Father Burdock
Father Burdock |
Burdock enhances Thorn's strength once again before cursing at the situation. "Damn these crazed cultists! By Torag's beard...", he mutters angrily.
bull's strength on Thorn
GM Chyro |
Will Sivar take all of that?
You're the 'nah-nah-nah-nah-nah' type of oracle after all.

With Father Burdock blessing Thorn with mighty strength, we enter the 2nd round.

Thorn feels a slight pull away from the darkness, Physically becoming stronger. a flash before his eyes. ' Well now, its seems they want you to do something....Try not to die TOO fast... be of SOME use '
In a half-lidded stare Thorn rises looking at the situation. In almost Monotone Celestial he spoke, " Retreat back to us.. Sivar "
As he raised a hand ready to deliver a spell. the warrior normal glow diminished greatly but his own wounds healed.
Ready CMW: 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (7, 4) + 4 = 15

Edit: Thorn, Grint, Sivar, you can post ahead in advance.
Father Burdock |
Magic weapon on Grint ' s bow, hoping that will help bypass DR. +1 to damage for you Grint!
-Posted with Wayfinder
Grint Mavric |
Grint takes a 5-foot step back and fires two arrows at the golem, knowing full well it could swing at him, but the shots were needed. It just meant he needed to be careful in not opening himself up for a hard counter-attack.
Rapid Shot, Deadly Aim, Magic Weapon, PBS, Fighting Defensively: 1d20 + 9 - 2 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 9 - 2 - 4 = 181d20 + 9 - 2 - 4 ⇒ (19) + 9 - 2 - 4 = 22

AC=23 until my next turn
Thorn Dulani |
Thorn looks upon the Golem slowly approaching, his eyes dead somewhat as he raises his hand. The sound of gallows being pulled and a guillotine falling erupts.. as his Bless Spell goes off. He then draws his Axe and steps in.
GM Chyro |
Father Burdock enhances Grint's weapon.
While Sivar takes distance, Grint steps back to shoot.
His arrow, despite being enchanted, deals reduced damage.
He hits for 13, but eats an attack from the golem.

Elsa & Father Burdock
GM Chyro |
Yeah, i've browsed golems one day, elemental dmg, strangulation and more....
It's probably going to bite me in the ass, with awefull rolls in the rest of the fight. I've seen that happen.
Jadwiga Elsa Harcatha |
Elsa snarls and hurls some elemental ice at the creature RTA: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 but the furious melee makes it impossible to hit.
Another round of uselessness
Father Burdock |
Burdock channels anti-artifi energy into his palm and thrusts it at the golem.
Touch of Artifice @ golem: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Damage: 1d8 + 7 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 7 + 4 = 181d8 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12
Thorn Dulani |
Don't forget Bless Burdock
Thorn feels the pain, a powerful pain that weighs on his body. And his mind. The shock makes him see the Demons, the fear. His axe swings upwards in a shaky arch.. less from fear, more from reactive training.
Axe Swing: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 311d12 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
Fast heal 2
Confirm Axe Swing: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 202d12 + 20 ⇒ (4, 6) + 20 = 30
GM Chyro |
Well...that massive dmg wrapped up a challenge rather quickly, gj.
Elsa's, Father Burdock's and Grint's arrows miss.
Thorn must have gotten a divine push in the right direction, as his attack hits the golem hard in the chest, near the rune.
For a moment it stands, but it then falls apart in huge pieces, slowly dissolving on the ground.
--------------------Combat over-----------------
All is quiet, the cultist's golem being no more to harass you.
To your surprise, and relief, no other image comes to yell at you.
The only things left in sight are a cart full with stolen pumpkin harvest and the fields of the hamlet.
This was the last enemy of this countryside 'chapter'.
Relax time.
Thorn Dulani |
Luck of the gods on one spectrum and the other; There really is no 'relax time'
His impact was far greater than he anticipated and it surprised even him. However there was no satisfaction or otherwise in his demeanor afterward. He simply dropped his axe and moved back to Tessa who he awkwardly cradled and lifted from the ground, looking at the rest, " This place you all are going to, does it hold healers? Father Burdock... do you have the capability to learn.... Gentle Repose? " His words did not stutter.. they were cold and distant.
GM Chyro |
Father Burdock wanted to inspect the chests at the 'outhouse', where you exited the tunnel to.
8 longswords
500 GP
3 potions of clw
15 trail rations.
Valuable gems worth 500 GP Appraise DC 20: worth 1200 GP

Sivar Soulscar |
my curse gives me +4 saves vs disease so I passed that check earlier
Sivar finally gathers himself and returns to the group. .
He casts healing on himself
cmw: 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (3, 6) + 4 = 13
clw: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
"Thorn that was a mighty blow you struck that golem with, I'm not sure of your patron, my religious knowledge being limited, but the blessing you invoked seemed to be very effective."
Thorn Dulani |
Thorn gives a sideways glance at Sivar, the shorter man's eyes went to the ground. " D-Damerrich, The Weighted Swing, A-Archon of Executions. He is known for m-many such things, that is who I a-aspire to be.. who I f-follow. However, That blow meant nothing, for it came from fear, not d-devotion. And it did not help prevent the fate of L-Lady Tessa, n-nor the m-man sacrificed. I-I am still v-very weak. "
Father Burdock |
I can, but not until another night's rest
-Posted with Wayfinder
Sivar Soulscar |
Still stretching and moving his muscles after the blows he received from the golem
"Well I may ask you questions about the teachings of Damerrich, if you'll allow, so that I may learn and hopefully come closer to to finding out more about my own divine inflictions. I would not be so doubting of yourself i'm as strong as an ox and I could do nothing to that beast"
GM Chyro |
With the bandits, excluding the missing Knuckles and the mysterious violin player, no longer be on the rural lands, the people at the hamlet set out with a horse to retrieve their stolen harvest.
Man #1: "I can't thank you enough for rescuing our boy.
We're not rich like some of the folk over at Kharum, but maybe we can compensate in some small way.
You were looking for a spare wheel for a wagon, yes? I have one in my storage, please take it."
The daughter, mother & granny make ready to depart as well, when you five are ready.
Which could be the same day or the next.
Since there's hinting at spell recovery.
Thorn Dulani |
To Sivar Thorn gives a stonefaced stare. " If y-you wish. As for doubt, I have none.. I am weak. Strength is m-measured in m-many different ways. I c-could not protect and b-because I could not defeat a man.. It lead to the death of a c-comrade. I am weak. "
When the people ask what they can do he motions, " D-Do you have a coffin, s-some rope? "
GM Chyro |
The barkeep, happy his wife Alice is back with him, shakes his head.
"No coffin, however i can make a crude one with some of the planks we have."
Man #2 "As for rope, maybe there is some in my basement."
Both they can provide, making the coffin takes the barkeep, assisted with another, less than an hour.
Thorn Dulani |
" She will be a constant reminder... and I shall return her to the living. I will carry her so that I do not forget my weakness. "
He looks to Father Burdock
" We can give her the proper rites... but my quest will not end. "
Basically.. Coffin Backpack... Wolfwood style. Take her back to civilization and all that.
Jadwiga Elsa Harcatha |
Elsa eyes Thorn askance You intend to carry that corpse with you everywhere? It might begin to smell bad don't you think Grint? How morbid.
GM Chyro |
After little less than an hour, the barkeep returns with a simple coffin.
"Here you are."
When you guys are ready.
Grint Mavric |
"Aye it would stink Elsa, but I've met more people able to conserve a body when needed. I assume that's what Thorn is after."
Grint looks to the others as the discussion turns to not caring for her.
"Well we do care Thorn. A burial is a good thing for her, though a journey to her homeland would be far I think. I'd intend to bury her here instead of transporting her all the way, there's practicality to keep in mind. If you want to bring her back, you don't know her wishes, so you might bring her back against her will. I don't want to be a part of that."
