If it makes you feel better, nor have I. But 5e seems pretty user-friendly I think, just pick a class (and archetype if you want to plan ahead), throw in some stats that fit the class, and pick a background for your character. Once you do that, everything sort of just falls in place. You don't even have to pick a feat yet (unless you pick a Variant Human for your race). Your class and background even supply your equipment!

While I appreciate the offer, I will bow out I think. I'm not seeing anything other than Dragonborn that I'm interested in playing with 5th edition yet (although I have a limited view available on 5th so far), and you have already decided against allowing that race.

So have fun! I will be keeping an eye on the game as it progresses.

Ok Team we got a couple options in this fight...

A) Fight (only if Cass is not feared)

1. I can probably kill the swarms and damage hounds will need to take a 5-foot step forward and will need none of you adjacent to me.

2. I can attack everything except the swarms with a trump card (busts & hounds)
*kirzon we'll need your burst of radiance either way

B) (if cass is feared we retreat)

1. Run we can flee

2. Flee and try and fight the hounds only away from the busts.

let me know what you think or if you have an other ideas

Inactive

Can we tell if the busts are stationary? If so, maybe we throw up an obscuring mist to break their line of sight, and then we're fighting two yeth hounds, which gives us better odds. Lily might be able to entangle some of them, Kirzon would Burst of Radiance, etc.

F Changeling 3-Cleric(Eccl)/1-Sorceress /1-Bard | HP (+8)29/29(34) | Speed 30ft | AC 18, touch 12, FF 16 | Init +2 | Fort +3 : Ref +6 : Will +11 | Percep +7, stealth +8 | Active conditions: con -3, mage armor

That mist would a good idea.

WWttW PC slides | Player's guide | ♦ |Ghosts 5e PC slides

the busts do appear to be stationary

F Changeling 3-Cleric(Eccl)/1-Sorceress /1-Bard | HP (+8)29/29(34) | Speed 30ft | AC 18, touch 12, FF 16 | Init +2 | Fort +3 : Ref +6 : Will +11 | Percep +7, stealth +8 | Active conditions: con -3, mage armor

Ok Warrior team got beat by just 1 of these hounds.

Team Mage needs to fight 2 of these things and 3 other enemies. How much more badass are we is the question...

If you mist the Busts that just leaves the 2 hounds to deal with Kirzon. If Lili is able to disable one with the entangle. I think we can still fight this out.

Kirzon's play will be Obscuring Mist and move. Not sure if you want that before or after your action, Innis.

Not sure what to do with Boros, but probably will try to spread out just to avoid spider swarms?

Honestly, those who ran away might be the smart ones here, we'll see.

F Changeling 3-Cleric(Eccl)/1-Sorceress /1-Bard | HP (+8)29/29(34) | Speed 30ft | AC 18, touch 12, FF 16 | Init +2 | Fort +3 : Ref +6 : Will +11 | Percep +7, stealth +8 | Active conditions: con -3, mage armor

Kirzon blind the busts that was a great idea.

I've moved Boros to where I want him to be.

I'll kill the swarms and damage 1 hound so we have less to deal with your going to have to 5 foot step away or get blasted.

Inactive

The mist will mess up our line of sight too. But so it goes.

F Changeling 3-Cleric(Eccl)/1-Sorceress /1-Bard | HP (+8)29/29(34) | Speed 30ft | AC 18, touch 12, FF 16 | Init +2 | Fort +3 : Ref +6 : Will +11 | Percep +7, stealth +8 | Active conditions: con -3, mage armor

Oh I thought you could cast it away not centered on you, that's fine anyhow.

Lililinda heads off after her pusillanimous companions, pausing only to pick up a dropped glaive and falcata.

And so it comes down to Innis and Kirzon vs the world. Who would have guessed? And to think, the number of times I've tried to do you harm today it's rather quite hilarious.

Inactive

Hey, don't forget our stalwart animal friends, Boros and Cinder!

And some other creature(s) if Kirzon fires off this summoning spell. I was thinking Earth Elemental but I'm open to suggestions.

F Changeling 3-Cleric(Eccl)/1-Sorceress /1-Bard | HP (+8)29/29(34) | Speed 30ft | AC 18, touch 12, FF 16 | Init +2 | Fort +3 : Ref +6 : Will +11 | Percep +7, stealth +8 | Active conditions: con -3, mage armor

The Yeth hounds are kinda floaty an earth elemental would be at a disadvantage. Go with an air elemental if anything. Plus we got a keep it in theme can't let the Sorceress show you up. I called an aspect of the Storm Itself the least you could do is breathe life into the Howling Air.

Edit: Boros and Cinder are sidekicks though having them here does neatly represent each of our factions. The fight is likely going to be done before backup arrives I suspect.

fewer characters in battle WAY more dice rolled this encounter.

yes Kirzon it does

cool

Inactive

Woot!

Are the eagles smart enough to back off if I tell them to? i.e. 5-foot step away so Innis can fire off a Scorching Ray?

Reaping Stone Campaign: Under Cassomir

I think so you summoned them so they must have some rudimentary way to understand their summoner

Lili is feisty devil without Cass I didn't even want to fight that battle. I suppose it was going to end up that way no matter what all that fear, and a lot of crowd control on the enemy side with the swarms. I used all my aces so we'll hopefully we won't have to deal with something of that caliber for a while. Losing half the team is a hard sell.

I have a better idea for my spell loadout for tomorrow. This day was informative but I can only fight if you guys can keep each other safe.

Inactive

How big is the tower? Does it look like there are a lot of rooms within?

Inactive

@Innis--I'm politely poking you to check in on our 5e game!

Inactive

Need to figure out my spells for the day. Ideas?

F Changeling 3-Cleric(Eccl)/1-Sorceress /1-Bard | HP (+8)29/29(34) | Speed 30ft | AC 18, touch 12, FF 16 | Init +2 | Fort +3 : Ref +6 : Will +11 | Percep +7, stealth +8 | Active conditions: con -3, mage armor

your mist has worked wonders, i like the CC of burst of radiance.

I might like to see a burning sphere as we could use more ranged damage

Inactive

This may be a stupid idea, but what if I memorize Spider Climb x3 and we skip to the top of the tower? Can Innis also cast that spell (for some reason I thought you did so before).

F Changeling 3-Cleric(Eccl)/1-Sorceress /1-Bard | HP (+8)29/29(34) | Speed 30ft | AC 18, touch 12, FF 16 | Init +2 | Fort +3 : Ref +6 : Will +11 | Percep +7, stealth +8 | Active conditions: con -3, mage armor

I had magic slippers that could do it. Unfortunately I am no longer in possession of them.

its an interesting plan...

Kirzon you probably wouldn't need to memorize spider climb x3

just 1 spider-climb + ant haul and get Cass carry us all up, via ropes

You could wild shape and just fly.

shes got a 20 str score with the belt on so she should be able to manage.

Inactive

Okay, if we can't get the party up there, not a good idea.

F Changeling 3-Cleric(Eccl)/1-Sorceress /1-Bard | HP (+8)29/29(34) | Speed 30ft | AC 18, touch 12, FF 16 | Init +2 | Fort +3 : Ref +6 : Will +11 | Percep +7, stealth +8 | Active conditions: con -3, mage armor

Kinda hinges on how cheat proof this tower is are there literally no windows at all @GM?

Female Elf Inquisitor (Preacher) 2 | HP 18/18 (Fast Healing 1) | Speed 30ft | AC 17, touch 13, FF 14, CMD 15 | Fort +3 : Ref +3 : Will +5 | Judg. 1/Day | Sud. Shift 5/day; Determ. 0/day | Init +7, Per +6, Sense Mot. +7 | Note:

Merelda sends Cinder to scout the tower looking for other entrances.
CAREFULLY.

WWttW PC slides | Player's guide | ♦ |Ghosts 5e PC slides

This is what you see (italics added by me):

This tall hexagonal tower stands at the edge of a large mist-shrouded subterranean lake. Constructed from irregular-sized blocks of a strange dark green stone, the tower seems to have no windows. A single open archway set at the ground level appears to be the only means of entry.

Inactive

Proposed spells:

2nd: Aggressive Thundercloud, Burst of Radiance, Burst of Radiance
1st: Acid Maw, Feather Step, Liberating Command, Obscuring Mist
0th: Detect Magic, Guidance, Light, Stabilize

Happy to go to the tower now.

Female Elf Inquisitor (Preacher) 2 | HP 18/18 (Fast Healing 1) | Speed 30ft | AC 17, touch 13, FF 14, CMD 15 | Fort +3 : Ref +3 : Will +5 | Judg. 1/Day | Sud. Shift 5/day; Determ. 0/day | Init +7, Per +6, Sense Mot. +7 | Note:

While a I appreciate the Burst of Radiance x2...It might be more useful to take one Bull's strength or Barkskin instead. Especially if whatever we face is magic resistant? You can cast it on one of us or Boros as well as needed.

Inactive

Sounds good, Bull's Strength for one of the warriors as appropriate. It's also useful when the enemy happens to not be evil (e.g., those damn raptors).
