The Little Game Master |

I'm a big fan of progressive improvement in games, so since your characters have downtime now, I thought I'd introduce it.
Per standard rules, you could earn money in your profession while you wait for the guards.
OR per my house rules, you can gain a flat +1 bonus to any skill (including use of a particular weapon in combat) that you could feasibly train while in this location. For instance, if, as Seleste suggested, you help with repairs, you get a +1 to Craft (Carpentry) or Knowledge (Engineering) or attacks with improvised weapons you might find at a construction site (hammers, wooden boards, hand-saws, etc).
You can choose to do any number of things as long as you don't leave the Levetons outnumbered; I will decide what bonus you get based on what you choose to spend your time doing.

Mamise Iwani |

Woooh, Skill bonus! Except... that I don't have any practical skill to train, unless I spend a week lying to everyone.
Which is pretty much what I normally do.
On a serious note, someone with Survival might scout the nearby area to be sure no retaliation attacks are incoming.
I'll help with repairs, using Natural Divination to get a +10 a day. And I'm taking one vial of alchemist fire and the pendant from the loot. Do we want to have a shared gold pool or split the coins?

Gage G |

hmm, I like the team money pool idea
Also, can we spend from our newly found lewt for the stuff we listed earlier? xD
I think Gage will probably be interested in fixing up those ballistae catapults (why do I keep calling them ballistae?) xD
Also, when you say a flat +1 bonus to any skill, do you mean something that will hopefully turn into a rank when we level up? or... is it permanent/semi-permanent...?

The Little Game Master |

It is a permanent bonus that does not effect/is not effected by leveling.
Also, yes, the Levetons are more than happy to sell you what you need at a discounted rate (i.e. the prd value). They have everything a hunter-gatherer trading post would likely have; all mundane. If you want something magical, ask them while you're roleplaying your downtime, and they'll work something out. Otherwise, just put your shopping list on here and include your current available gold, and I'll let you know if they have what you want, and how much it'd cost.

5gp 15lbs
2x shovels
4gp 16lbs

10gp 6lbs

6gp 3lbs
Craft(Carpentry) kit
5gp 5lbs

2gp 5lbs
100ft of hemp rope
2gp 20lbs=42gp
Anyone think of anything else too add to our team mule / party stash since November? XD
Ooooh, also maybe we can just keep a bandit horse instead of buying a mule xD

Mamise: repairs
Repairs and entertaining, I'd prefer to get the bonus to Perform(sing), seems to be more in character.
To the list I'd add:
- two sacks (2 sp 1 lb.) for lugging stuff
- a large tent (30 gp, 40 lbs.) 4 people sleep, one stands guard. Gage don't get ideas
- a bear trap (2gp, 10 lbs.) because it works on bandits too. Maybe more than one.
- a compass (10gp, 1/2 lbs.) not too necessary but nice to have
- a grappling hook (1gp, 4lbs.) exceptionally good for climbing
- a signal whistle each (4 gp, -) for signals
That's 47 more gp, I can give all my 11.
Tika has bottles should we need to carry liquids, we should have torches enough and we can make our own poles from forestwood if we need them.

Gage G |

To keep things simple, and because I love capitalism (I wish America still had capitalism), why don't we all just contribute 10gp from what we had before we liberated 65gp from the bandits to get an easy to calculate 115gp team-fund, and subtract... 89gp if I understood our GM correctly xD
If there are no objections, I figure we can give out equal shares of the team cash when we go shopping for individual items (like a +1 whip?) and spend team cash directly on things that help everyone (like a mule, 4-person tent, or a CLW wand)

I changed it to 5 sacks and a waterproof sack for an even 1gp

I prefer this version for the holidays, myself!

Gage G |

Make it so.
I take that to mean we get to buy all that listed stuff off-screen for 92gp
xDAlso, is my shirt riding up? 'Cause I thought we switched from spandex to wool...

Vitellia Orlovsky |

I sign off on the spending scheme as well, pardon for the absence. Just one of those months where life stuff keeps cropping up.

The Little Game Master |

At this point, where you go and what you do is entirely up to you. I'll just be here to throw stuff at you as you do.

Mamise Iwani |

Soooo I'd say we take a shot at the bandits. Do we try to get the support of the guards, or go on attacking them guerrilla-style? I vote for the second option (we have bear traps and a rogue!)

Tika Fairhaven |

Yes. Im for option two. I like guerilla style ambushes, though im likely to need some pants for that. Been in a dress all this while. Or not, you know. Can conceal all manner of weapons in my skirts.
-Posted with Wayfinder

Gage G |

Ever read Twig? If you hide weapons in your skirt, can we call you Miss Ribbons?

Gage G |

I don't have charm animal, so I vote going around the beastie infested forest xD

Gage G |

Actually, now that I think about it, does Seleste know the Narlmarches?

Gage G |

BTW, I won't be able to post for a day or two due to travel.
Feel free to decide on which way to go without me xD

Seleste Talyn |

Actually, now that I think about it, does Seleste know the Narlmarches?
Don't think I can add much to your knowledge roll there. And she is more of a hills and plains farmer girl anyway.

Gage G |

Ah, I wasn't sure how close to the forest she roamed xD
Also I must say, I think I like the idea of fighting spiders.
Spiders are impossible to disarm and almost impossible to trip, so Gage would have to find some way to pretend that he's helping during the fight xD

Gage G |

"Food! Did we pack enough food?"
I say we explore, so we'd probably move around 15 feet. Unless we want to rely heavily on Survival, I only have 5 days' worth of ration, we may want to stock up for a couple weeks (50-70 trail rations for 25-35 gp, and I've lost track of the money management)
I know what's up with the money!
Did you guys want me to add everyone's money to the spreadsheet I made?I can totally keep track of the party's lewt :3
Assuming the current cash on hand listed in everyone's profile hasn't changed since before we beat up the bandits; we have a total of 107gp, 4sp, and 7cp after buying stuff.
I vote we buy oodles of food.
Also even though we didn't buy food yet, we have the 8 days (1.6 days for 5 people) worth of liberated bandit feed :3

Mamise Iwani |

That sounds perfect, I'm crossing out my starting funds. Let's turn Kingmaker into Communist-utopiamaker! (not really ^_^)

Gage G |

Whatever you say, comrade Mamise :P
Now that I think about it, what alignment do we want for our kingdom?
I vote CG, like Gage and Mamise :P

"Allons-y?"
Did the doctor finally get red hair?
Cutting through the forest on foot at a speed of 30 ft without exploring would bring you to the camp in 20 hours, 15 if you took the plains. It takes a very long time to explore.
Neat!
We might want to give Vitellia a liberated bandit horse so that we can move 30ft/round... everyone else has light/no armor, right? Also, shall we go plains and for the fastest route then?

Vitellia Orlovsky |

Hey everyone! Sorry, got avalanched by Holiday Business.
Vitellia would be happy to take a former bandit horse. I'm the one slowing everyone else down. :P

Gage G |

Merry Christmas everyone ^^

Gage G |

So, if I understand correctly, I can mimic spells like disguise self, up to the highest level I can cast, 1/day, right?
That reminds me, it sounds like the ruby would let Gage do things similar to minor image (sight and sound). Or is it just straight up Minor Image in a can ruby? xD
Does Gage need to concentrate to use it?
Also if it isn't simply an existing spell, I'm guessing it makes figmints or maybe figments + glamors; are either of those a good guess?
[edit]Oh yeah, can Gage use it without opening the locket?

Mamise Iwani |

Planning here can be easier, I believe. Since we're outnumbered, we either need stealth to pick them one by one (with a sap, a pan might be noisy) or some diversion to split them. I'll gladly be the diversion.
In open combat I only have my Command:Fall as a useful spell, but I can distract them and run away while you attack the rear guard. It could be dangerous, though. Otherwise, we pelt them with arrows from a distance, using hit-and-run tactics (for that purpose I should have picked up a crossbow, now that I think about it). If you have other ideas, I'll be glad to hear them.

Gage G |

Planning here can be easier, I believe.
My thoughts exactly. Just thought I'd ask this time... I forgot last time xD
As for the plan, I'd say it depends on how many of them are up at the time. If it's one guy I can just try to use my bardic performance to fascinate him. Maybe for two guys I can fascinate one and we can take the other out silently enough (he'd have -4 to perception checks) to sneak up on both.
For three or more guys I think I could use Silent Image, or, more likely, the ruby of illusory dooooom™ to pull off the illusion that I'm Happs and I didn't lose all my bandit buddies...

Mamise: the artifact is not limited by your caster level, nor is it limited by the rules of alter self but otherwise those are safe assumptions.
Gage: your second guess is closer, see the note below, and yes you can use it w/o opening the locket.
NOTE: These are EXTRADIMENSIONAL artifacts, they do not necessarily follow the laws of magic from this dimension, NOR will they always have the exact same effect.

The Little Game Master |

Also, whenever you're ready to arrive at the camp, place your avatars w/in the red rectangle on the map (in any orientation). You may also choose not to appear all at once, so I'm just looking for the first wave. Once they're there, I can get started.

Gage G |

Yay!
Actually, what if Gage took Vitellia and Seleste "prisoners" so that they don't need to sneak in to get closer? The bindings could be illusory...

Gage G |

I thought of yet another variation on Mamise's plan xD
What if Mamise helped Tika instead of helping Gage? They're both sneaky, right? :D
If Tika needs something silent to borrow, maybe Gage can lend his dagger...
And if Seleste and Vitellia are "Happs'" "prisoners", they don't need to sneak (and they won't have to charge very far) :D

Mamise Iwani |

I'm only sneaky for Dexterity, and my spells are all loud, I'm afraid I wouldn't do much good. The "prisoners" will need some way to conceal their weapons, but it could work.

Gage G |

Hmmm, when we finally get a bag of holding, who would mind if it was disguised as a potato sack?

Gage G |

I will take that sound of crickets as approval xD

Mamise Iwani |

So, in the end, the plan is:
- Disguised Gage with Seleste and Vitellia as fake prisoner
- Stealthy Tika
- Me hiding in the grass behind Gage, ready to provide support
Am I right? Would you rather have me help Tika?

Gage G |

Sounds good!
Let's go XD
BTW, do Kitsune get any bonus for pretending to be a particular forest animal...?
edit: whose torch can I use while I concentrate on the bandit+bondage illusion? xD

Gage G |

I get the feeling that some of us are a bit busy, so I went ahead and put us all on the map; I hope you all like our starting positions :3
Also I used Happs' 'mini' for Gage, and will continue to do so until they find out it's me xD
speaking of which, I guess Mamise can use aid another to give me a +2?
disguise: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 3 + 2 = 17 +something from the stag necklace?

Mamise Iwani |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Ok, so I'm keeping my Natural Divination for the just-begun day ready. There's actually a feat that lets me turn into a real fox, but right now I'm quite too big.
Disguise, aid: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22 Not hiding the roll since I hit DC 10 with a 1 >_<

Gage G |

Just pretend you're a very big strong fox if anyone sees you?
It's dark, who knows XD

Vitellia Orlovsky |

Hey everyone! Sorry I disappeared there for a minute. I caught an exceptionally nasty flu a few days ago, and I spent so little time both awake and lucid, I forgot about pretty much everything I had going on beyond relaying directions to folks covering for me at work. I'll work on reading through what I missed to get caught up, and have a post up later tonight, tomorrow at the latest. I'm in other PbPs with some of you, so apologies for having to read this over there as well.
Again, sincerest apologies for the brief vanishing act.

@Vitellia: Glad to hear you're feeling better Vitellia!
I'm 90% sure that you're just in time for us to start our encounter at the bandit camp xD
@Mamise: I actually forgot that part XD
I guess I was thinking polymorph spells where your clothes fuse into your body?
edit: You're still humanoid, so nevermind...
But now that you mention it, it's not like you'd give anything away if you went in like that after transforming into a fox; you know that Caladrel can hold more than your backpack, right? :P
Also, did anyone else have trouble logging into paizo for the past couple days?

Mamise Iwani |

I'll just keep it as an extremely emergency disguise. Right after I find a way to make your clothes dissolve in the rain, or something like that ^_^
Yeah, the site has been offline for the better part of today.

Gage G |

Fair xD
