Have a courtesy link. I figured that should be a thing.

I will get the Order up later today.
Glad to see this getting started! :)

Absolutely.

The Aspis Consortium recruitment thread is up! I look forward to seeing who applies.

Fantastic I've linked your recruitment thread to the Main Campaign Info. I'll change that to a Campaign link when you set that up.

Mind if I steal some of that, Tallgrass? I like how you set up your crunch section

Hey all, interesting project, I'm hoping to be involved as a player and wondered if you planned to limit players involvement to a single faction? Personally I prefer the idea of being invested in a single character and faction, and PVPing against yourself would certainly be a tad off. Multiple simultaneous recruitment threadssuch will limit the player pool, if people cannot apply to more than one. I'm also curious if DMs would be allowed to participate as players.

Maybe some factions with little overlap potential could be designated as available for DMs and players to double up?

I also wondered if any of you were familiar with the various EnWorld Living Worlds? They were large scale collaborative projects which had systems to handle character advancement. It might be interesting to have some, ideally simpler, way to strata PCs if more people were to be brought into the mix with recruitment a down the line. I love a lot of the ideas, but things are very strict with intricate level up procedures, etc., being both a strength and a weakness.

They seem to be using the world created for Living 4E which I played a big part in designing which is nice to see :) Though I've only seen a few place names and imagine things have changed drastically since I ran over there.

Living Pathfinder

That is a good point to bring up. How are we going to handle character advancement? Perhaps something a little like the level up application from living pathfinder.
Step 1
A player or GM thinks they have done enough to level up.
Step 2
The player or GM comes up with a proposal to level them up.
Step 3
If the Faction GM approves it gets brought to the Over GM for approval
Step 4
If all approvals are met the player may level up the character.
Does this sound like it will work better than XP grinding?

Indeed. It could also be a function of the Over-GM to monitor the threads and notify all faction GM's when enough has been done on average across all threads for a level, in case no one brings it up.

True, although that will depend on how busy I am.

It doesn't have to be constant oversight. If you get a free evening and notice we've been doing a lot recently you can reserve the right to mass-level everyone.

sorry to snoop on the thread but seemed the best place to ask...

(it was asked but did not see an answer) the ruling about applying to multiple factions and what if accepted to multiple factions...is that a problem?
talking players here not necessarily characters of course.

I would be ok with that as long as you, in crossover events, were able to maintain separation in what each character knows and not use one to aid the other.

more like.. keeping one from killing the other...

However, in regards to canon timelines you're looking at JR taking place AFTER RotRL and I'm fairly certain Shattered Star does too.

Shattered Star is essentially a sequel to RoTRL, although by necessity different characters are involved. (you really can't have 17th level Runelord players in the first book of Shattered Star :) And you really do need to run We Be Goblins as an opener to Jade Regent :)

To Edward Sobel:
I think that is fine, although that would be up to each faction GM if he has a problem with it. I can understand a faction GM not wanting to do that especially since some events may involve clues that one group gets and another doesn't.

As for canon timelines those will be a guideline but our game will diverge relatively significantly from those in some aspects.
