Lanarial smiles and flourishes his hand, producing the dancing lights once again and sending them to ring the party as they talked. "Yes, half-sister, we are the light. You are welcome to join us but be warned that we are infected with some sort of disease from our initial contact with this cult. Even Nhilune, an accomplished healer, can not identify nor cure us of this affliction. So we must press on quickly to discover what is causing it and how to cure it."

You continue heading down the tunnel and quickly come to a room. As you enter this large cistern chamber, the reek of the sewers is immediately dwarfed by the dreadful stench of rotting carrion. The odor seems to emanate from a huge mound of decomposing, grey-green flesh piled into in one of the corners. A 5-foot long, half-eaten tentacle protrudes from the appalling carcass.

Despite her weakened condition, Amigail fights back the nausea threatening to weaken her further.

Nhilune watches the new comes curiously, giving a small wave at her should she look Nhilune's way.
As they carry on, picking up yet another person affected by this underground (literally) cult, Nhilune tries to weigh put what she has left to offer. She had one protective spell for herself and not much more. How long would this night last?
A lot longer. As they entered the area the smell set Nhilune to sicking up. The sight didn't help ease her nausea either.
"What would be a sewer without bad smells..."Dargorath complains. "Now I know why I spend most of my time out of cities..."
Elliana looks back only briefly at her sick companions, We should be careful, there signs of undeath
For a moment, Lanarial thinks he will be able to get past the reek in this room, but Nhilune's vomiting causes his sympathetic detonation...the only positive thing being he had nothing left in his stomach to heave up.
Nerves... the stench... the others vomiting...all proves too much for the Halfling... who also empties his stomach.
Moving deeper into the room you hear a loud squeal echo off the walls off this room. Off to your right you see a makeshift bridge connecting one platform to another and you watch as two dog sized rats scurry across it their beady red eyes focused on you.
ROUND 1
The two rats from bridge scamper across the paved floor and attack the party. At the same time you watch another two rats come around the corner from the north tunnel bounding for the party.
A rat sinks its teeth into Nhilune's leg.
Abother rat is able to take Amigail unaware and bites her.
"Nihlune, get back!"Dargorath yells as he steps up and sends an arrow flying at the rat."Mind what I said earlier and get out of the way if you don't need a clear line of fire."
The arrow takes the rat right in the back but it remains up ready to tear into Nhilune again.
Elliana tosses the torch aside, gripping her scythe in both hands
With a sweep of the scythe Elliana misses the rat as it easily ducks under the large weapon.
Ami grunts as the rats get the drop on her and one manages to bite through her boot. Not feeling very confident about her damage output lately, she opts to try to kill the rat Dargorath wounded.

Amigail extends too much as she attempts to kill the wounded rat and misses with her falcata.
Alledueces begins to sing his song... inspiring confidence in his allies.
Lanarial will swap places with Nhilune, swinging his masterwork longsword to attack the rat Dargorath injured. Unfortunately, his weakened condition and the cramped quarters impacted his aim...
Unsure of what she should do Nhilune makes no action. The rats having tasted blood show no fear and continue to attack Amigail and Elliana.
Elliana one rat is able move in and bite you before you can react.
As the battle commences you quickly form into two lines hoping to shield your less armored companions from the bites of the rats. Quickly Lanarial positions himself in place of Nhilune and with your attention focused on the rats you are caught off guard when a swarm of rats burst out of the decaying glob of flesh in the corner.
They swarm over Dargorath as they pile out ripping at his clothes and biting him.
Lanarial slices too short allowing the rat to easily move away from the errant swing.
"Get them off me!"Datgorath yells as he takes a step back and fires into the swarm of rats.
Elli focuses on the rats in front of her
Dargorath's arrow is able to take a few of the swarm out but does not do to break it up. Quickly Nhilune says her incantation to prepare for the swarm spilling over to her.
At the front of the battle Elliana swings but is unable to hit the rat.
Amigail grits her teeth and hacks at the wounded rat to her north, hoping to get at least one set of gnashing jaws out of the fight.

The falcata finally finds it mark cleaving off the side of the rat's head.
The mage casts mage hand and starts flinging rats from the swarm into the sewer as quickly as he can!
The effects of Alledueces song continue to linger as he pulls his dagger and attacks athe rats.
Alledueces dagger stabs and skewers several rats while Lanarial pitches a rat with his mage hand.
ROUND 3
The swarm continues to scurry out of the dead flesh filling more of the area and begins to bite at Alledueces.
The rats in the front attack again but this time they fail to bite anyone.
Dargorath sends another arrow into the swarm of rats.
"Is there any faster way of dealing with these little vermin?"
"If only we'd brought a wheel of cheese from the tavern!" Amigail shouts to Dargorath with a grim smile as she tries to take out a second larger rodent .

The arrow disperses some of the rats as they crawl over Alledueces biting the young halfling.
Amigail hacks down with her falcata with such force that it sends the back half of the rat flying into the shadows instantly killing it.
Elli swings more fiercely, go away, vermin
Another rat dies at the sweep of the scythe.

The effects of Alledueces song continue to linger as he tries to skewer a particularly large rat with his dagger.
The lights dance around making certain that the party is able to see all the hungry rodents...it makes your skin crawl.
You do notice that the swarm of rats do seem to be getting smaller however there are still at least a hundred of them.
With more rats swarming, and his colleagues too close for another vial of alchemist's fire, Lanarial draws his masterwork longsword and steps in to the gap and swings away!
Lanarial sword cuts a swath through the rats and you watch as rats - alive and dead - are thrown about. You can see the swarm slowly breaking apart.
ROUND 4
The swarm turns and begins to bite at Lanarial and Alledueces.
The two dire rats still continue to attack Amigail and Elliana. Amigail barely blocks the rat with her buckler while the other rat unexpectedly jumps at Elliana sinking its teeth deep into her shoulder before it drops back to the floor.
Elliana swings fiercely at the rat that just attacked her
