Erik calls daylight to his blade and channels it at the closest ghoul. Though he is no cleric, Erik's light is just as strong as any holy fire. The brilliance of the display also helps to smother Kelgan's flames.

Standard Action: Song of the New Dawn on G3; 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22 vs. REF for 2d8 + 6 ⇒ (6, 1) + 6 = 13 radiant damage and on a hit, Kelgan can make two saves against his ongoing damage and take the higher result.

Minor Action: Sustain Canon of Defense

Minor Action: Majestic Word; Kelgan may spend a surge and gain 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 extra HP. Kelgan may also slide one square as a free action.

Male Half-Orc Fighter 8

No longer bloodied.

Erik's light incincerates the ghoul clutched in Kelgan's arms.

Kelgan - you can make two saves v the ongoing force damge and use the higher. I've taken the liberty of sliding you so you can set up a flank for Brujo.

Brujo smile widens as his dagger bites deeps. Twisting hard, he restores death to the undead.

Subtle dagger: (2d6 extra damage with CA)
1d20+134=28 - Brujo v G2. Hits.
1d4+5=9 plus 2d6=10. Total 19 damage to the ghoul.

Now only the Commander remains. Snatching up the papers, he turns in substantial and shifts towards the far door, opening it.

"Two can play traitor, Nialla. The great project will be completed and you will not live to see it."

Move, then charge CA, ending in F15: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (10) + 16 = 261d10 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16

Kelgan bounds jovially across the room and pins the Commander into a corner, slicing into him as he does so.

i'm here. i got a new computer and i had the wrong page favorited. Acid Orb on CA, +12 vs Ref, 26, if hit, 1d10+13 or 19 acid damage.

"So nice of you to drop your defenses to open the door. Perigia, shut the door on him, will you?" Hobbes says after he casts an Acid Orb on the Commander.

These boards hate me tonight so my post will be brief.

Move to L7

Cutting Words on Commander; 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29 vs. WILL for 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9 psychic damage and on a hit, pull target to G14

Erik strides into the room with a pointed aphorism on his lips. His words give the Commander pause, and the heartbeat of time is enough for the bard to yank the creature way from the door.

His spellscar flaring in protest or sympathy, Brujo pounds across the room, blade held high. As the blow lands, frost forms in the wound, slowing the Commander Accordant

Move and charge
1d20+13=29 - Brujo v CA
1d8+5=7

Activating daily power of the Frost scimitar to slow CA to end Brujo's next turn.

All too aware that his minutes are numbered, the Commander Accordant shimmers slightly and moves through Kelgan and then mist-like around the edge of the opened door.

Changing Shift. Shifts two squares and can move through enemy spaces.

Spellplague Spirit. Insubstantial and can move through enemy spaces making an attack as he goes as well as through porous objects that would otherwise prevent movement (i.e. through a crack in a window or a door.

Kelgan gets an OA as the Commander Accordant moves away from him.

Kelgan makes a grab for the commander as he drifts away.

Yeah, I know he'd just automatically break the grab next turn by drifting through, I don't really care. He still stops if he's hit thanks to Combat Superiority. Grappling Strike as an OA(2 damage on a miss): 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (2) + 17 = 191d10 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12

"Going back to your masters? But we've just started!" Kelgan moves around the corner and does... something.

Moving to D15, and probably charging something since there's no way we'd get a short rest in with the boss in the next room. Charge: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (13) + 15 = 281d10 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

Kelgan misses the Commander Accordant as it passes through him, but his relentless pursuit brings him through the door and next to his victim.

Spoiler:
It all presents him with the sight of a large and clearly carnivorous plant guarding a glowing portal. The Commander Accordant is clearly looking for a way through.

"Don't let him get away!" Hobbes cries as he flings another acid spell at the Commander.

Hobbes - where are you moving to? There is no way you can get LoS on the Commander Accordant from your present position. I've put you as close as I sensibly can, without double moving, but the Commander Accordant will have cover, regardless.

Hobbes strides into the room and sends a glob of acid around the tricky corner to damage the nearly hidden Commander. Spellscarred flesh sizzles, but the Commander does not fall.

Erik moves to the door, weapon and shield in hand.

Put me at L19.

Erik heads for the door.

Recognising that attack from two fronts may be needed here, Brujo puts his head down and runs to join Kel.

The vine sends roots burrowing through the floor. The shoots bloom immediately, reaching hungrily for Kelgan and Ceara. A third shoot sprouts in Kel's path, but cannot reach him.

Poison Leash (Fort); Reach 2. On hit target takes 5 ongoing poison (se)

1d20+14=32 - S2 v Kelgan. Hits. 1d8+4=12 plus 5 ongoing poison
10 damage to Ceara, 12 damage to Kelgan. Both taking 5 ongoing poison (se)

The Commander Accordant gasps and shifts through the grasping roots, still heading for the portal.

Changing Shift allows him to move through the vines. Then a normal move.

I believe I'm tapped out for heals, so everyone is on their own for now. I'll try keep war song strike up for temps and keep better track of my virtue of valor.

Erik moves into the room rather brashly, daring Kelgan's held target to attack, and finally stabs with his blade for the first time this battle.

Minor Action: Sustain Canon of Avoidance on Kelgan.

Move Action: Move to I19, provoking OA from S1 who I assume is marked by Kelgan? No?

Standard Action: War Song Strike on S1; 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (4) + 13 = 17 vs. AC for 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11 damage and on a hit, allies gain 3 temp hp whenever they hit S1 until TEOMNT.

Kelgan didn't say he'd marked it, but I'm not sure a grabbed target can make an OA in any case. Anyone know for certain? I'll hold off rolling the attack until I know.

Erik moves lightly into the room, and stabs elegantly, but fruitlessly at the plant in Kelgan's embrace.

At the other doorway, Brujo appears beside Kel and sends a stream of debilitating blue flame into the parent vine. The plant slumps slightly under the impact.

Changing Ray (Will). On hit target is dazed to end next Brujo's next turn.

1d8+6=9 damage.
Not close enough to put his Aegis on anything.

S2 reaches hungrily for Erik and Ceara finds herself beset by two plants. One of them tries to knock her off her feet, but the wily changeling is alert to the danger and just manages to hold herself together. Neither she nor Erik can prevent the plants from sending poison coursing into their bodies.
