GM Netherfire |
Yikes. Well... at least you've got that beefy Constitution...?
Remember you can also bolster less-than-stellar hp rolls with the favored class bonus, if Ajaxx's favored class is Fighter.
GM Netherfire |
That about does it. Henry, Quick, Tulden: you've leveled up to level 3! Ding ding ding! Congratulations!
As always, I am willing to help you with leveling up process. Send questions here or to the Hangout. If you decide to do it yourself, please post your changes to your PC here in Discussion. Skill point allocation, and your level 3 HP roll are the main aspects I want to keep track of. Remember that we are playing from the Core Rulebook only.
You are free to continue posting if you wish; we seem to be in a social scenario right now. Though you may want to finish leveling up first, just in case you end up using social skills (Bluff, Diplomacy, Intimidate, Sleight of Hand) before you are done upgrading to level 3.
Sorry, Ajaxx. I have an introduction planned for you but play-by-posts are slow moving beasts.
Quick' |
Took improved initiative. Favored class went to hit points. upped KN: Arcana, Spellcraft, and Perception.
I have two known spells taken up with Mage Armor...my bad.
Now I have color spray and shocking grasp.
GM Netherfire |
Looks good, Quick.
Henry, let me know your skill point selections when you are done leveling up.
Tulden, did you want help leveling up to 3?
Henry Southgard |
Henry gains 6 HP, as rolled above, plus 1 from his Favored Class Bonus.
He's going to take Weapon Focus (Crossbows), which gives him +1 to attack.
As a Fighter with an Int modifier of 2, he gets 4 skill points plus one from being Human.
1 skill point goes to Knowledge (Geography), because of all the time spent studying maps.
1 skill point goes to Survival
1 skill point goes to Perception
1 skill point goes to Ride, which is also a class skill.
1 skill point goes to Handle Animal, which is also a class skill
Will and Reflex save bonuses get bumped up by 1.
Armor Training means that he reduces the armor check penalty and increases the maximum dexterity bonus to AC by 1 each.

Welcome, Vylyra! Go ahead and update your profile with the stats you pm'd me. It all looks good.
Nme'an |
Also, don’t forget that 1-2 hit dice targets of Color Spray could also be knocked unconscious!
That seems unlikely to ever happen...
Quirel |
So, the haul comes out to...
x12 studded armor (150 gp)
x11 falchions (412.5 gp)
x3 masterwork javelins (451.5 gp)
x1 masterwork shortspears (151.5 gp)
x15 javelins (7.5 gp)
3.36 gp in coins.
(Note: Prices above reflect what we'll get selling them for half of their buying price)
Appraise: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10 Silver rings
Appraise: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16 Gold rings
Appraise: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 Ring with the gemstone
I'm currently going through Henry Southgard's profile, adding up his current wealth.
GM Netherfire |
Just so there isn't any errors in loot-selling calculation, go ahead and state any of the weapons or armors you are keeping.
Quick detects no magic in the rings.
3d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 4) = 13
1d6 ⇒ 4
2d4 ⇒ (3, 3) = 6
Silver rings should fetch 13gp each. The two plain gold rings, until recently, were kept polished and free of scratches. Henry suspects that they were newly made -within the last year or so; they are each worth 54gp.
The gold of the bejeweled ring is of similar quality, and surely the unidentified purple gemstone adds to its value. Neither Quick or Henry can remember the name of the gem. But you can retry identifying rolls again in 24 hours.
GM Netherfire |
Yeah go ahead Henry. Sorry, I meant to post something last night but time got away from me and I still have a lot to do.
Waldemar can get you guys masterwork upgrades to weapons and armor for free (please limit these upgrades to 4 items per person). And a 20% discount off the cost of a light, non-combat trained horse. He kind of needs every warhorse available to him right now, but if you pass a Diplomacy DC 20, that same discount can apply to a light combat-trained horse. Just one of you needs to pass the DC 20 check for the discount to apply to everyone.
Let me know if you have any questions. It might be a few more days before I can post.
GM Netherfire |
You're ok, Vylyra. I'd be more worried if this game took precedence over real life!
So, we can do this over Discussion or RP it out in Gameplay:
Ajaxx wants masterwork tower shield, masterwork banded mail, masterwork flail and mastework longbow in exchange for his non-masterwork versions of those things?
Henry wants a masterwork falchion in exchange for his captured one, and to have his family crossbow "fixed" to a masterwork crossbow.
Quick? Any weapons you want to trade in for an upgrade? Capt. Waldemar is still waiting for an answer from you, by the way.
No upgrades for Vylyra, looks like she's got all masterwork stuff already. Sorry about that!
Also, if everyone is going to buy a horse (say yay or nay!) I can skip straight to leaving town after Capt. Wally hears from Quick. Unless there's something else anyone wants to do in Redstone Keep? You can say so here or in Hangouts.
Quick' |
Quick will trade his falchion for a masterwork falchion, his greataxe for a masterwork handaxes (or a pair if possible), his light crossbow for a masterwork one, and that's it.
Ragashingo |
Anyone care to place bets on how long y'all can remain near Thaleniel before it is overrun or nearly overrun by orcs? :p
P.S. Please don't lose Thaleniel like you did Port Elam... I fear that the mission scripting will break if the city is destroyed and our quest giver is somehow killed...
Henry Southgard |
"Well, you see, the bad news is that we lost Thaleniel. And, uh, pretty much the whole southern half of the kingdom. This wave of refugees rolled over the land like a plague of locusts, denuding the farms and granaries of food. But before anyone could starve to death, the Orcs rushed north and burned every last major city to the ground."
"The good news is that some sort of prophesied arch-dragon of the apocalypse has emerged from the earth and is laying waste to everything that's left, which is mostly greenskins. Therefore, you won't have to slaughter an army of savages just to retake your homeland, you just have to kill a flying blast furnace that measures a hundred paces from wingtip to wingtip. Good luck with that."
GM Netherfire |
I was giving time for Vylyra and/or Henry to say things if they wished. But I can move things along if we don't hear from them soon.
GM Netherfire |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Ok folks, I've got a houserule here for ya:
The fighter's Bravery class feature bonus also applies to the fighter's DC against Intimidate rolls from opponents.
This more directly affects two of the PCs, but it will also apply to any npc fighters the party might encounter.
Quick' |
Satisfied Quick will be fine!?
You saw him get whacked, go down, try to rise, then go still.
He'll be fine!?
He loves Vylyra and this is how you treat him? Betrayal!?
...i may be too into this character's head...
