Shiori Kaijitsu
Init: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Exiel.
|
No the second you crossed into the room this happened.
Well then, smite evil on the skeleton who challenged me. If he goes before me, I'll move to him to smite him provided the other skeletons do not animate. If they do animate, I'll smack the nearest one.
If I go before him...hmm...I'll move to him and smite his ass. The rest of you are right behind me, right? Right?
Attack roll: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17+4 more if smiting
Damage!: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10+2 more if smiting
And my AC against the smited skeleton is 18.
Narissth
Did the skeleton get 2 move actions and an attack? I would have thought that standing was a move action and moving across the room was another move action.
Shocked by the sudden fall of the Paladin, Narissth once more fires at the skeleton:
Attack-longbow: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
But the arrow harmlessly (I assume) ricochets off the fleshless bones.
Darinius
I think that he gave the skeleton a surprise round as well as Exiel.
I will be back with an action shortly, as soon as I figure out exactly what I will do. It is going to involve snagging Exiel and pulling him back to the party.
Shiori Kaijitsu
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16 If that is high enough, I would like to move to the square with the 6 on it.
Shiori will attempt to move past the skeleton and take up a defensive stance. Total Defense, AC is 20 for the round.
Darinius
It's a :) to us...
Seeing Shiori position herself, Darinius moves to pick up Exiel's dropped club and join the fray.
5ft., pick up the club and total defense.
Narissth
Narissth continues to fire hoping against hope that an arrow eventually strikes home.
Attack-longbow: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 6 + 1 = 8
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
And the arrow flies well wide of its mark striking the roof somewhere behind the skeleton.
MiniGM
Hmm what shall thrib do...thrib channels to harm the skeleton
Rolls a 3 but it saves so can someone put up 1 pt of damage
The skeleton turns to its new foe darinius and 5 ft steps over exiels body and swings but the blow clangs off his armor (grrr 7 on the die. Wasted my good roll on the save)
Go heroes if someone can make those changes on the map
Thribden Malkut Diniya
Dang I was going to try to drag ex away. Oh well, busy day at work, couldn't be helped. I'll post round two soon.
Shiori Kaijitsu
Dagger: 1d20 + 3 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (7) + 3 + 2 - 4 = 8 Defensive fighting, AC is 18.
While still in a bit of a defensive stance, Shiori tries to strike the creature with her dagger, but focuses too much on defense to land a blow.
Narissth
Deciding that his bow is unlikely to be particularly effective against this skeleton, Narissth moves forward and picks up one of the clubs dropped by Exiel. He also draws his buckler as he moves.
Thribden Malkut Diniya
Thribden moves forward, casting a spell as she goes.
Bless. You all have +1 Morale bonus on attack rolls.
Narissth
Despite the nasty gash in his side and hoping he can do some damage with the club, Narissth swings it at the skeleton.
Attack-club: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17 <-- add +2 if Shiori moves to flank.
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Darinius
Ah, crap, I was thinking aiding Narissth in his attack. I'll save the 1st lvl dogpile for next round now.
Darinius joins the fun and attacks the skeleton as well, still fighting defensively (AC 19)
Attack: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (6) + 2 - 4 = 4 +2 depending on where Shiori is standing but it is not going to matter.
Thribden Malkut Diniya
Wow, this is not good. I'll have time to post my action in about an hour.
Shiori Kaijitsu
Sorry, Nari, but Darinius is the more logical choice for me to flank with, and moving to flank with you means moving into a square with less space, although Darinius is less likely to hit with the plus 2 then you are, I'm going to have to stay flanking with him
Dagger: 1d20 + 3 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (14) + 3 + 2 - 4 = 151d4 - 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (4) - 1 + (6) = 9 Defensive fighting+flank
Shiori swings her dagger wildly at the skeleton, trying to find a weak spot. Please hit, that's max damage, lol...of course it's likely reduced to 4 damage after his stupid DR.
Also Gm is correct, the club should be a 2 handed weapon for Nari.
Narissth
Hmmm, I understand the -2 to the attack, but wouldn't switching between holding the club with 1 hand and 2 hands be free actions? If so, then couldn't I simply release the hand holding the club with the buckler on it? I know that the description of the buckler says you lose the advantage of the buckler for the rest of the turn, but I interpret this as if you continue to hold the weapon with 2 hands.
My attack should be at -2 then. If I am not going to get the advantage of the buckler, then I will drop it to avoid any further penalties.
Darinius
Depending on the geometry of where the skeleton is supposed to be (specifically whether that bit of wall sticking out gives me cover) I might change my action to grabbing Exiel so we can GTFO.
Thribden Malkut Diniya
I'm with Darinius. Sometimes you gotta retreat and regroup. Wait is the skeleton standing on ex? I thought I saw him sitting in the corner earlier?
Darinius
In that case I am going to chance my action for this round. Disregard the attack. Hopefully Exiel is ok with me saving him.
Darinus grabs Exiel's body by one of the many straps on his backpack and hauls him out of danger, depositing him beside Thribden before heading back into battle to help the others extract themselves from combat. He almost does not believe that he is running back towards danger with hardly a second thought. Narissth, Miss Kaijitsu. Get out of there!
Grab Exiel, then move three squares back, drop him as a free action and move three squares back up. Unless the ruling is that I can't take a free action in the middle of another action in which case I can't move back up.
Thribden Malkut Diniya
I can't. Posting from my phone, but that clears up what my action is.
Thribden rushes forward, grabbing Exiel and dragging him out of the room as far as she can. We gotta get out of here.
Edit: ninja'd
Thribden channels energy through her holy symbol then backs up.
Channel to heal: 1d6 ⇒ 6
I believe that's my last channel. Then I retreat.
Thribden Malkut Diniya
Heal. I'm trying to make sure everyone can get away. We can't handle two unconscious bodies.
Exiel.
|
Next time we won't go easy on the skeleton either...
*cough* *cough* *splutter* "Now I know how Gorou felt before he got fed up with this whole thing. Being at the front is painful! And damn that thing was fast, and hit pretty darn hard too. We're going to need a plan if we're going defeat it. Thribden, does your goddess grant you any abilities (spells) that are especially useful against such creatures?"
Narissth
Narissth limps back out with the others.
I really do not like getting hit. With a bow I should be attacking from a distance, but this is completely useless against skeletons like this.
Shiori Kaijitsu
"I can't say that my dagger is greatly effective either." Shiori says glancing down at her weapon.
