Hopefully, that invitation email went out successfully and you are able to view and edit the google site. I don't know if you have to have a gmail account to edit or not. Please let me know if it's working/not working for you.
Got the invite, it worked perfectly. I did have to use my normal gmail password to login... so folks may need an account. I like all the pictures of Biter on the homepage! I didn't check everyone's story - but a few of them are definitely up and visible. So thumbs up!

Heh! Those came with the site template I borrowed. I've figured out how to replace them, but until I have something to replace them with...
Rath, come join us in the main thread, and introduce yourself to the few who have arrived.
Nazard
You got the campaign site up in record time. Template or not, as someone who runs their own wikis I'm impressed with how polished it is in so short a time. Bravo!
I went ahead and added Teri to the NPC log just to try it out. Pretty slick, Nazard. :)
Heh. Please don't give me any credit whatsoever. It's all the template. I just had to figure out how to edit the sidebar to add players, since the template only came with 7.

I added a link on the left hand side of the website to a Golarion calendar, and you can see the current date is Sunday, Gozran 4, 4707 AR.

We're due July 1st... so it's kind of getting real now. Also, as Biter and Rav have somewhat of an acquaintance going from Limbo, you mind if I tie my backstory in with you... making you my 'Friend Mors', so to speak?
Also, Nazard, two questions. Would Pathfinders take on a goblin (even a unique one) as an apprentice? And if so, woudl they send out an apprentice on an expedition such as this?

Yes, and no.
A goblin initiate would be unusual, but the Pathfinders value knowledge and skills no matter the source. They would not send out an apprentice however, so your back story will have to reflect the fact that Biter has graduated. There is a period of formal schooling that Biter would have to make it through, but not all Pathfinders are bookworms, so there would definitely be a place for Biter. Also, as great a place as Limbo is to try out characters, can we not include it as an actual place? Those of you who are actual Pathfinders (Rath, Alexis, Pete, and Biter) would have basically been classmates at the main academy in Absalom. You might have even been sent out together on your test mission (like a final exam where Pathfinders go out into the field on their own to complete a minor sort of fact-finding mission).

Ok, good to know. I was thinking about going with the "prisoner seeking a new life" angle, but i'm thinking a goblin would probably never make it to prison if someone thought they had done something to deserve it. Plus, it's kind of fun to have a little tiny Pathfinder. :)
I'll play with the angle that Biter and Rath "graduated" together... it ties him to Rath in a fun way.
I'll have Biter written and will submit him tonight. That way you can let me know if he's in or out. I'm trying to hurry so i don't hold up the game if he's in.
Alexis Kirmoon
Of course, as stealthy as Biter is, would the others at the academy have actually noticed he was there? ;D
Pretty such having one's nose stuck in a book doesn't help one's perception checks... ^_^;
BTW, is Pete actually a Pathfinder? From reading his plot-hook, I got the impression he was a hire-on and that he and Alexis had been brought together by 3rd-party acquaintances (i.e. Feldspar and perhaps Alexis and Alis' retainer...)
I know yer on to somethin', and I got friends that'r interested in paying Dingle's share on yer boat to Arcadia. All they want from you is information....you ever hear of the Pathfinders, mate?...
"So Mr. Darknugget! We have a deal then. Remember, go to the port tomorrow at dawn. Look for da prettie Elvin lasses. Ya won't miss 'em. Yer lookin for the wee dainty called Alexis. A real pricess too. Oh ye'll knock 'er socks off ye will. Hahaha. She be the one for ye to be talkin' to.
From the RP thread:
Mr. Darknugget, what led you to join our expedition?"
Well. I was kinda hopin' to find out from yerself. 'Twas that highroller Feldspar that sent me yer way to ask ye! But I'll break it down nice and simple fer ye. I be comin' to help ye out, find me some paydirt, and some o' them bootiful rocks they be sayin' are to be found out 'cross the water. That about does it. I'd be kindly wantin' to know what yer about also - if ye please.
"Ah Feldspar, our retainer mentioned she had some dialog with an individual by that name after we put out a call for experts in the fields of mineralogy and geology. Miss Nell said the man spoke very highly of your skills."

As things accelerate in RL, I don't see how I will be able to contribute in a meaningful way to the campaign. Therefore I prefer to remove my character from it before I start posting in the campaign thread.
Thank you for considering me.

No worries, mate. Thanks for the heads up and hopefully, we'll be able to game together in the future.

Sorry for the late reply - been out all day. Absolutely, use Rath as a class 'buddy' for Biter! I actually think their personalities will mesh well - neither one is overly polished and I suspect they are both rock-solid pragmatists when it comes to killing folks. :)

Ah. I thought training was available through the official lodges around the world as well. In my backstory, I had Rath spend a year training in Cheliax. I can change that easily enough. The other option would be let training occur at some of the bigger lodges and then Biter and I could have trained together in Cheliax... given all the trafficking with devils, I don't think a Chelaxian Pathfinder 'Lodge Headmaster' would bat an eye at training a Goblin. However, you want to run - just let me know and I will tweak my backstory.

Okay, i'm modifying his character sheet right now, and there is only one thing i'm not sure of.. starting gold. I see you put 1.5x max starting gold. As a barbrian, that would only be like 150g, but you also mention having a masterwork item... which doesn't jive with that amount.
So, what should Biter's spending money be for outfitting him?
And he'll be rolling up into the inn as soon as i can get the gear in order. My next post will have my email, as well.
Nazard
** spoiler omitted **
I eagerly await your invite, Nazard.
His sheet still says Barbarian 1/Rogue 1. I assume that's just an oversight, and that he's now a Barbarian 1 only?
The masterwork item is only if you can afford it. Obviously he can't so no dice with the masterwork item.
And consider formal invitation extended. Welcome to the game, Biter. Please try not to mess it up too much!! ;)
Biter
Yes, that's just an oversight, and it should be fixed now... gear and background wil go up as soon as i finish Biter's introductory post in the main thread.
Again, thanks for the invite, Nazard, I'm pumped about the game... i've been excited about the idea of Arcadia for a while now.
oh, when his back-storyis up, you might want to take a look at Biter's background... he and Arryn's exchange got some creative juices flowing. (i think you'll think i'ts an interesting twist on the usual pc backstory)

Alexis, not wanting to rain on your parade, but wayfinders don't automatically get given out to PCs just because they're Pathfinders, they cost 180GP according to one source I found, which I don't think she has. It's from her backstory, so I have no problem with her having one, but they do give solid mechanical bonuses that she can't quite afford according to the rules. How about the wayfinder was broken or damaged during the crash, and she will be able to repair it when she learns Craft Wondrous Item?

Hey Nazard, I think in the Campaign book they mention the cost of a Wayfinder being 500GP. They do mention adding magical abilities to it - so maybe that is a masterwork variant?

Ah, from following another PbP I thought they were a "commencement gift" of sorts. My mistake.
However, I really like your idea about the wayfinder having belonged to one of Alexis' parents and having been broken during the crash. That fits her story perfectly! This will make it all more meaningful when she's attained a sufficient level to take Craft Wondrous Items and gains the ability to repair/rebuild her father's old wayfinder. I've updated her character sheet to note this.
Thanks for the inspiration! :D
BTW, I have no problem with paying the appropriate/full cost (whether 180 or 500) when the time comes. The story idea alone is worth it. For now, it shall remain a piece of "fluff". :)

Ah, thanks. I don't have the campaign book so I did the best I could with google. 500gp certainly sounds more appropriate given that it givens constant bonuses to Survival to keep from becoming lost. I think you have to add an ioun stone to it though for some of the cooler things it does.

nazard, I saw we lost our druid. Are you looking to fill that spot? If so, do you already have someone in mind? Or are you going to have us run the game as-is? I have a friend who would love a chance to roll a character for it, but I didn't want to mention it before knowing what your wishes were.
Let me know.

I was originally running this game for a couple of people from another game who wanted to try it, then they both backed out, now they're both back in. One of them is working up a druid, so I'll give him a day to figure it out. If he decides he still doesn't want in, by all means, bring your friend along.

Nazard,
I didn't buy a lot of misc. mundane equipment like torches, tents, food, ect. I assumed since this is a sizable operation to Arcadia (3 ships correct?) that most of this type of equipment would be provided? Or is this an incorrect assumption. I have some money left just in case.
Do you know when you will be ready to really kick this thing off? I noticed another pbp very similar to this that you appear to be GM'ing as well, should we stay away from that thread or will this one be very different?
Thanks!

LOL Stay out, definitely. It's completely the same, barring differences that come up from your unique party make-up and actions.
I was having such a ball with it the first time, I decided to get double-duty out of the prep work and open it up for more people to try.
Lots of equipment may be provided, like food and such, but you also may not want to trust to that. Certainly, there are not likely to be places in Arcadia to spend gold coin, at least not for a long while.
Ravarath
Related to gold, equipment, etc... I recall Biter mentioning running short of funds to buy the equipment he wanted for his concept. Even with over-provisioning myself - I had 9 GP extra. If it fits into your narrative, and that money would help Biter get the equipment he wanted, I'd be happy to give that money to Biter instead of a fictitious charity - keep it 'in the family' so to speak.
Biter
Much as I appreciate the offer, Biter still has 6g or so. I'd support the notion of us throwing our remaining monies togetehr as a team before we official set sail, and pick up any provisions we'll need as a group. torches, tents, sleeping bags, clothes, trail rations, etc.
I intentionally scaled back on what i wanted in the end because it seemed to make him seem like more of a rough-and-tumble scavenger type. Gettin' by on the essentials and making it up as you go along, if you know what i mean. :)

Rath, that would be awesome. Like Naz, I lack the campaign books and I didn't start subscribing to the APs until after CotCT so I don't have access to the info from the Skinsaw book either. Basically the only things I know about wayfinders right now are from another PbP and the tiny bit on the Pathfinder.wikia.com (i.e. flashlight + compass + random ioun stone ability if added). I figure once I'm sufficient level, Alexis will most-likely be crafting these for all the Society members so I'd like to read up on them a bit more.
Thanks!

OK. I'll scan and post it to today - along with the couple of pages about the Pathfinders.

Furthermore, now that you've pointed out that there is a mirroring thread to our own adventure, i'm having the freakin' hardest time keeping my grubby paws off it!
It's like christmas morning all over again!!!!!
Make a DC:25 Will Save (like the rest of us) to avoiding snooping that campaign. :)

BTW, Rath, Nazard: I hope you don't think I was trying to pull a fast one with the wayfinder. Until Rath mentioned not having one "because they cost bank", it never even occurred to me that it might be more like a Jedi building their own lightsabre rather than standard issue.
Thanks for being good sports though and allowing for the narrative option (i.e. dad's broken compass) — that was really cool of you and I appreciate it greatly. I'll happily pay full price when the time comes.
