad you can't kill spouses like parents in hearthfire

Oh, you guys are talking about Skyrim, never played it and didn't really want to. Although, I am glad Fallout 4 is on the same gaming engine. The only downside to Fallout 4, it is a good game but not a good Fallout game. I can't wait until the GECK is release this month so Mod Authors can fix it since I am not sure Obsidian will have a chance to set things right.

Ammon Here btw

Everything should be finished, i'm just going through languages and picking adventuring gear type things. If anything's odd or out of order or i need to add let me know.

I need to let my idea percolate overnight. I should have something Tuesday, since I have a game to GM Monday night.

And remember to Deploy Xcom :-)

I think I will do Variant Multicasting (Rogue) too to make Darkshade more Ninja-like.

X-com deploys this weekend. They can't time travel so it doesn't really fit in a Dark Ages: Vampire campaign.

I would like to multi-class to ninja but don't want to set back my casting so it probably won't happen.

@ The Indescribable

Are you opposed to using Mythweavers for character sheets? Or would you rather us have the full profile here on Paizo?

@ Ai

I was just playing a game recently with a wizard of a like mindset. It was an interesting time, to say the least. :D Love the concept.

@ Anderlorn. You sneaky little bastard.

@ Xelaaredn. I contributed.

@ Ammon. Dammit, you made a Kakashi/Sasuke hybrid? I'm going to have to work to bring out your perverted side if you get chosen.

@ Arrathion. I prefer the highlights be on here. with mythweavers being secondary.

in all honesty i based her entire character off a picture i saw one time that i for the life of me can't seem to find.

she really is supposed to enjoy fighting and killing a bit to much, but i think i left that part out on accident. sort of supposed to emphasize the coldness and creepiness of her. Also need to add in how she has tendencies towards reckless abandon.

if we do wind up using background skills that will free up points for me to invest in her hobby of dancing and acrobatics.

@ The Indescribable

Ok, I'll set it up. I just have a harder time with the full profiles on here. Also, are you opposed to using the racial traits/abilities for the kitsune from EveryMan Gaming?

At Browman:
The Vampires would have a rough time especially with a team of Psi-Operatives, Avatar Commander, and Ranger. I was thinking of joining your game but I am not familiar nor have any of the resources for the game

You can do Variant Multicasting Even though there isn't a pre-made chart, I am sure you can work one out with the GM.

NINJA! OSU!

Yeah, damn Paizo! I would think there would be a Ninja trick in there but yeah, you are probably right.

Spoiler:
Players would be annoyed, but ultimately would win. Elder vampires would be inconvenienced for about 5 seconds.

It is unfortunate that there aren't a lot of good options for X-com RPGs.

Half the reason why I would want to multi-class to ninja would be the extra skills and class skills. Variant multi-classing doesn't do that. But if I could get a ki pool and some ninja tricks it would be handy.

Pretty sure there's a reason that didn't get a vmc, besides the fact Paizo basically said f!#$ the ninja. And that would be that it's an alternate to rogue and the vmc would probably be the same.

@ Arrathion, I'd prefer not.

@ Ammon, We ARE doing background skills. We will discuss which background skills will work best among the players chosen.

And why do we keep comparing Xcom to Vampire? Was there a massive thread derail in there?

The Indescribable wrote:

I think I misread something Anderlorn said to me.

No, that is why I had the spoilers but I will stop talking about it.

@Browman - Monk has some Ki but it is only for the 4th level ki and the more elaborate powers.

Oh... I thought you meant... So we are doing the background skills from Unchained? So I've got 2 more skill points to mess with per level (in theory)?

Don't really want the rest of the monk stuff though and rogue doesn't give access to rogue talents.

Yes but in Background Skills only.
