Ravarath (Rath for short) is dark-skinned, bald-headed, and clearly fit - as anyone can attest who has glimpsed his body beneath his loose monk's gi and hakama. Despite having some pleasant facial features and unblemished skin, as a whole his face is slightly assymetrical which leads most viewers to consider him homely at best. Rath knows this about himself and is comfortable with it. Just as he also knows that he is not particularly bright or charismatic. He accepts these faults as humbling lessons the Universe provided to keep him grounded while he pursues his goal - which is the focus of his life.

Rath's goal is to achieve self-perfection and free himself from the bonds of karma that are enacted through the process of reincarnation. Rath roams the world(s), seemingly at random, searching for new experiences. He believes that the Universe, or Irori, or the Lords of Karma sets the adventures before him as a path to enlightenment and a test of his worthiness. He feels that every adventure / odd job / learning experience is a stepping stone on the path to spiritual liberation.

Rath is highly self-disciplined, despite his seemingly aimless journey. His brand of lawfulness extends to following his own personal code (regardless of local laws), showing unswerving loyalty to his friends, and an overarching belief in the orderliness of the Universe. In general, he is soft-spoken, introspective, rarely says two words when one will do, and is amiable. Some people, based on his retiring demeanor, assume Rath is a pacifist. This is an error a few have come to regret. Rath believes that combat is as instructive as any other experience and he pursues martial excellence as another test of his own worthiness.
