If you folks wanna get rid of the numbers next to your discussion/gameplay thread, just click on first which you all know takes you back to the beginning of the thread.
Once you make it back to your Campaign page again, it'll be gone.
Just fyi in case it bugs you. 'Cause it bugs me. Just sayin'.

Yeah, bugs me too - I figured out that if you click on "gameplay" or "discussion" rather than on "(x new)" on your campaing tab, the "(x new)" vanishes too.

Did... you just laugh at him reiterating your joke? (It's a good suggestion. I like it.)
To be honest, it was the "Brilliant!" part. It reminded me of This commercial.
It's just a great commercial. It makes me laugh. I don't know why I find it so funny, probably because I'm a freak like my wife keeps telling me I am, but what are ya gonna do? *shrugs* :)

By the way, the item that made Bunky go all gigantic damage on Bobb was some kind of special item that Karek received along with the rest of the party, correct?
Any idea what item it was that Breach got? If I recall correctly, Max copy and pasted what it was he claimed within the ooc or game thread, I'm not sure which.

Gandel |

All that was stated in the IC thread was that it was an eyepatch. The previous Breach player had left by that time, so the eyepatch's powers were never revealed IC.
OOC: For the Star Tribe treasure, Breach calls 'dibs' on a jeweled eye patch!!!

Pact Stone GM |

Yeah - I still owe Breach a magic item!
In other news, I've noticed that an unseen servant from a 1st level scroll has a range of only 25 feet. (I think I considered the range of danging lights, not unseen servant.)
Since it originates from Moonpate, with the current marching order, Anyo would only be 10 feet ahead of Karek and Gandel, not 40 feet. Since the duration is almost over anyways, let's just keep it at 40. . . but good to know for future reference.

Mr. Exciting |

So when are we going to get our rest/leveling in? We want to get out of the shaft first? Resting on the far side of the bridge would give us a good position for defence if the devil monks come pouring in behind us. but we'd also be [I think] sitting next to the unknown room ahead of us and it would be unexplored. I still got tons of spells left, and there's no more injuries, but the clerics are getting light, no?

Hurgah the Reaver |

Hurgah is probably the one who needs a rest the worst, but he's good to go for a bit longer.
As much as I'm for leveling up, I also think we should try to make it fit with the progress of our exploration. "Geeh, we've been here for all of 30 minutes and gone down this straight corridor, we'd better stop take a nice 8-hour nap" is just a bit too metagamey for my taste.

Moonpate |

In fairness, some of our number hadn't slept at all the night before, and then ran most of the morning. So I don't think it's that unrealistic within a storyline to give them a bit of a rest.
I think it would make the most sense to make sure the chamber in front of us is secure before resting, so getting that place explored should be a priority before some of us collapse.

Ah yes KQ. I always looked at it but never picked it up. I have so many back issues of Dragon I have never gotten to I just never saw the need for it. It is too bad that the mag was canceled though. I was certainly extremely disappointed when Dungeon and Dragon were cancelled so I know what that is like Beetle!

Heh - don't get me started on that old wound. I am certainly glad Paizo made such stupendous lemonade, but I was a raving fan of Dungeon and will always miss it.
Javell DeLeon |

I think it is great, not world bending great, but enough to suck me into a black hole. I'd say people who don't like ti probably just suck at it. I ain't no newb to these kinds of games. YMMV!
Cool. Thanks!
@Flame: Yeah, haste just rocks.

Pact Stone GM |

Ya know, way back when, the relentless optimizer in me cringed when I saw that Haste was not among Jason's spells. I don't think I said anything about it, though. I think I was very good.
-
Ooop! My bad - I totally got that backwards. I thought Jason had taken haste. But it was slow he had. While I'm a haste man myself, after the initial battle with the splicer beast in which Belleson's slow was quite possibly the game changer, I had a better appreciation for it. I think slow is quite decent if you have lots of opponents to effect and they are appropriately close to one another. If it lines up right, it could be even better than haste. I just don't think it will happen too too often. But when it does, look out.
Anybody remember the original haste spell in 3.0 before they corrected it? Those were the days.

This is RPG Superstar, Mr. E.
Jace finished Top 16 last year. He can tell you all about it.

Jacob Trier RPG Superstar 2012 Top 16 |

Hey! It's Superstar season again already.
May we dust off the pom pom's for our very own resident ranked competitor?
You in this year Jace? I know a repeat is statistically a pretty rough go for anyone, but your Wondrous items are pretty damn choice.
You bet your emerald exoskeleton I'm in again this year, Beetle.
I already got one item ready for submission. Deadline is Dec. 18th, so I'm using the rest of this week to see if i can come up with anything better.
I strongly urge any of you to try it - it is damn fun. And this year, they have public voting before the judges even see the items. Talk about a game changer. Very exciting.

haste vs slow is a debate that really applies to all buffs vs debuffs.
With buffs, you eliminate much of the chance element - you cast it on yourself or your buddies, so you know exactly how the numbers apply, and there is no save to worry about.
On the other hand, a debuff is usually a lot more situational - in some cases, you end up wasting a valuable action and spell slot because the target makes their save, are immune or whatever, but in some cases, it is a win-button because it shuts down the enemy to a degree where they can't effectively fight back.

Phrip |

Original? Heck, I remember the 1974 version...now thems were the days sonny; back when dice were marked with crayons, elf was a class, and a feat was having your wizard survive more than one encounter.

Pact Stone GM |

I still have my dice that I had to fill in the numbers with crayons...

Awesome. My first blue box (pre-red box) didn't even come with dice (I think - maybe they were lost). Took me a long time before I figured out I needed a D20. We made up quite a lot initially. Strangely, in some ways, the game was just as fun.
Looking it up, I think I began with a 1981 re-print of the original 1977 version, the one that came with Keep on the Borderlands. Though my literacy would have been pretty limited, so I wouldn't have began quite that early.
And it definitely wasn't 1974, so Phrip's got me beat.
