Dronen carries ten spheres in a bag.

You go to the different locations.

Can I get an engineering roll DC 24 to gather the equipment to suck out the atmosphere inside the ovoid object.

Shot Putter Funkmeister

You are able to find or have the factories make the parts you would need to vacuum out the "atmosphere" within the ovoid thing in the side of the station.

You then gather the equipment and carry it back to where it is.

After about an hour of the machine running you are fairly certain it has been cleaned out well enough for you to go inside.

RETIRED

"Alright," Kit remarks, "Who wants to go into the Pod-of-Certain-Death first? I'm tired of getting clobbered."

Kit wanders over to the ovoid pod, but waits for someone else to go inside first this time.

Vagoru raises his hand.

"Yeah, they say 'never volunteer.' But what do I know?"

Vagoru hefts his weapons and enters the strange ship. He keeps his armor sealed against atmosphere.

Level 2 Soldier-HP: 14/20, Stamina: 18/18, Resolve: 3/4, EAC: 17, KAC: 19, Fort: +5, Ref: +3, Will: +5, Initiative: +3

Snorri goes next keeping his reaction cannon to hand.

Bronen grunts and follows Snorri. Dronen follows Bronen.

The interior of the vessel is revealed as one huge chamber, filled with the black, misty fog. The interior components appear to be made from some dark crystalline material, but you recognize none of the equipment or machinery. The hazy black air is almost stifling. An iris, much like the one you have just opened, is barely visible at the back of this compartment, some 90 yards away.

You turn the machine on and the it is flushed away.

Your group goes back inside the vessel and note that the inside is a huge cavern with a black crystal engine at one end and a set of black crystal controls at the other end. The characters will also note three piles of extremely smelly fungi.

RETIRED

"Pee-yoo, that stinks!" Kit remarks from the back of the group. "What is that?"

Level 2 Soldier-HP: 14/20, Stamina: 18/18, Resolve: 3/4, EAC: 17, KAC: 19, Fort: +5, Ref: +3, Will: +5, Initiative: +3

"Maybe something we should get a sample of... maybe." Snorri sneers at it from inside his armour.

"Close your helmet if you don't want to smell it," says Vagoru.

He looks at the crystal controls with confusion.

"Can any of you make out anything here? I got no idea how this works."

Shot Putter Funkmeister

Knowledge Engineering DC 15

Spoiler:
You are able to figure out how controls worked when this machine was flight worthy.

RETIRED

Kit scampers forward and cracks her tiny knuckles.

"Hmmm... What have we got here...."

Engineering: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29

"OH! I see! These are the controls here, and this goes... Yup! I got it! This was definitely a ship of some kind. Weird as heck, but functional. I could pilot it from here if the thing was fight worthy. Not that I'd want to, mind. But, I don't think it would work anymore."

You said, 'when this machine was flight worthy.' So it's not now, right? Do I think I could repair it so that I could pilot it out of the space station and space walk back? Or is it too damaged? With my engineering check, can I think of another way we could get this rock-ship out of here?

Shot Putter Funkmeister

You figure out how the controls work but how the ship is propulsed no. The ship and how it functions is way too different. The only way to possibly remove the ship would be to tow it with your ship but that would be extremely hazardous

RETIRED

Kit leaves the controls and looks around to see if there's anything else in here.

The iris mentioned in the description we haven't interacted with yet, right?:
Noticing the other iris she wanders over to it and thinks really hard...

OPEN

Shot Putter Funkmeister

Kit walks out of the ship.

Where to next?

Shot Putter Funkmeister

Do you want to go down to the aquarium are for the others?

hello guys, I am sorry for the disappearance...Work schedules have been crazy.. way to tired most of the time to get any posting in. I will back to a mostly normal schedule by Thursday. So I guess I can jump back in right here, just assume Gil was busy doing medical research in the meantime?

RETIRED

When you get back to posting, check out some stinky goo piles for us!

Aquarium? Wait, what? Sorry, I don't recall mention of an aquarium. Why are we possibly going there?

Shot Putter Funkmeister

that is where the other two members of Gillian's crew were.

RETIRED

Alrighty, then!

Kit takes a few steps back from the stone ship, she looks at it and sighs. "Well, that's not going anywhere."

Then she turns and looks at the others.

"Well, we might as well go find Gil's pals. I mean, how bad could it be, right? It's not like they'll be monster cyborgs or anything..."

The AI says, "Just a reminder, there is also a foreign substance in Gamma Sector and in Epsilon sector in the Aquarium is where Sergeant Phillip Getchel and Private Bob Spangler were last heard from."

Would you like to go to Aquarium first or to Gamma Sector? Gamma is on the way to Epsilon.

RETIRED

Then Gamma first.

Level 2 Soldier-HP: 14/20, Stamina: 18/18, Resolve: 3/4, EAC: 17, KAC: 19, Fort: +5, Ref: +3, Will: +5, Initiative: +3

Snorri shuffles along with Kit only half listening to what the AI is nattering on about. "Maybe we'll find some weaponised cheese."

Shot Putter Funkmeister

You make your way out of Beta sector, back into Alpha sector and then you enter Gamma Sector.

You see gleaming three-story apartment buildings standing silently along the roadside. Even in the moonlight, the Spartan but forward-thinking design of these apartments bespeaks of their utility and functionality. They tower to three stories, just over 40 feet in height, and convenient walkways, elevators and ramps connect the floors to one another. Molded transparent windows beckon from all floors, but there is no movement to be seen. Although the apartments are attractive, the dim lighting and lack of occupants (and the sounds that would accompany them) gives this place the feeling of a massive tomb.

Perception please

Vag

Spoiler:
A long black tube, about one foot in diameter, lies on the ground here. It seems to lead to the base of the apartment building to your left, and trails off towards Alpha Sector, and the center of the Outpost, to your right.

Level 2 Soldier-HP: 14/20, Stamina: 18/18, Resolve: 3/4, EAC: 17, KAC: 19, Fort: +5, Ref: +3, Will: +5, Initiative: +3

Snorri squints "Which tube?"

The AI says, "What pipe? There should not be a pipe there, where does it go?"

RETIRED

Kit moves over to find this pipe Vagoru mentioned.

"Man, I thought for a second you'd had too much of your own brew, but now that you mention it, there IS a pipe here..."

Knowledge Engineering: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26

Shot Putter Funkmeister

Kit

Spoiler:
It actually is more of a filament of spores and appears as an opaque mist of black spores.

It leads back towards Alpha Sector and an apartment building nearby.

RETIRED

"Yeeeeeah, I'm not checking that out. It's like... a spore tube or something. Gil?"

Kit steps back and urges Gil forward.

Level 2 Soldier-HP: 14/20, Stamina: 18/18, Resolve: 3/4, EAC: 17, KAC: 19, Fort: +5, Ref: +3, Will: +5, Initiative: +3

"I'm just saying if we can't figure it out using some of those explosives on it might not be the worst move."

Shot Putter Funkmeister

Do you want to blow up the tube, follow the tube to the apartment building or follow it back into Alpha sector? or something else?

Shot Putter Funkmeister

Which way?

RETIRED

"Well? You blowing it up, or what?" Kit asks the others.

I was hoping we could get a life sciences check on it. Is Gil still with us?

"Wait... if we blow the pipe, won't whatever's going through it just spew everywhere?"

"I could probably just cut the pipe if we want. Using this," Vagoru pats his laser cannon.

Shot Putter Funkmeister

Do you blow up the pipe or shoot it?

Shot Putter Funkmeister

Vag tries to cut the pipe with his ray gun abut the flow of whatever it is just maneuvers around the shot and then mending fully, in a quick manner.

RETIRED

"Uh-oh." Kit remarks. "What do you think, Gil?"

(Rolling Life Sciences for Gil:)
Life Sciences: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13

Kit shrugs. "Well, let's dump a bunch of bombs in there and see if that hurts it."

Where do you want to put the bombs on the pipe or the apartment building?

RETIRED

Pipe.
