Campaign beginning with 2nd level multi-class PC's. Takes place in a wasteland. PC's are asked to provide security for a caravan heading to an industrial and trade center. Homebrew to follow RAW as closely as possible. I am an inexperienced GM, so looking for patient adventurers. Unique and exciting characters will be given preference.

25 point buy, medium XP track, mythic tiers after level 5.

Verrin tries to move to where he can strike at one of the wolves threatening the archers. He shouts and stomps to try and get its attention before stabbing it.

Lilly escapes the maw of the beast while Silvash is not as lucky.

You forgot the crit damage on me. Which will drop me as I only have 6 after the first part of the damage.

For the trip, you roll 1d20 and add the creatures CMB. If the result beats our CMD we are tripped. Don't bother for me as I end up on the ground anyway due to damage.

Narrowly managing to avoid the wolf dragging her to the ground, Tress uses the beast's momentum against it and slashes it across the face.

Attack of opportunity. Swift action to use a pool point for +1 enhancement. 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26 for 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 damage. Crit threat! Roll to confirm: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25 for 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 damage.

Provided the wolf is still standing, Tress coldly chops at it again, trying to break the wolves' attack pattern. Her blade, already coated in blood, shimmers and glows redly. "If anyone has any healing to spare, I could use it," she says out loud.

Did none of the wolves provoke attacks of opportunity when they came in to attack the others?? I thought for sure they would since I positioned myself between them and the rest of the party.

Here are some AoO rolls if you want to retcon any of them in--not sure if I misunderstood something or how many would ahve gone by me. With Combat Reflexes I get up to 3 AoOs/round

Glaive AoO 1 - Take Higher d20 roll: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 31d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22

Ibrah changes the focus of his judgment, determined to strike down one of the wolves. Swift Action to change to Justice Judgment for +1 Sacred bonus to attack rolls.

Seeing Silvash go down to the Orc's attack, Ibrah tries to stand near him without getting too near the wolves. Move action to reposition.

He strikes at the orc standing next to Silvash's body.

So Ibrah is standing adjacent to Silvash, 10 feet away from the wolf on the other side of Silvash. If the orc tries to come closer, Ibrah will get an AoO.

Bit of Luck has expired now, unfortunately, as it only has a 1-round duration.

Tress:
Your +1 enhancement should last 1 minutes, which is 10 rounds. You should not need to use it twice in one round. Besides, you only get one swift action per round, and it must be on your turn. A Swift Action that can be used at any time in the round is an Immediate action. So I think your AoO is un-enhanced, unless you already enhanced it earlier in the fight (didn't I already see you do that?).

Tress, you don't don't do anything to defend against the trip attack. He has to roll the trip and beat your CMD of 15, which there is a good chance he will do as he only has to roll 7 or higher (based on dire wolf's CMB of +8). If he does beat it you go down and aren't able to attack.

My mistake. I didn't keep track of who cast defensive spells earlier except for Khartelosch who cast Protect from evil, which doesn't apply here.

I do have mage armor up put it didn't matter as you were well over my AC with the wolf attacks.

Tress is dropped as well as Silvash. She is attacked by an adjacent wolf.

Ibrah halves the escaping orc and then safe guards Silvash's barely conscious body.

The ground begins to quake slowly as the melee continues.

Seeing Thaane and his new friends in fighting desperately for their lives, he flies above swooping down to precisely bomb the wolves.

As the smoke clears, Laholm lands. He remains in his morphed state of part eagle and part human. His feathers are a shiny black, but his hair is the purest white.

Laholm grabs a wand from his sash and hands it to Lilly.

I think that you will need this, he says to her.

He hands her a wand of CLW with 30 charges.

If it doesn't state a crit you assume 20/X2. You already confirmed the crit so you just need to roll the damage again, in this case 1d8+6.

Combat: Critical Hits (PRD):
Critical Hits: When you make an attack roll and get a natural 20 (the d20 shows 20), you hit regardless of your target's Armor Class, and you have scored a “threat,” meaning the hit might be a critical hit (or “crit”). Thaane ignores Laholm, drops his eerie cloak of darkness and begins cutting the head of off the last orc, the one that was not mangled by the wolves. He grabs it's spear and thrusts it into the neck of the head, so that the head rests on the short spear.

Silvash staggers to his feet and looks around Whaa...at happened. Last thing I knew I was a wolfs chew toy. And who are you three strange ones? As he looks at Ibrash, Thaane and Laholm.

He then looks at Tress on the ground and says Where are my manners? He reaches a hand to Tress to help her off the sand. I bet that wasn't your idea of rolling around in the sand.

As Laholm begins to speak, you see a gigantic mechanism with a central flue pouring out smoke as it slowly moves towards the party.

Thaane and I are both human. We both suffer from curses. Thaane was born with his. Mine was given to me by our mother. A power. ful dweomer that forces me to stay within sight of Kilm, my home . He points to the slowly moving enormous mechanism.

My blood contains a curse. Set upon me by Zon Kuthon. I have never died, but often my body acts like it has. My blood is acidic. Magic that normally heals others, hurts me badly. There are however some advantages.


The grind begins to shake again, but only for a few seconds.

Lilly nods in agreement as Khartelosch speaks. "We signed contracts to guard and guide the caravan through the wasteland. We need to get back to it and appraise them of the situation."


I understand this. I have been watching. You can get a quick repast and I have some items that will make your journey less cumbersome. The worm will not go near Kilm.in an hour or so you can return to your caravan with a scouting report and some additional information about the east. It seems that your caravan is now heading in that direction, no?


Besides, Kilm will take you in the direction of the caravan while you rest. Your mounts will enjoy the confines of our stable and you will be safely within a mile of the caravan.

Thaane. Laholm gently beckons him to follow quic. kly to Kilm.

The ground quakes again as Kilm draws closer to the party. Ripples in the sand appear about 1000 feet away. Kilm squeaks as it moves ever so slightly across the desert terrain. It's portcullis appears as a mouth in the front which opens like a hinged mandible to let the adventurers in. A gnome appears waiting just inside the mouth-like entrance, ready to stable the mounts. Kilm stands at least 100 feet high at the peak of the chimney and about 60 feet in diameter with at least four stories of space mimicking a small mechanical mountain riveted together with scraps operated by a complex system of gears and pulleys.

Is the party going to enter the domicile?

Ibrah hops in to Kilm as it nears. He looks at the gnome standing in the doorway, pauses, then waits for the rest of the party to board before bowing. I am Ibrah Narishtahir. I have traveled from the distant Mwangi Expanse, hunting some marauders that desecrated our shrine to Shelyn.
