Noro resists the force of the blast and holds him still while the rest of the party descends like a pack of hungry wolves. Only Zayid misses, and that was to prevent burying his crescent blade into Freia's arm.
The wizard gives one last pained scream as magic and blade slice him to ribbons. His scream is only silenced by a feathered shaft sinking into his throat. From then on, his last attempts at breath produce only bubbling gargles.
Then he goes limp in Noro's arms.
The stream of energy falters and the entire room starts to shake violently. A second later the metal ball covered in Thasalonian runes falls down through a hole in the floor and into the well below. A searing wall of fire and drowning flood of uncontrolled magic wash over you and drive you into inky blackness.
