"Puny dwarf will heal Hurgah, or Hurgah will teach puny dwarf the true meaning of fear and pain!"

This is why the half orc should be in a cage and just dropped on our enemies from a doorway. These foul things are smelly and obnoxious and that's just the human side!

Awesome! Very excited to be chosen.

I'm going to go with Hurgah. . .

Yeah, I just want you in this Jace. Your previous posts are pretty stellar. While the other character concept might be a better fit thematically, I really just want you to run whatever makes you the most jazzed to play.

Hurgah certainly is a terror. I can foresee him finding some parts of the adventure a bit "target poor". But he will come in more than handy in others and I have faith you will be able to make his persona shine in the meantime.

And to start with, give some thought as to why this terror from way way to the North will be answering a private call to adventure from a Pathfinder Venture Captain. One possible option is: he isn't - he's a tag along to another PC. Anyone want to adopt Hurgah? : )

Dwarves represent. Good stuff. . .

Most def. There are three dwarves in this. It will be important for the players to find ways to make them standout from one another. One's looking to destroy something dark, another likes to build traps and one's looking for his Ma. I think we're off to a good start.

Thanks for selecting my character Pact Stone. I have a lot of his stats worked out, so it shouldn't take too long to create a profile for him.

Super - looking forward to seeing Jason all suited up.

Ooh. That is a dangerously tempting offer. My mind is already abuzz for a way to put Karek and Hurgah together. Since I probably need to tag along with somebody as well, it may be a bit impractical...

In other news, I have an alias. I had some information written in last night, but the server timed out or something, so it's not there anymore. I have all the most relevant information in a jumble on a piece of paper right here, and I'll be adding it in between answering reference questions today. I do like to save some fine-tuning choices until we know who all is in the party.

As far as differentiating dwarves goes, I have just one question. Do you consider yourself an axe dwarf? Or a hammer dwarf? Only one is correct, and that one involves smashing things into a bloody pulp.

I'm looking forward to reading along with this one. I'm in PbPs with a couple of the players you selected, and I think you are in for a really great game!

Thanks for the praise.

I agree that Tarik might be a better choice from a viewpoint of pure party composition and thematic fit of the character concept, but I'm a bit worried that I would play him a lot like Casimir in Alexander's Kingmaker game. That, and I just fell like being the guy who is pretty much only in the party to tear people's face off.

I have no problem with Huragh hanging back while the more socially skilled members of the party do their thing. My other games already keep me plenty busy, so not having to write page-long posts of eloquent dialog is probably not a bad thing. But don't worry. I'll definitely make his persona shine through.

As for a connection to the Pathfinders and the Venture Captain. Well, as mentioned in the background, Hurgah came to Osirion at a very young age, and knows the area very well. He has been on his fair share of tomb raids, and by now he would have developed a bit of a reputation as reliable and highly effective hired muscle. He would also have established contacts with several adventurers, and while he would not call them friends (Hurgah don't have many friends, even with his decent charisma), he considers them useful allies and vice versa. This could be any members of the party or a Pathfinder NPC who recommends Hurgah to the Venture Captain.

Hurgah would certainly be intrigued by a summons from a Venture Captain, as he knows Pathfinder missions often involve both the accumulation of treasure and the uncovering of arcane secrets, both of which he desires. His personality is slowly, but surely taking on more and more draconic aspects. For instance, he has already begun gathering a small hoard, represented by his various magic items, as well as a minor collection of jewelry and gems.

Other than that, Hurgah is pretty much ready to rock and roll. His full stats are in this profile, including argumented stats for buffed combat. His routine will be to cast Mage Armor at the start of the day, and refresh as needed. Once combat breaks out, his first action will be spent casting Enlarge Person. He then enters Rage, and after that, you'd better get out of the way. The claws and bite come out whenever he has the chance for a full attack, with Power Attack and Arcane strike boosting damage, and Cornugon Smash scaring the crap out of anyone left standing.

Fun times ahead. :-)

I'm more than willing to "adopt" a character that needs a reason to be coming to the call of a pathfinder...them being rich and famous and all;)

Bluff Roll to sway the minds of other characters
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (18) + 13 = 31

"Can one of you, strong, powerful men aid a helpless lady to reach her destination, I am going to meet a pathfinder Venture Captain in the far North, and am needing a big strong body guard."

*makes coy smile and kissy face*

We now have a Game Discussion Thread!

I'll harang you about your PCs over there as well. Woohoo!

Ya, I re-read Hurgah's origin and see I missed his early move to Osirion. We can probably call off the adoption papers there guys. But thanks for stepping up Karek and Thalia. We can probably let Hurgah's rep speak for itself.

That is one dangerous Bluff mod. (And it's not even maxed out!)
