Verrin Kord |

for when it is my turn, since i wont be able to post tomorrow much
Verrin tries to move to where he can strike at one of the wolves threatening the archers. He shouts and stomps to try and get its attention before stabbing it.
attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 201d8 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

Silvash Auerial |

The wolves begin their orchestrated and instinctual attacks.
One wolf attacks Tress.
[Dice=bite]1d20+7[Dice=damage]1d8+6 plus trip.
I believe you get a CMD roll to avoid trip which provokes an Aoo.
Another wolf goes after S ilvash.
[Dice=bite]1d20+7[Dice=confirm critical]1d20+7
[Dice=damage] 1d8+6The third wounded one gnashes teeth before lashing out at Thaane.
[Dice=bite]1d20+7
[Dice=Damage] 1d8+6The last one tears after Lilly.
[Dice=bite]1d20+7
Lilly escapes the maw of the beast while Silvash is not as lucky.
You forgot the crit damage on me. Which will drop me as I only have 6 after the first part of the damage.
For the trip, you roll 1d20 and add the creatures CMB. If the result beats our CMD we are tripped. Don't bother for me as I end up on the ground anyway due to damage.

Crimson Tress |

CMD vs. trip: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18
Narrowly managing to avoid the wolf dragging her to the ground, Tress uses the beast's momentum against it and slashes it across the face.
Attack of opportunity. Swift action to use a pool point for +1 enhancement. 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26 for 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 damage. Crit threat! Roll to confirm: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25 for 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 damage.
Provided the wolf is still standing, Tress coldly chops at it again, trying to break the wolves' attack pattern. Her blade, already coated in blood, shimmers and glows redly. "If anyone has any healing to spare, I could use it," she says out loud.
Attack roll 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16 for 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 damage.

Ibrah Narishtahir |

Ok, so I've only regened 1 more HP, then.
Here are some AoO rolls if you want to retcon any of them in--not sure if I misunderstood something or how many would ahve gone by me. With Combat Reflexes I get up to 3 AoOs/round
Glaive AoO 1 - Take Higher d20 roll: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 31d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Glaive AoO 2 - Take Higher d20 roll: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 41d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Glaive AoO 3 - Take Higher d20 roll: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 71d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
--
Crit Confirm for AoO 1 - Take Higher d20 roll: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 181d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
AoO 1 Damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
AoO 1 Crit Damage (if it confirmed): 2d10 + 6 ⇒ (10, 8) + 6 = 24
Ibrah changes the focus of his judgment, determined to strike down one of the wolves. Swift Action to change to Justice Judgment for +1 Sacred bonus to attack rolls.
Seeing Silvash go down to the Orc's attack, Ibrah tries to stand near him without getting too near the wolves. Move action to reposition.
He strikes at the orc standing next to Silvash's body.
Glaive, +1 Justice, +1 Dedicated Defender trait - take higher roll: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 221d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Glaive Damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
So Ibrah is standing adjacent to Silvash, 10 feet away from the wolf on the other side of Silvash. If the orc tries to come closer, Ibrah will get an AoO.
Glaive AoO, +1 Justice, +1 Dedicated Defender trait: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Glaive Damage: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13 (although I doubt that hits)
Should any other wolves move in or out of the 10-foot ring around Ibrah, use up to two of these rolls (Ibrah can't roll more than 3 AoOs a round)
Glaive AoO 2, +1 Justice, +1 Dedicated Defender trait: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Glaive Damage: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Glaive AoO 3, +1 Justice, +1 Dedicated Defender trait: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Glaive Damage: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Khartelosch |

Khartelosch moves over to Tress, taking an AOO on any wolf that attempts to intercede, and casts CLW on her, defensively if any wolves are close enough to threaten, otherwise just normal casting.
AOO: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 dmg: 1d12 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
cast def: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22 CLW: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
"I trust this will hold you until I can get Sylvash back on his feet." he says, as the tiniest trickle of positive energy seeps into Tress.

CMD vs. trip: 1d20+15
Narrowly managing to avoid the wolf dragging her to the ground, Tress uses the beast's momentum against it and slashes it across the face.
Attack of opportunity. Swift action to use a pool point for +1 enhancement. 1d20+6 for 1d6+4 damage. Crit threat! Roll to confirm: 1d20+6 for 1d6+4 damage.
Provided the wolf is still standing, Tress coldly chops at it again, trying to break the wolves' attack pattern. Her blade, already coated in blood, shimmers and glows redly. "If anyone has any healing to spare, I could use it," she says out loud.
Attack roll 1d20+6 for 1d6+4 damage.
Tress, you don't don't do anything to defend against the trip attack. He has to roll the trip and beat your CMD of 15, which there is a good chance he will do as he only has to roll 7 or higher (based on dire wolf's CMB of +8). If he does beat it you go down and aren't able to attack.

Thaane |

Thaane wrote:Lilly, is your shield spell still active??
I have no Shield spell listed on my sheet and never casted any spells at all during this fight yet.
My mistake. I didn't keep track of who cast defensive spells earlier except for Khartelosch who cast Protect from evil, which doesn't apply here.

Silvash Auerial |

Sorry. Trawets71 is one of my multiple personalities that got loose. I hate it when he takes over. I'll try and keep him stuffed down in here.
I do have mage armor up put it didn't matter as you were well over my AC with the wolf attacks.

Thaane |

Silvash, it didn't state a crit on dire wolf stat block Paizo ref. doc
Trip on Tress: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Tress is dropped as well as Silvash. She is attacked by an adjacent wolf.
attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Tress lays unconscious on the ground. I am assuming that your HP is below 0, but not at death.

Thaane |

Ibrah halves the escaping orc and then safe guards Silvash's barely conscious body.
The ground begins to quake slowly as the melee continues.
Seeing Thaane and his new friends in fighting desperately for their lives, he flies above swooping down to precisely bomb the wolves.
attack 1: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (8) + 17 = 25
damage: 8d6 + 11 ⇒ (4, 2, 4, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2) + 11 = 33
attack 2: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22
damage: 8d6 + 11 ⇒ (5, 4, 3, 1, 1, 3, 6, 6) + 11 = 40
attack 3: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
damage: 8d6 + 11 ⇒ (3, 4, 1, 5, 4, 3, 3, 2) + 11 = 36
Three of the wolves are instantly killed and the last one is taken care of by Ibrah and Verrin's attacks.
As the smoke clears, Laholm lands. He remains in his morphed state of part eagle and part human. His feathers are a shiny black, but his hair is the purest white.
Hello, I am Laholm. I rescue Thaane as often as possible.
Laholm grabs a wand from his sash and hands it to Lilly.
I think that you will need this, he says to her.
He hands her a wand of CLW with 30 charges.
Who are you, if I may ask?

Silvash Auerial |

Silvash, it didn't state a crit on dire wolf stat block Paizo ref. doc
If it doesn't state a crit you assume 20/X2. You already confirmed the crit so you just need to roll the damage again, in this case 1d8+6.
A critical hit means that you roll your damage more than once, with all your usual bonuses, and add the rolls together. Unless otherwise specified, the threat range for a critical hit on an attack roll is 20, and the multiplier is ×2. Exception: Precision damage (such as from a rogue's sneak attack class feature) and additional damage dice from special weapon abilities (such as flaming) are not multiplied when you score a critical hit. Increased Threat Range: Sometimes your threat range is greater than 20. That is, you can score a threat on a lower number. In such cases, a roll of lower than 20 is not an automatic hit. Any attack roll that doesn't result in a hit is not a threat. Increased Critical Multiplier: Some weapons deal better than double damage on a critical hit (see Equipment). Spells and Critical Hits: A spell that requires an attack roll can score a critical hit. A spell attack that requires no attack roll cannot score a critical hit. If a spell causes ability damage or drain (see Special Abilities), the damage or drain is doubled on a critical hit.

Thaane |

Thaane ignores Laholm, drops his eerie cloak of darkness and begins cutting the head of off the last orc, the one that was not mangled by the wolves. He grabs it's spear and thrusts it into the neck of the head, so that the head rests on the short spear.

Lillyanna Calleigh |

"What the hell are you, who the hell is Thaane and what the hell is going on here."
Lillyanna has her bow trained on the creepy newcomer and his eerie cloak of darkness, unsure if he is on their side or if he just plans on killing everyone.

Silvash Auerial |

Silvash staggers to his feet and looks around Whaa...at happened. Last thing I knew I was a wolfs chew toy. And who are you three strange ones? As he looks at Ibrash, Thaane and Laholm.
He then looks at Tress on the ground and says Where are my manners? He reaches a hand to Tress to help her off the sand. I bet that wasn't your idea of rolling around in the sand.

Crimson Tress |

The first thing Tress does, is grab her sword.
Then she staggers to her feet.
She proceeds to sum up her feelings on recent and current events succinctly: "I want a beer."

Laholm |

As Laholm begins to speak, you see a gigantic mechanism with a central flue pouring out smoke as it slowly moves towards the party.
I am a friend, hopefully...I am called the Watcher of the Wastes. I can hopefully be of some service type o you. he states politely. Please forgive my state. You see if I return to my original form of human right this moment, it shall be without clothing.I don't mean to alarm you.

Laholm |

Thaane and I are both human. We both suffer from curses. Thaane was born with his. Mine was given to me by our mother. A power. ful dweomer that forces me to stay within sight of Kilm, my home . He points to the slowly moving enormous mechanism.
I would love to show you some hospitality and rest if you would be interested in joining me.I do have beer. Wine and Ale also.

Thaane |

My blood contains a curse. Set upon me by Zon Kuthon. I have never died, but often my body acts like it has. My blood is acidic. Magic that normally heals others, hurts me badly. There are however some advantages.

Khartelosch |

"Your offer is generous, Laholm, but our current obligation is to the caravan, which must be warned of the dangers here. Something moves the very ground. If it is not the orcs nor your... home, you say?... then it may be some burrowing abomination that will soon arrive. I suggest we all relocate quickly." The half-orc speaks for the first time since the newcomers' arrival, spying the contraption with, he thinks, well-deserved skepticism as he retrieves his camel, Malek.

Laholm |

I understand this. I have been watching. You can get a quick repast and I have some items that will make your journey less cumbersome. The worm will not go near Kilm.in an hour or so you can return to your caravan with a scouting report and some additional information about the east. It seems that your caravan is now heading in that direction, no?

Khartelosch |

"Then it seems we can have no objections. I am eager to hear news of the east," says Khartelosch, leading Malek toward the traveling house.
If anyone is still in need, Khartelosch has more healing to spare.

Lillyanna Calleigh |

Having decided that there is no immediate threat, Lilly will have taken the time to look at the wand and then see to those that are still injured.
Feel free to roll healing for however many times you would ask Lilly to tap you with the wand.

Laholm |

Thaane. Laholm gently beckons him to follow quic. kly to Kilm.
The ground quakes again as Kilm draws closer to the party. Ripples in the sand appear about 1000 feet away. Kilm squeaks as it moves ever so slightly across the desert terrain. It's portcullis appears as a mouth in the front which opens like a hinged mandible to let the adventurers in. A gnome appears waiting just inside the mouth-like entrance, ready to stable the mounts. Kilm stands at least 100 feet high at the peak of the chimney and about 60 feet in diameter with at least four stories of space mimicking a small mechanical mountain riveted together with scraps operated by a complex system of gears and pulleys.
Is the party going to enter the domicile?

Ibrah Narishtahir |

Ibrah hops in to Kilm as it nears. He looks at the gnome standing in the doorway, pauses, then waits for the rest of the party to board before bowing. I am Ibrah Narishtahir. I have traveled from the distant Mwangi Expanse, hunting some marauders that desecrated our shrine to Shelyn.
