Thribden Malkut Diniya |

Thribden steps back, then reaches down, healing Gorou.
Rebuke Death: 1d4 ⇒ 3
It'll, take two turns, but I'm trying to get Gorou back to enough health that one shot won't bring him down.

Narissth |

Seeing his shots having some effect, Narissth continues to fire arrows at the goblin king.
Attack-longbow: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 6 + 1 = 27
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 6 + 1 = 14
Damage: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (3, 2) + 2 = 7
The arrow hits a vulnerable area, but not deep enough to do serious damage.

![]() |

As Narissth's arrow sinks into the goblin's flesh and Thribden steps back to heal Gorou, Exiel moves in to cover the cleric, staring down the goblin king with his bloodied club in hand.
"I said you were dealing with me, you cretin! Do I need to make my point again?"
Smite attack roll: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
Smite damage roll: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
I hope I can hold out until Thribden brings Gorou back to his feet...come on, Thribden...

MiniGM |

the gob king is fighting with a longspear
The goblin sees his choices of humans are limited, with only Exiel who looks human but not quite (he doesn't know that his favored enemy will work) and he also sees a healer at work and he is not completely stupid.
1=Ex 2=Thrib 1d2 ⇒ 2
He lashes out from atop his throne at Thrib
1d20 ⇒ 12 but the shaft glances off of Exiel's shoulder and no one is harmed
the remaining goblin steps over bodies and provokes from Exiel 1d20 ⇒ 7 who misses, then it attacks Narristh 1d20 ⇒ 12 and he misses.
Go heroes. Need stabilize rolls from Darinius and Shiori

Narissth |

Narissth calls to the others:
Thrib, if you can call upon your god, now is a good time.
Exiel, help me with this flanker.
Will delay hoping that Thribden will channel and heal/stabilize everyone. I do not think that 9 as been hit, so you only need to exclude 8 and 1. I will ready an action to shoot at 9 as soon as Thribden acts or heals people.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 6 + 1 = 15
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Thribden Malkut Diniya |

Right, for now Thribden will follow through with her original plan.
Reaching out to Gorou, Thribden calls upon her god. As Gorou wakes, she steps back again.
CLW: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Followed by another 5' step. I can't move myself right now. If someone else would please, I would much appreciate it.

Thribden Malkut Diniya |

Dang, I was hoping for more.

![]() |

Exiel's mind races as things the battle continues to go semi-pear-shaped.
Damn! He's not going for me! And we still don't know what those odd arrows do, but he appears far more skilled with the bow than the spear. And if I had to guess, I'd say those arrows are a last-resort-panic-button...if that's the case, I'm sure as all hell not going to let him press it!
Also, I don't think the goblin king has many hp left - he's taken several hits by now.
I'm also guessing he drank like a potion of false life or aid before the battle, 'cos damn he has alot of hp for a goblin! Especially for a fight against level 1 characters!
Sorry Narissth, but I'm afraid that if we push the goblin into using his bow and those arrows, we'll all be done for! But I can try to get his attention away from the rest of you guys!
"I'm going to force you to pay attention here, goblin scum! And after I knock you out, I think I just might write all over your ugly face!"
Smite attack:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
Smite damage:1d6 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
-------------------------------------
===>Disregard the portion below if I knock out the goblin king.<===
Regardless of hit or miss, Exiel will 5ft step south (token moved) and pick up the goblin's bow! No AoO from goblin 1 since he's using a reach weapon and so does not threaten adjacent squares. Exiel now holding club in right hand and goblin bow in left.

Narissth |

He has a bunch of Ranger levels at the very least. Rapid Fire as a bonus feat. FE Human. Probably 4 levels, because I think he is +2 and not +4 on the FE. Have to assume he would have gone +4 if he was level 5.

Thribden Malkut Diniya |

Gorou was already stable from when I used rebuke death on him.
As the king falls and the other goblin drops his club, Thribden quickly bends down, touching first Darinius then Shiori.
Rebuke Death: Darinius: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Rebuke Death: Shiori: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Immediately after, she looks around at all the bodies, living and dead. She seems to sense something about them that others cannot.
Using sla of deathwatch to see stays of everyone.

Narissth |

Narissth stands ready with his bow nocked and prepared to fire at the goblin should it do anything.
He then looks at the others.
What do we do with this one. Someone put the others out of their misery, especially the big one, and then lets finish cleaning this wreck.

Thribden Malkut Diniya |

Thribden points out the boss and other two, These three are still alive. Once they are seen to, she sets to healing.
Rebuke Death: Darinius: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Rebuke Death: Darinius: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Rebuke Death: Shiori: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Channel Energy: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Okay, that's all my dailies. That should put Gorou and Darinius at 4, and Shiori at 3. Everyone else is full health.
CLW: Darinius: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
And Darinius is full health.
Out of magic, Thribden begins binding the wounds and taking care of the other two. I am sorry, I am out of healing magic, but I will care for you.
Treat Deadly Wounds: Gorou: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Treat Deadly Wounds: Shiori: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
However as Thribden tries to treat them she fumbles and is unsuccessful in doing anything immediately.

Hefting a very bloodied club (the same one that took down the goblin king), Exiel looms over the last goblin and poses a question.
"Say we let you live... what are you going to do?"

Shiori Kaijitsu |

Without even thanking Thribden first for bringing her back to consciousness, Shiori slices off the ears of the goblin king, not caring weather he still lives or not as she does.
She then turns to Thribden and thanks her, "Thank you very much for your assistance." Turning to the still standing goblin, she points the tip of her dagger at it, the chief's blood dripping from the tip of her blade. "Your people started this, you invaded Sandpoint, and if given the chance, you know that you would do it again, why should we even dream of sparing you."

Gorou Kaijitsu |

Gorou just lays in the puddle of slowly mixing goblin and human blood on the floor for a while, groaning. When he finally gets up, he looks really tired. "I don't think I've ever been knocked unconscious so many times as since I joined up with you guys. This job f~&!ing sucks! It better pay enough for me to buy some better armor..." He puts a hand on Thribden's shoulder. "Thank you so much, you are the best," he says solemnly.

Thribden Malkut Diniya |

Sorry, I missed that (actually only one hour each, but a total of two). I'll do that after we figure out the goblin and find a resting spot, even though I know I'll already fail.

Gorou Kaijitsu |

1d20 ⇒ 19
Confirm: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14 Hits flat footed AC
Damage: 2d10 + 12 ⇒ (5, 8) + 12 = 25
Seeing that one goblin is still alive and talking, Gorou growls before cutting its head off with a single blow. "You missed one, Exiel.." he says afterward.

Thribden Malkut Diniya |

Thribden does.
I'd like to hear what he has to say.
Init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20

![]() |

I'm inclined to think I'd need a sense motive to realise what Gorou was about to do to, otherwise Gorou would have acted in a 'surprise round'.
I'll leave MiniGM to determine the DC.
Sense motive: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (8) - 2 = 6
Initiative if Exiel realised what Gorou was about to do: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22

![]() |

Ok, pretty sure Exiel does not intervene in time, since Gorou acted before Exiel even realised Gorou was going to just up-and-gut the goblin. Let's see if Thribden manages to stop Gorou...

Darinius |

Darinius rises from his dirt nap and nods in thanks to Thribden. As he sees what Gorou is going to do he hopefully manages to blurt out.
Init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Wait. Kill it after... Is as far as Darinius manages to get with his sentence.

![]() |

In my defense I didn't see the "I tell you story" thing until after I posted. However what's done is done.
I reckon you were swinging just as the goblin started speaking. XD
I also think you still need to roll init vs Thribden and Darinius. =)
Also, are we sticking with the 'keep all out-of-game comments in discussion' idea?

![]() |

Exiel stares at the decapitated goblin he'd just been speaking with, his eyes wide and his body frozen as his mind races to process what had just happened.
Finally, he speaks.
"Gorou... um... how do I say this. WHAT THE ABYSS? He'd surrendered! He was no longer a threat! We could have taken him into custody, possibly try to reform him if he was amenable, or otherwise give him a chance to earn his release. If nothing else, he could have told us something useful! In fact, it sounded like he was going to just before you executed him!"
*sigh*
"Look. I appreciate your courage, and I respect it. You've willingly put yourself at the forefront of our group, and have suffered alot of pain for that. And I also know that goblins have caused your family in particular significant grief. I know what they...and your half-brother did...to Lonjiku. So I can't bring myself to blame you for this. But...a wise man once told me that a man who is quick to draw blood brings harm to all around him, including himself. He also taught me that often allies can be found amongst former enemies. Both are sayings worth heeding."
"I will say no more about this for now, but I hope that in future you will not be so quick to kill those who have surrendered. If nothing else, it presents an opportunity for so much more than the mere sating of bloodlust, regardless of how justified that bloodlust is."
With that, Exiel falls silent. He looks once more at the murdered goblin, and lets out a long sigh through his pursed lips.
We should probably move to looting and searching the room next, but I figure other people may have things to say too. XD

Gorou Kaijitsu |

"I....uhh...he....goblin? He'd just been trying to kill us, there's no way I was going to trust him after that. Next time I'll wait for interrogation. Sorry," Gorou replies to Exiel, looking a little ashamed.

Thribden Malkut Diniya |

Thribden clicks her tongue, sighing out the rest of her sentence slowly, . . . has to say. . . .
She moves around to the corpse and begins to pray. Once she is done she looks up, What's done is done. The Grey Lady controls the hands of fate. It must have been his time to meet her judgment.

Shiori Kaijitsu |

Shiori places a hand on her brother and tells him comfortingly, "If you hadn't done it, chances are, I would have."

MiniGM |
