Shiori tumbles past the creature and places her dagger firmly in what she believes to be the creature's knee once she is opposite Mary. Mary has her morningstar out still right?
Mary Roseblossom |
Wow, have a busy day at work and just now have a chance to go and the combat isover already.
Mary, startled at the speed of the thing and its quick demise, looks to see if there are any further threats before moving up to heal Vis.

Here you go Vis. Hope this helps a bit in recovering from that creature. Perhaps next time you should not stand in the doorway. At least I moved out after I got hit. Nice return stroke by the way.

Just as the combat ends there is a loud snapping sound, Koy and Mary turn just in time to see two more coribies have turned a catapult to launch at them, unfortunately for them it breaks apart thought the stone flies It slams into the ground where Mary is
[ooc] Mary make a DC 14 reflex or take 2d6 ⇒ (5, 2) = 7 damage

Mary, unable to dodge the stone takes a full hit. Oww, stupid birds.
Mary heals herself from the damage thanking quietly Koya for the many lessons in healing. 1d8 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 2 = 6
Mary then loads her crossbow ready to take a shot at the birds next round.
Dang it, at hte rate they are hittin gI am going to be out of spells soon. 2 spells left and 3 channels for the day. No chance that they needed to actually roll to hit or that I get cover from the wall next to me is there?
Shiori Kaijitsu |
"Stupid birds indeed." Shiori adds, noting their bodies under the broken catapult. "We should keep moving, there may be more of them, and staying still may only invite them to converge upon us."
Mary Roseblossom |
Letting Vis go first Mary pokes her head in and takes a look around the building where the spider was to see if there is anything of interest there, if the spider or the other creature had a lair, etc.
Perception 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11

Koy moves in and letting Or-chid climb back up on her shoulder.
Lets search this quickly and then move on. Somewhere is going to be whatever treasure these strange birds and spiders have acquired.

Cast Detect Magic - not that I expect to find anything
Mary Roseblossom |
well so much for finding anything in here. Lets head back out and choose another location to get ambushed at.
It looks like there is a door just south of where the stable is. MAry will head over there and listenin at the door for anything moving so as to not have an open door at their back if that is ok with everyone.
perception 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16

If we need to spend more time then perhaps we should being the bodies of the fallen with us to show Spivey we are true to our word. She might be able to tell us more about this place if we prove ourselves to her.

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
"Finding a defensible place that we could potentially spend the night sounds like a good idea." At Vis' suggestion of checking the south door, Shiori leaves the stables and examines the door leading south.
Mary Roseblossom |
Perception 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
In entering the defense tower Mary takes a look around for anything of interest. Strewn about the floor are old broken longbows and arrows. On the wall in one place is a stain that old have been blood at one time. Mary will point these things out to everyone, I don't know how long ago, but at some point a fight must have broken out here. Not surprising as this is a castle and a stronghold for the village. Monsters, raiders, what have you attacking the village the people would run here for protection. Surprising that no one cleaned up afterwards though.
Visirik Shadokage |
No its not. Not if they lost. Or starved. If they didnt the keep amd town wouldn't be occupied by bones and monstrosities. Vis shakes his head and murmurs a prayer for thise who died in defense of this place.
Mary Roseblossom |
Ok to move on for a few more areas to explore before turning back. The more foes vanquished the better 'proof' we have to show Spivey.
If we do continue on then, Perhaps we should finish exploring this courtyard at least to make sure there are no other functioning catapults or other siege weapons tht could target us as we leave?
Shiori Kaijitsu |
"Well, if we were going to rest here, it would be a little cramped, but it would be defensible for sure." Shiori states, taking a look around the small room. "I wouldn't recommend sleeping here though, there would just be too many bodies in such a small place."
Mary Roseblossom |
It may not be defensible but we can look to the east at the rest of the courtyard before we start looking at the main castle itself. Clear everything out here before going in so we are not trapped.
Mary Roseblossom |
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
As there are other humanoid beings present she will motion for the others to come forward quickly, both for back up if they are hostile and also for lines of communication if Mary does not speak their language.
Mary Roseblossom |
Mary will wait until the others catch up and inform them of the development. Perhaps it would be wise to stay on the far side away from the corner they went around. That way we can see them and they us before we are adjacent to each other. They could be afraid of us or luring us into a trap. Either way we must be cautious.
Mary Roseblossom |
Excellent idea both of you. Koytine distracts them and finds out their motives while Vis gets into position to ambush them if need be. I can be on the far side with my crossbow providing ranged support but still move up for healing if we need it.
Koytine Pfanak |
Koy will cast Silent image and create an image of Mary "stealthily" moving around the corner. First, the image will just stick its head around the corner. If this does not draw out the bad guys, then she will draw her weapon and move out a little farther.
Cast: Silent Image - Will DC17 once interacted with.
