Khall Vesper |
Khall Huffs If you says so, after all, Computers don't lie... But first, what about that security? Are your drones not operational? She asks, sliding her rifle on to her back and drawing one of her pistols as she steps onto the elevator.
Bronen |
Bronen takes two bracelets and stashes them from a belt. He then holds up an armored fist.
A synthesized voice once again emerges from the Nuar drone, "I would suggest that us two, Khall, and Kit use elevator first followed by the rest. The first team will ensure a clear room."
Snorri Forgefather |
Snorri activates his suits comms unit on the groups frequency. <"It's going to get damned annoying having that AI listening in the whole time. A shame we can't all go together, under the circumstances it's going to be tense being split up.">
- Kit - |
"Nope, computer," Kit comments loudly. "It IS suspicious."
"Got it, Ro-Bro!" Kit replies to the robot Bronen. Heading over the the elevator without much thought to its safety.
Kit smiles widely at Snorri's pronouncement and whispers into the groups comm frequency. "Bet I could shut it down if I got near its core." Or whatever it is that the AI operates from. A station? Computer console? She seems to take the comment as a challenge.
A.I |
Bronen, Khall and Kit enter the elevator and the doors close behind them quickly making shooooshoooom puh sound. And they are brought to the main concourse quickly.
BKK
The rest
The AI says, “Routine maintenance of airlock integrity is required. Standard testing will commence in five minutes.”
Bronen |
Bronen and drone exit carefully, looking for any immediate danger. After which the synthetic voice says, "Khall, would it be difficult for you to find a position to post up?"
A.I |
The AI responds, "You are not in a room but the main area of Sector Alpha. Why would anything try to kill you? That building contains a small security office at its center, filled with viewing screens allowing remote observation of most sections of the outpost. It is surrounded by a set of barred holding cells."
Vultsubai |
Vult came out of FS-XXXX, wearing his standarad second skin armor, equipped with an arc pistol, arc emitter, auto pistol and an archaic looking dueling sword sized for his species. One of his hands was armed with an auto-injector unit and he some vials on his side in a bandoleer. Seeing some of the others had gone ahead he narrows his eyes as he looks around.
Bluff: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Vult is actively looking for the other smaller Fleet Members the group had, passing over Ambrose with a quick flick of his eyes.
He clips on the ID band as requested, doing what he needed to When the AI informs them of a Routine maintenance he asks calmly. "Station, we've received clearance from the Fleet Command to remain armed while investigating the station please log this clearance with Station Security. Also Station, What does a Routine maintenance of airlock integrity entail? Is there a different elevator we can use to get to Sigma prior to Routine check commencement or can maintenance routine be withheld until we clear the docking bay?"
Hearing Snorri and while waiting for the Station's reply, Vult replies in the closed comms. <:Ambrose, stay close to Snorri, Vagoru stick with me in case we get accidentally jettisoned.:>
Bronen |
Bronen nods his helmeted head and the drone and he ready their weapons. They both begin slowly moving toward the crates.
A.I |
The AI responds to Vult "Understood, your group will be armed on the station.... Good question.... I will communicate with the elevator. wait one."
AI continues, "According to the elevator, the elevator will depressurize, shall i Contramand that order?
The AI responds, "No one is in the holding cells."
BKK
As you ponder the strange, almost eerie effect the moonlight seems to be having on your vision, the crates move yet again! They charge forward in exactly the fashion a stack of crates should not, and come thundering towards your skull.
A large cratean fist strikes at bronen 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 miss, the crate bot's giant arm breaks some wooden crates on the tarmac.
Initiative Bronen 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11, Khall 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19, Kit 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16 Bot 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
This Cargo robot is made up of sixty large crates and is humanoid in shape. Each of these crates is connected to the body by metal tentacles.
Round 1
Khall, Kit, Bot, Bronen
The station went dark before they could move ahead with the precolonization training.
Vultsubai |
Bluff: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
He is trying to hide his nervousness from the AI, Facial software, emotion recognition, he didn't know how far it could see into his body language either. He was doing his best not to betray himself. Acting like he didn't suspect anything being wrong, but still his respect for the AI's help wasn't a bluff.
If I understand the scene correctly, we are standing in the area it wants to depressurize right? If so the following applies, if not still somewhat applies. Vult is trying to see if the AI falters afterall.
Vultsubai clicks his tongue. He keeps speaking calmly, not authoritatively to the AI. Trying to treat the Station with the same respect he would anyone else in the Fleet. "Station, FS-XXXX Team requests you withhold any routine maintenance, sub-routines or other potentially harmful operations in area's we are exploring until we are clear of those area, please." He smiles jovially at any camera in sight. Albeit his smile was a toothy grin. "Thank you Station, I know i'm asking a lot. Really appreciate all your aid in our operations." Unlike some in the fleet and elsewhere. Vult always treated AI's, Android or any other advanced robotic helpers with a healthy respect. Just like any other species, however it was always awkward because he didn't know how Machines interpreted such pleasantries.
Snorri Forgefather |
Beneath his helmet Snorri squinted, suspicious of the A.I. but it wasn't as if he could do anything to it even if it betrayed them... yet at least. <I'm ready to move up, though I still amn't sure about this. It's just all off.>
Vultsubai |
"I will definitely try Station." Vultsubai's response was exactly as he felt, excited. A short break in his usual calm as the chance to explore, to learn and maybe even download some station specs was great to him. Now that would be great! Sure, this could all be a huge death trap but this is exciting!
At Snorri's comment he chuckles. <Agreed. Let's catch up with the others. Being separated isn't something we need either.> With that said he waits for the lift and enters first, keeping a hand on his datapad as they entered. He was keeping track of everything he could, for later. Then a thought came to him. Did something divide the crew of the Sigma as well? That thought chilled him slightly, because the only thing capable of that was Kask Station.
- Kit - |
"You lied, AI! Something DOES want to kill us in here!" Kit exclaims loudly.
Into her closed comm she reports <"Violent crate robot trying to kill us. Also, the AI's a big liar!">
Can I post my round one actions, or should I wait for Khall to post first? How do you want us to handle combat?
EDIT:
Kit scurries forward and reaches out to touch her gauntlet to the robots mechanical tentacles.
Melee Attack vs. EAC: 1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 1 + 2 = 18
Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 5, 5) = 19 electricity damage
As she makes contact with the robot it surges out of control, shooting sparks of electricity through the crate robot.
Move action to take a guarded step diagonally one step closer to the robot and Bronen, putting me beside Bronen. The map is in view only mode, so I cannot move my own character. Kit casts jolting surge as a standard action which doesn't provoke an attack of opportunity, and delivers it with a melee touch attack as part of casting the spell. She gets an extra +2 on her attack roll since she's attacking a robot as per the text in jolting surge.
- Kit - |
Kit considers the AI avoiding answering an important question with another question to be shifty, suspicious and DEVIOUS! Kit does not consider herself a liar.
"You avoided the question with word games!" Kit shoots back. "You are a sneaky gromfart!"
"Besides," she adds. "Aren't the robots here under your control?"
A.I |
The AI says, "The robots are not under my control. But rather under the control of their programming. What is a gromfart?"
Of course, Kit has not come to terms with her misleading the party about the AI. I was debating on whether the AI would say, 'I won't be trying to kill you' or I do not know but I thought the question was the best solution :)
- Kit - |
"What?" Kit exclaims. "You can't even control the robots in your own station? That's just poor management, AI. You need to take, like, a seminar or something on that, eh?"
"Hey," she somehow finds time to ask in between frying robots with her hands. "Don't you know what those robots are programmed for? You've got to know THAT, at least!"
I was in the middle of editing my initial post when you posted I could attack, so my round one action is above, FYI. Just in case you didn't notice it.
Vultsubai |
Vultsubai and the rest of us are waiting by the elevator doors iirc. If it was missed on my post above when it arrives he steps on and gets to the others ASAP.
Hearing Kits call on the Com Vult tried to act fast in providing aid. "Station can you run a diagnostic on all robotic units in this sector. Perhaps the malfunctioning unit is suffering from loss of connection to the mainframe."
Diplomacy - Gather information from Mask Station AI: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
"Station can we get a systems run down and controls in place for Kask Station sent to our Datapads?
All he could do was theorize, he wasn't the best with computers, let alone Space Station AI for that matter, so he was outside his comfort zone. But he wasn't about to accuse the AI without due cause. He wanted it to remain Friendly with them. Or things would get ugly fast.
<We are waiting on the elevator. Trying to reach you ASAP. Keep us posted Kit.> His response was lacking because at the moment there was nothing he could do...
Is there any other ways down? Or just the lift?
Khall Vesper |
Sorry, didn't see this giant wall of posts :P when khall arrives she scans the area for good sniping positions...putting her pistols away and redrawing her Disporan rifle. ^From what I can tell sniping positions are limited. This isn't an open field, and field of view is limited in a lot of areas... I Imagine however the top of buildings would offer me the best vantage... I could go into the buildings or grapple my way around.^ she says through coms.
When the cargobot moves Khal hisses, aiming at the bot and firing a shot from her rifle, before diving behind the closest cover. Attack(Energy): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 Damage (fire): 1d8 ⇒ 1
She then drops her rifle and redraws the pistol. ^We have a Rouge robot... Best be moving quickly^
Operative Ambrose |
Ambrose will draw his four guns and wait till the elevator doors open, thumbing off the safeties.
<Bot's gone rogue? Easily Fixed.> He mutters into the comlink.
Bronen |
"Get behind me if you can."
Bronen maintain position and attacks with his readied weapon.
Bronen v KAC: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
dmg: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
If this hit, Bronen gets +1 AC vs melee for 1 round; becoming EAC16 KAC18
The drone takes a step to begin to try to surround this robot and attacks as well.
MinoDrone v KAC: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
dmg: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Dronen was successful in striking the bot and causing damage but not Bronen.
Perception DC20
AI says, "In order to process your request, you will have to connect your datapad into one of our many terminals within the station to allow that to happen. Any other way will take an extremely long time to do."
The rest, the elevator door finally opens and inside it you see a terminal display, obviously a touchscreen, now displays two green arrows, one pointing towards the ceiling of the elevator and one pointing towards the floor.
Snorri Forgefather |
Snorri readies himself to fight these killer robots. <Well at least things aren't going to be dull. We all know what we do best so watch each others backs and keep an eye on your ammo.>
Bronen |
Both Bronen and his drone continue with their attacks, though Bronen's are getting more ferocious.
Perception (Bronen): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Bronen attk spear: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16

---
Hearing her good pal Bro's orders, Kit frowns.
"I can take him!" she exclaims.
But she scurries backwards anyway, and casts a spell. Her fur sticks up, crackling with sparks of elecricity.
"Fry already, ya' stupid robot!" Kit exclaims as a jagged lightning bolt shoots from her outstretched, gauntleted arm at the cargo robots metal tentacle parts.
Ranged Attack vs. EAC: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Electricity Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 1
Kit takes a guarded step backwards at Bronen's request and fires an energy ray (electricity) at the cargo robots metallic tentacle parts.
Vultsubai |
Vultsubai steps into the elevator. Nodding in response to the Stations response. <We're coming guys. Hold tight.> He waits until everyone else is in the elevator before hitting the button to lead them to the others.
When the elevator starts moving he draws his tactical blade and readies himself for the fight ahead.
Khall Vesper |
From her position, Khall fires with both her pistols, aiming to attack the robot in full
Full attack(multi-weapon): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22 Damage(Bullet): 1d6 ⇒ 2

Rest, do you hit the up arrow or the down arrow?
