"Ugh...I hate spiders...thank goodness I don't think I'm poisoned, but it got a pretty good bite in..."
Noting the fallen spider, however, he is quick to add with a broad grin.
"But I still hit harder."

![]() |

I need some healing, but unless Thribden wants to spend a spell on a CLW, we should probably save on the channel till more of us are hurt. I'm happy to sit on 5hp until then. Darinius, do you want to take point in the mean time? I'm happy to be in second beside Shiori.
So...pressing on?

Shiori Kaijitsu |

"Well, it looks like someone had a good last meal." Shiori says, taking note of the creature's rather large dining partner.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16<-Guessing I can't find anything either.

Narissth |

Narissth looks to the others:
I grew up in tunnels. Why don't we stick to one side to avoid getting lost. We started left, lets hold to the left wall so that we know how to get out if this gets much bigger.
I don't really care. Usually I say right is right, but we started down the left side, so I figure a logical party would stay to the left to get the size and layout of the place.

Thribden Malkut Diniya |

Thribden nods appreciatively at Exiel's handling of the spider. She listens to Narissth, then looks around, One way is as good as another, unless we have a reason. As far as getting lost, we could also mark our trail. She shrugs at the suggestion, waiting to hear from the others.

Narissth |

Narissth shrugs:
And what would you make it with? Rats, the little ones, tend to eat bread crumbs.
I am good with the majority. Darinius and Exiel have voted right, so lets go that way. If we run into trouble the generally quiet ratman will speak up more next time.

MiniGM |

Our heroes come out into a large cavern with about a 3 foot deep pool of brackish water, with slippery algae at the bottom, certainly it would be hard to move through without slipping. After carefully searching the room they find nothing of interestst, however to the southwest they do see some rocks that are reflecting the light of the cantrip...those with an eye for loot see an opportunity for profit.
the yellow stars are the rocks that shine

Narissth |

Narissth's keen eyes pick up the shine, just like finding a stray gold piece in the sewers.
Anyone good at swimming? Or agile enough to see what is there? It looks like it might have some value.

Shiori Kaijitsu |

"Lets say just for a moment that someone was, why would we want to swim in that?" Shiori asks, noting the composure of the water. "Besides, it doesn't look deep enough to have to swim, but I still wouldn't want to go in it."

Narissth |

With nobody else making a decision, Narissth offers to go.
Tie a rope to me incase I need to be pulled back.
Once he is tied off, Narissth will carefully move out to see what the shiny stuff is.
Acrobatics(to keep my feet): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23

Shiori Kaijitsu |

perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Taking the rope, Shiori glances into the water as the rat goes for what is likely fool's gold.

Thribden Malkut Diniya |

Thribden looks dubious. Do you have a rope? I would tie one to you, but I have none.
Edit: Ninja'd.

MiniGM |

Narristh moves forward and approaches the water, with Exiel holding the rope.
As soon as Narristh toe touches the water it moves and strikes out at him, dungeoneering check
1d20 ⇒ 11 for 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 and 1d3 ⇒ 2 acid
then it attempts to grab Narristh 2d20 ⇒ (20, 18) = 38 and it does and it immediately begins to crush Narristh 2d3 + 1 ⇒ (2, 3) + 1 = 6
[NOTE the bad guy won init and I have already taken its action, it maintained its grapple and squiched on Narristh[/ooc]
Narristh is staggered
Go Heroes

Narissth |

Did it hit me? I just realized that my flatfooted AC was screwed up. FF AC is 16, not 14. (+5 Armor, +1 Size). I would probably also be holding the buckler although I had not said this. Pretty much if I am not carrying the bow, then I would logically be carrying the buckler for defense.

![]() |

Acid damage...low AC...so...some kind of ooze?
"What the abyss...is even the water in this cave out to kill us?"
With a great heave, Exiel yanks at the rope, attempting to hoist Narissth out of the water and away from whatever watery creature is grabbing and smothering him.
I couldn't find any rules on pulling someone out of a grapple...so I'll go with beating it with a stick instead!
Exiel is the first to charge in, pulling a club from his sash and giving the watery creature a sound thumping!
Attack roll:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Damage roll:1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Incidentally, he will be using the club that does not have any notches on it.

Shiori Kaijitsu |

I knew I had a bad feeling about that water for a reason, surely goblins wouldn't leave anything shiny!
Dagger: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 161d4 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2
Shiori will slash at the creature with her dagger, but as it doesn't seem to have any real anatomy she cannot find a way to deal extra damage to it.

Thribden Malkut Diniya |

I was with you Shiori. Oh well. Time to kill it now.
Untrained Kn. (Dungeon): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Bleh.
Thribden pulls out one of her undecorated daggers, hefting it for a moment, before throwing it at the creature.
Attack: 1d20 - 4 ⇒ (15) - 4 = 11
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Come on Darinius. 7 more damage!

Darinius |

Darinius fatally slashes through the mass holding Narissth.
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
7 damage. Ask and ye shall receive!

Thribden Malkut Diniya |

Thribden rushes forward, pressing her hand to Narissth's wound. He glows with energy momentarily, then he wakes.
Rebuke Death: 1d4 ⇒ 2
She looks down at the creature that had attacked Narissth, Somebody make sure that thing is dead. Once it is taken care of, Thribden holds her holy symbol then channels energy through it.
Channel Positive, Excluding the Creature, just in case: 1d6 ⇒ 6
You'll have to live with that for now, she says pointing to the mild wound on his side. This place is dangerous, I intend to conserve my magic as long as I can.

Darinius |

Darinius looks skeptically at the crystals from the bottom of the pool.
Appraise: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
You would think that they do something at least.
Looks like we missed a room along the passageway to this larger room.

Shiori Kaijitsu |

"Did you really think that goblins would just leave gold lying in the water?" Shiori asks Narissth, not entirely surprised by what happened.

Narissth |

Narissth, despite his recent brush with death and confused by his companions complete lack of activity, moves over to investigate the bodies.
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Is anyone else around?

![]() |

Yeah...my home group had a protocol with dead bodies...if there was a paladin, the first thing he had to do was to:
Exiel focuses on his attention on the bodies, expanding his consciousness to perceive any malign auras emanating from them.
Detect evil on the bodies. I recommend a detect magic as well. Evil aura + necromancy aura = undead 99% of the time.

Shiori Kaijitsu |

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Knowledge (any;untrained): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Shiori notices absolutely nothing about the skeletons.

![]() |

"Hold on, guys," Exiel says softly as he hand a club each to Darinius and Shiori. "I think you guys will need this shortly. I'm quite sure those things are undead."
Sorry Narissth, my clubs are too big for your hand. =(
He then turns to the nearest skeleton, walks to within 10ft of it with one of his remaining clubs in each hand, and chucks one of them at the skeleton.
Attack roll: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Damage roll: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Edit: O_O Wow...another 20? Nice!
Confirmation roll:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Crit damage roll:1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
lol with that damage, I hope that was a double-advanced skeleton with class levels...otherwise, that's some serious overkill... XD
