In reading through various play-throughs of the Emerald Spire and in looking ahead at some of the challenges within the depths, it seems likely that one (or more!!!) of you will fall prey to some horrible monster, villain, trap, poison, disease or awful accident…

With that in mind, and recognising that you have all invested time, effort and thought into your characters, I would like to propose that we use the Hero Point system. The system will give you a little bit of insurance against the Paizo Dice Rolling algorithm deciding it hates you at just the wrong time…

I am going to suggest you start with 1 Hero Point each at this level and will accrue them at a further Hero Point upon character levelling.

Thoughts?

Of course if it does still happen, Character Death does give you the opportunity to play something new if you wish to…we would just need to work out how we stitch your new character into the game…

sounds good to me..I think Symon, at this point in his career, really needs the extra insurance...I just hope when (and if) he makes it to shadowdancer it becomes a little more...robust!! lol

First, thanks DM for keeping such a great game moving. I decided to help out with the loot by Updating the loot spreadsheet. Was the bastard sword from the skeleton mwork or magic?

I know the two guys in the stairs had hand crossbows. Normal ones? Anything else?

Did we ID the scrolls and the seven green vials?

We might be able to go to town and order Luther some plate armor. He can at least get fitted for it and make a deposit.

And the vials I'm pretty sure are poison so that's why Drzco didn't try for the ole fashioned taste test.

Yes, the Bastard Sword (which Dezco has?) from Gorloth is a +1 Magical Weapon...Dezco is also right that the green vials do indeed contain poison...The outlaws on the stairs were using Masterwork Crossbows...

I updated the loot spreadsheet with the loot I suggest we sell and we have more than 2400GP.

Luther would like to buy full plate for 1500GP and take an advance on future treasure. We could buy a back up wand of CLW for 750GP, but we seem to have charges on the current. Nevertheless, I think we buy one so we can stay in the spire for a long time without returning.

Everyone has a CLW and CMW potion, except for Luther has two CLW potions.

We have allocated items to those who use them best. And since Dezco is our frontliner and scout, he has about half our magic items. I don't have a problem with this, but I am just bringing it up. Trying to stay on the front line and get people to hit me, I have went for a plate armor build. If Luther borrows 1200GP from the party for the plate, he will wait till 1200GP is accumulated and distributed to the others before he accumulates any share of treasure.

I am fine with the armor...it helps keep symon alive if you can fight upfront and let him keep to the shadows!!

That leaves us 300gp for holy water alchemy fire and acid. Masterwork tools for Simon if not already purchased.


Selling your potions will get you 6 x half of 50gp (item price for potion) further reduced by a 30% levy - so you would get 105gp...

...also, you might struggle to obtain Masterwork Thieves Tools in the Hellknight controlled town...

Maybe Symon could try to make contact with the "underworld" in this town, if there is one, and see if he can purchase items on the black market..again if there is one. Not too sure what to roll or such to make contact with such people...knowledge-local?

So, in addition to our CLW wand, we have:

4 x holy water = 100
5 x acid = 50
MW tools for Symon = 100
Alchemical fire x 2 = 40
2 silver weapon blanch = 10
Consider all but Luther has a holy water. All have a acid flask. The rest Symon has, I assume he will treat ten arrows with the silver blanch.


Giving Luther a little more time and then I will GMPC him to get this combat started in earnest...
