Suny, to be honest, I'll definitely keep you in mind, but I'm not looking to make the game any bigger than it is right now. If Gram's player definitely decides he's just not going to have the time to play, I'll have you at the top of my waiting list.
Thanks for the interest though, and please feel free to keep lurking. I have several hams in this group (you know who you are, guys), and they love a good audience.

8O Oh my! :) I owe you a little sumtin-sumtin written in that other thread and I will get that for you this weekend... so don't have Suny runnin' off nowhere! Other thing you should be aware of here - we don't talk about that other thread or any other thread really. That's kind of a cardinal rule. :) Naz is cool, you aren't in trouble - we just respect this thread's independent integrity.

Well generally I try to give my actions ahead of time because of the fact that I work 3rd shift. However, as with this fight there are instances where things change from the original circumstances. In such instances, since you know I don't get to work until 11pm ET, and go to bed between noon and 2, just go ahead and move the combat along by NPCing Alexis if it's mid afternoon or later.

i like the idea of giving people a day or so to get their play in, but I understand that can bring a game to a crawl sometimes. To be honest, i'm not sure what to say to the question. I"m fine with people playing my character if you don't hear from me in a day or so, though. Or if i give the heads up that i'll be out, yall can obviously play Biter as his turn comes up.
Ravarath
Since I'm on PST, I may start a later than most folks do but I try to check the site at least 3 times a day, and monitor it more closely if it looks like my turn is coming up in the order. I guess I'd like a 4 hour grace period to play Rath if that is possible and won't cramp the gameplay. I will definitely inform you guys if I think I'm going to be out for an extended period. Barring all that, I'm happy to have Rath NPC'd if it will speed up play since, let's face it, Rath is pretty easy to play in combat. FLURRY everything when possible - full stop. :) Bottom-line, I'm willing to be NPCed pretty liberally if it speeds up play and Rath's moves are obvious. Biter has a good handle on how Rath reacts so I'm happy to have Ben co-opt him whenever it looks like I'm not likely to respond promptly.

Once the pirates on our ship are all dead and Alexis is out of immediate danger, I will be firing on everyone on that ship until I don't see any other movement! I am more than happy to cover Biter as he carves his way on board the other ship. If we just get Gram and Pete to follow you over we should try to finish the other pirates including the captain! Reverse piracy Ho!

Yah, my goal in the next round is to get over there and make it harder for them to leave... any help in such endeavors would be greatly appreciated. Any thoughts on how i can accomplish this? My first thought was simply to make my way up to the steering wheel thingy... what's it called? A helm or somesuch? I'm not sure I could disable the sails quickly, any thoughts?
Suny
Well, your problem of taking the fo'c'stle is it will be an up hill battle. That's assumin' th' ship even has a wheel and not a 'whip staff' as is common on most more primitive ships be havein'. In which case the person steering is actually inside a little room kind of below deck.
As for dissabling sails...the lines that run to the outside of the hull help brace them and keep them taunt. You want the ropes that attatch at the foot of the mast. These are the ones that are used to haul the sheets up and down. Though they are probably thick (Has you got a small hatchet/axe? maybe pick one off a Pirate?) You cut the ropes keeping the sails up and you stop the ship as the sails will tend to drop down the mast.
(^_^) yup, Suny has skill in bein' a sailor.
Suny
Dropping her large pack to the sand below, Suny swims upwards to catch the bodies floating down from above. Of course checking if any of them are leaking bubbles.
Perception:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Rescuing drowning sailors is a lucrative business. (^_~)
Not that I expect this Off topic thead to get reviewed/read or anything...
Suny
Um...don't you have to make Fort saves or something to 'stabilize'? As long as you're not at either "Minus 10" or your total in Con as a negative Biter should be all right. :)
*hugz* I rilly want to play too....

BTW, the PRD site now has a search function with predictive auto-completion! :D This was actually the first result.

Regarding identical number rolls... are you perhaps writing your first set, then previewing, then copying/pasting them again, then submitting the post?
I had some weirdness like that happen in the Bloodjaw fight in the Threat-thta-shall-not-be-named, and then i switched to writing them all out individually, or writing them all out on a different document, then mass-copying them all over in one big post.
I haven't' had the problem since.

Nope. I have a txt file with the whole flurry set-up, both blows and damage, pre-written. I just copy/paste the whole chunk in, preview it to add whatever embellishments it needs and fire it off. Only on these last two cycles has my data been exactly the same.
Nazard
It shouldn't matter. Think of it like we each have a pregenerated list of d-whatever rolls and the server just takes the next on the list. Once, I had done a big post with a bunch of attack rolls, realized that I had forgotten an NPC's attack right at the beginning, so edited the post. The d20 result from the first attack in the original post became the new attack, the second original became the first original, the third original became the second original, etc. If you are getting two sets of identical results, that's the just the wonders of randomness - your monkey just typed some Shakespeare.
Which is almost as disturbing an image as that of Biter and the giant centipede...
