As Kelgan swings, nearly finishing G4, the creatures scream and attack, driven by ravenous hunger. G4 bites deep into Kelgan, restoring itself in the process.

Passing Consumption (Ref). Rechargeable immediate reaction. On hit, Ghoul makes Gut Maw attack without provoking an OA on an adjacent enemy who makes a melee attack against it. On hit, ghoul regains 19hp.
1d20+16=17 - G1 v Kelgan. Critical fail
1d20+16=32 - G4 v Kelgan. Hits. 2d8+3=12 force damage.
G4 is still bloodied.

Like I said, everyone of these bad guys has some weird thing we haven't dealt with before. First it was bad guys who form links with our guys to share damage. Then it was a combo of mental domination and ranged melee attacks(whips and chains). Now it is guys who heal themselves by eating/biting us. Wow. Rev, you are something else. What's next? Teleporters? :) (Just kidding. Please don't use teleporters.)

There is a kind of logic behind all this. A twisted and perverted logic, it's true, but it does exist.

Male Human Sorcerer 9

I think it's cool. And I'm not being a suck-up. O.K. I'm not just being a suck-up. :)

Go ahead and post Hobbes. I'll continue to delay Kel.

Male Human Sorcerer 9

"Is that any way you all can gather in the center of the room? That would really help." Hobbes asks the ghouls. Then he unleashes his lightning bolt.

Serpentine Blast on CA (+12 vs Ref, 30, if hit, 3d10+11, 23+11= 34 lightning damage. half on miss) then action point to cast Acid Orb on CA. +12 vs Ref, 29, if hit, 1d10+13, or 20 acid damage

And then he unleashes an Acid Orb. "Pull out the stops. This is the freak behind all this. Let's put an end to this madness."

Hobbes - you didn't state a move, so I took the liberty of placing you where you have line of sight.

"Me? I hardly think so. A proud contributor and vital link, certainly, but not the instigator. Look higher. Or lower. Or both," hisses the Commander.

Hobbes outlines the insubstantial figure in lightning and follows up with an agonising blast of acid. The blue form shimmers slightly, brushing aside half the impact of the attacks.

Insubstantial and taking half damage. Both attacks hit.

Move action to shift away, standard action for Second Wind. If you want to move that far, you need to either take an OA or spend an action point. EDIT: Of course, depending on where you were last turn you could be in L5. Still, you were in column 6 if I remember right, there's no way you'd get to column 2 in one regular shift.

There's no problem with a diagonal shift, but you can only shift one square unless you have a power that lets you do otherwise. All I meant was you couldn't get as far as K2 with a single square shift. My apologies if I was unclear.

Female - mostly. Changeling Assassin 8

Laughing manically, the 'succubus' steps through the shadows, to try and take some of the pressure off of Perigia even as she weaves death around the Commander.

Shroud 2 on CA. Shadwostep to L5. Inescabible Blade on G3. 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (10) + 13 = 23. On hit 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 and G3 has -2 to hit until EOMNT.

HP: 59/59
Surges: 9/9
AP: 1/1
Status: 2 shrouds on CA.

Kel's first arrow is enough to bring down G4 and the undead horror slumps to the ground, lifeless once more.
Second one is a miss.

Ceara darts into the room and narrowly misses G3, even as the threat of further doom lands on the Commander Accordant.

Standard Action: War Song Strike on G1; 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 15 vs. AC for 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13 damage and on a hit, any ally who hits G1 before TEOMNT gains 3 temporary HP.

Apologies. Been working on Youth Theatre shows all week and I will update in the morning. You are not forgotten - being this exhausted is very rare :)

Brujo shifts away from G2 and turns his attention the the ghoul adjacent to Kelgan. The loathsome undead blithely ignores the moonelf. Desperate to protect Perigia, he places G3 under his Aegis.

Shift, then Pressing Strike (AC); (allows a two square shift before attack. On hit target is pushed one square)
1d20+12=20 - Brujo v G1. Misses

Recharge roll for Blue Fire Succour: 1d6=5. Yes.

"You cowards." Kelgan opens his arms and invites the the ghouls to come at him. "Come and get me."

Shift to M8 and use Come And Get Me, marking all the ones who aren't marked by Brujo. G1 to M7, G3 to L7, CA to L9, and G2 stays where he is. After that, I'll use Rain of Steel(Stance, any enemy who starts it's turn next to me takes 1d10 damage as long as I can still make OAs). Now, four attack rolls against G1, G3, CA, and G2:

Spoiler:
1d20 + 14 ⇒ (18) + 14 = 321d10 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 141d20 + 14 ⇒ (1) + 14 = 151d10 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 101d20 + 14 ⇒ (18) + 14 = 321d10 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 151d20 + 14 ⇒ (5) + 14 = 191d10 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

EDIT: Add +1 to all the attacks and damage rolls, forgot the additional +1 to Strength.

waiting for the dust to settle

Kelgan's challenge brings the focus of the battle towards him, dragging the ghouls into a slavering circle, where he slams his blade into two of them. Unable to resist the temptation of the half-orc, two of the ghouls lunge at him, taking his powerful life-force for themselves.

Hits G1 and CA. G2 and G3 get to make a Passing Consumption attack as an immediate reaction on the miss.

Passing Consumption (Ref). Makes Gut Maw attack that doesn't provoke OAs
1d20+16=30 - G2 v Kelgan. Hits. 2d8+3=9 and ghoul regains 19 hp
1d20+16=24 - G3 v Kelgan. Hits. 2d8+3=15 and ghoul regains 19hp

With a demonic giggle, the 'succubus' appears behind the Commander, and drives a blade at his back, before vanishing once more, to appear near the ghouls

    Shroud 3 on CA. Inescapable Shadow, attacking with the scimitar. The power lets me teleport 5 before the attack as long as I end up adjacent to my Shroud Target. I port to L10, then attack, invoking the shrouds. 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (12) + 12 = 24. On hit: 2d8 + 3d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 8) + (6, 4, 3) + 6 = 29. On miss: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 3) = 9. After the attack, I shadowstep to N7

Ceara leaps, lunges and leaps again, but the Commander Accordant is too wily and the blow does only glancing damage to his insubstantial form.

"Who seduced you, Nialla? What possible reward can surpass our master's offer?" he asks as he sidles away from her attack.

Erik's note rings around the room, and in the aftermath the picture has changed as his compelling harmony pulls his allies and the ghouls to different places.

Hits G2 and G3, as you guessed. Put Kelgan L7 to flank with Ceara as she moved first and took N7.

Brujo moves in on the wounded ghoul, his spellscar flaring, slicing deep into the putrescent body as his blade flames in protest at the abomination.

    Greenflame Blade (AC)
    1d20+12=30

    1d20=11 - saves v ongoing force damage.

    1d20+15=22 - G1 v Kelgan. Misses

To Brujo's horror, the ghouls advance on Perigia once more, clearly regarding her as easy prey, but the wizard is made of stronger stuff than even he realised, and she stands her ground, defying the hideous creatures to hit her.

That wasn't there when I posted that. Anyway, I'm bloodied again and, since I used Rain of Steel last turn G1 took 1d10 ⇒ 6 damage, and maybe some other enemies did too, who knows?

Kelgan grabs the ghoul nearest to him and drives his blade into it's stomach.

    Grappling Strike on G1(2 damage on a miss thanks to Wrenching Grasp): 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (20) + 15 = 351d10 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15

    Crit, 2d6 + 17 ⇒ (4, 4) + 17 = 25 damage, and if that killed it I'll spend an AP to use Bash and Pinion on G3(Slide to K7 and grab target and -2 to it's attack until EOMNT on a hit, 2 damage on a miss) 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (20) + 15 = 351d10 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16

    Uh, that's 2d6 + 17 ⇒ (2, 2) + 17 = 21 damage for that one too, if I actually use it this turn.

Jeepers. That was impressive. I've listed G3 as grabbed, which is correct I think.

"I should have expected as much," says the Commander Accordant, viciously glowering at Ceara. He seems unmoved by the fate of his allies, but his eyes shift towards the loose papers on the adjacent body.
