Thribden Malkut Diniya |

I might be reading it wrong, but when I first read over "frightened," I was under the impression that the thing had to try to flee for those 2 rounds.

![]() |

A frightened creature can fight if it has no means to escape. I would say we probably have them cornered in the house.
K. Dungeoneering: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Tripp will move into the house, and upon noticing the creature attempt to tumble up against the wall (to avoid AoO).
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 3 + 2 = 21
"What in the hell is that?! Lucille, whatever it is, show them your fury!!"
He will sling his readied bullet at the creature with Lucille.
mwk Sling Staff: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 4 + 1 = 161d6 - 1 + 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 + 1 = 6
(not sure if I take the -4 for firing into melee, as it looks like Shiori is prone and Gorou didn't engage? But go ahead and subtract 4 if it applies. The +1's are from point blank shot.)

Gorou Kaijitsu |

Going to post my round 3 action now, since I'm sure it'll be needed before I wake up tomorrow:
Gorou recoils at the faceless horror standing over his sister. "YE GODS, what's that!?" Deciding it does really matter, he hits it with his sword as hard as he can.
attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
confirm: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
damage: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

Thribden Malkut Diniya |

Thribden moves her way through the now crowded room. She bends down to touch "Shalelu," drawing a simple spiral on the woman's back. अपने घावों को करीब दें. जीवन के अंदर वापस प्रवाह करते हैं.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 2 = 7
+2 trait bonus from Rescued (Koya)

Darinius |

Darinius darts into battle right behind Gorou, stabbing at the snakes with short strikes from his spear, but cannot land a strike on the writhing animal.
Attack on #4: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Move and Attack. I should be fine moving since one foe is cowering and the snakes seem to have no reach. Also I have 3 AoO's per round which I will take if the snakes try to go anywhere. Should I pre-roll some attacks for that in case I have to use them?
There is no one standing in the door anymore, so I don't know if it is cornered.

MiniGM |

Darinius misses, the sling bullet slams into the cabinet
Shiori wakes up
1d20 ⇒ 8 Exiel misses the snake that moves to attack Tripp
2d20 ⇒ (17, 13) = 30
Tripp is bit by a snake for 1 pt of damage and he owes me a Fort save DC 9
The creature cowers for another round Total Defense
Darinius I did not give you an AOO because of your location in the doorway
Go Hereos
Gorou strikes true, drawing a hiss of pain

Shiori Kaijitsu |

Picking up her dagger off the ground, Shiori attacks the creature above her.
Dagger: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (7) + 3 - 4 = 61d4 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 1 = 3 But cannot seem to connect from the floor.

![]() |

I actually hate snakes in real life. They're on the top of the list of creatures I hate, above roaches and mosquitos.
Assuming that last hit destroyed the snake, Exiel will move out beside Darinius, barring the creature's most direct escape route. GM, if you confirm the snake is dead, please move me to the square East of the cabinet.
So if he tries to get past me, he'll have to squeeze past the cabinet and then take an AoO from me whilst taking the penalties from squeezing, right? If so, and if it takes an AoO from me, my AoO will be used to try to trip it.

Darinius |

Assuming that #4 is the one that Exiel just killed.
Darinius backs up against the innocently bystanding cabinet and attacks. Hopefully skewering the last of the snakes.
Attacking snake #2: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
I assume I can do this without penalty since the people seem to have been moving freely through that space. Otherwise I will rethink my action.

Thribden Malkut Diniya |

Thribden slashes at the thing on top of "Shalelu" with her dagger.
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Narissth |

Narissth moves into the room with his bow drawn. He immediately fires at the cowering creature.
Pretty sure that there are a ton of negatives for this, that is what happens with an archer and no feats.
Attack-bow: 1d20 + 6 + 1 - 4 - 4 ⇒ (6) + 6 + 1 - 4 - 4 = 5 <-- I think it is +1 PBS, -4 firing into combat and probably -4 for someone in the way
Damage: 1d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 + 1 = 8
His arrow harmlessly skewers the ceiling.

MiniGM |

but a mighty skewering of the ceiling it was nari!!
Tripp dodges away from the snake and draws his shortsword, but it scrapes off the floor
The snake follows Tripp and both Darinus and Tripp miss their AOO's
Tripp you never made your fort save, rolled for you and you failed take 1 DEX damage, luckily you made the save this round
Trip is bitten again taking another point of damage.

Narissth |

Round 4
Narissth continues to attempt to shoot the creature.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 1 - 4 - 4 ⇒ (12) + 6 + 1 - 4 - 4 = 11
Damage: 1d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 + 1 = 4
And once more the commotion around the creature throws off his aim.

Thribden Malkut Diniya |

Thribden strikes again, but steps away afterward.
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14
1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Thribden Malkut Diniya |

Nevermind on the step back. Not enough room to do that.

Shiori Kaijitsu |

Just to check, am I grappled?

Darinius |

Darinius, frustrates with the confines of the space, grabs the cabinet blocking the way and heaves it out the door past Exiel. Then steps back to level his weapon at the creature.
I assume STR: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
Standard to move the cabinet then 5ft. step back

Shiori Kaijitsu |

Escape Artist: 1d20 + 7 - 2 ⇒ (7) + 7 - 2 = 12 -2 is for the -4 dex neg for being grappled.
Shiori tries to escape her captor's grasp but doesn't manage to get anywhere.
The creature grappling me is entitled to a Will save to disbelieve my disguise self, the DC would be 11, Thribden was also entitled to one when she healed me.

Thribden Malkut Diniya |

Will Save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16

![]() |

How did I get bit the first time? I was outside, and then tumbled inside to use my sling... and rolled a 21 on acrobatics to avoid aoo... so its looking like you used that as my round 3 and I didn't get a round 2, yet you put me inside anyways? I am confused...

![]() |

Great, snakes and and leech-like creatures... Lovely, this swamp.
Exiel steps back into the room and brings his club down on the creature's head.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Unless it has some special ability with grappling, it should also have the grappled condition, and thus should have an AC penalty right now?

![]() |

Grr...DR against bludgeoning?
Noting the creature's resilience to blunt-force-trauma, Exiel drops his club (free action) and pulls a stake from his boot (move action).
I should clarify that my earlier movement into the room was a 5ft step, so I still have my move action. =) No AoO from the creature since it is grappled, unless it has some special ability.

![]() |

With that number 2 on me, am I grappled as well, or is it just in my square?
Round 4
"AHHH GET IT OFF GET IT OFF!"
Tripp frantically tries o stab at the snake with his short sword.
Short Sword: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (10) - 1 = 91d4 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0

MiniGM |

1d20 ⇒ 1 Tripp fails to hit the snake as it follows him into his new square.
1d20 ⇒ 11 nor does Darinius
1d20 ⇒ 20 Gorou, however manages to cut the snake in half no damage roll needed
The beast drops Shiori and attacks
1d20 ⇒ 8 which hits only because she is prone dealing 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5, then it tries to grab her again
1d20 ⇒ 19 which it does and is drains more of her blood.
Go heroes, someone kill this thing

Shiori Kaijitsu |

stablize: 1d20 - 5 ⇒ (14) - 5 = 9 Shiori just manages not to stabilize thanks to the con damage. 2 con damage means I lost 1 hp from con drain, so I'm at -5 well -6 now out of 10

![]() |

Oh dear... Does it still has the grappled condition?
Let go of her you disgusting creature! Exiel snarls as he attempts to plunge a stake into the back of the creature's head.
Attack Roll:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Damage:1d4 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Narissth |

Round 5
Deciding that it is too hard to hit through all the bodies, Narissth turns and attempts to put an arrow into the snake playing with Tripp.
Attack-bow: 1d20 + 6 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (2) + 6 + 1 - 4 = 5
Damage: 1d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 + 1 = 3
Once more the shot is well wide of the target.
EDIT - got ninjaed because I was on the page for a while. The shot misses the creature by even more.

![]() |

Am heading out on work errands, will likely be off-air for about 4-6 hours. If the creature is still standing next round, Exiel will try to stab it again.
Attack 1:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Damage1d4 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Attack 2:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Damage1d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Attack 3:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Damage1d4 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Attack 4:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Damage1d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Gorou Kaijitsu |

Round 5? 6?
"Shiori, no!" Gorou shouts, swinging his massive nodachi blade at the faceless horror again. The sheer terror of it resisting two solid blows and watching his sister be brutalized makes the shaky blow miss completely.
Attack on thing: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

Thribden Malkut Diniya |

Thribden, seeing that Shiori is not looking well, grabs her holy symbol, and pulls it off her neck, with a quick snap. She presents it quickly, concentrating on it. Energy bursts from it, but somehow misses the strange creature and the snake that's still alive.
1d6 ⇒ 6
Channel energy, selective channeling, exclude the creature and the snake.
