I sought to employ them, and they will add a level of librarian like tracking in their use, but, it did (sadly) feel as though the combinations for their use were less than standard spell lists.
Course, that could be an illusion due to not actually using them, but, at first glance, love the style and method, execution though, was IMHO, limited.
I do love the principle of them, the 'intent'.

They should be usable as high level spells along with normal magic, IMHO.
My ideal system would be:
Psionics type Power Point system.
Taking metamagic feats to modify spells by adding more power points to the spell instead of levels.
A Meta Magic for a ton of points to remove expensive components.
Words of power given point totals as equivalent spells.

Victory, i think you broke dice.
Not yet, but the minute someone replies to something the dice reply bug will rear its ugly head again. >.<
So you can get away with this in other games because reply is less important, but in a game with multiple story threads happening reply is essential. (hint, hint, to those who don't use reply when having a conversation with another character which often leads to mysterious apparent non-sequitors that take time to figure out what to do with.) Anyways, there is a bug in the dice code that causes dice = "stuff" to turn into a long random string of numbers when replied to. Please, please, please put what the role is for in ooc text and only use the dice command for the numbers. Unless you know for sure that the dice reply bug has been conquered in which case I no longer care. But last time I checked it hadn't been.

Damiani wrote:Wait, using the
[dice=Text]1d6 + 5
and clicking reply breaks?
Can someone explain and/or give an example?
it's because the reply puts it as
(bracket's removed)
dice=Textand don't put a closing thing on it
So, what's wrong with that? You just don't see the totals, but you can see what someone's attempted, isn't that useful?
I'm confused as to the 'issue'. It stops re-rolls.

Wait, using the
Text: 1d6 + 5d6d6d1d20 ⇒ (1) + (17, 15, 10, 15, 12, 9, 1, 12, 10, 8, 6, 14, 18, 1, 2, 19, 9, 11, 14, 2, 1, 8, 9, 1, 15, 6, 3, 10, 10, 12, 3, 14, 9, 19, 3, 10, 11, 7, 12, 11, 11, 3, 13, 6, 6, 20, 17, 18, 5, 15, 5, 7, 4, 1, 4, 3, 17, 13, 1, 6, 15, 4, 3, 10, 11, 17, 13, 5, 12, 8) = 653

The problem occurs when you have a roll that is formatted like {dice=text}, and in the person's reply, they also roll dice. Just follow the request of the GM and refrain from doing that. it is not that much harder to put your dice roll labels outside of the dice brackets and inside of an ooc bracket.
please and thank you.

It should be a fairly simple fix unless their code is a sordid tangle. The main problem is that there is an open tag but not a close tag, so it reads all numbers between the quote and the next dice close tag as part of the dice roll.
Just have it quote the number like a regular dice roll, and fixed.
I don't know their code, but it doesn't seem like a complicated bug to me.

I believe I am still waiting on Belyu's action for this combat on Belsayv, though why Vickory didn't just Coup de Grace is beyond me. Still.

I somehow missed that it was an available option at the moment.
As for dice I originally used "," instead of";" which had fun effects.
As for dice replies, I didn't know there were bugs. It never came up before. Of course, I never had multiple attacks like this before (on pbp anyway)
Any case, it can be avoided, now that I know about it.

Ace is waiting for a reply from Repp, I believe.

Quick check in before leaving to go see Thor 2. It's been a long week....I need a night off. :)
Anyhow, I wanted to point out that Royston's last post has some problems. Ryleh's lair is not on any maps. The people who need to know it's there, know. It isn't advertised. Sorry for not making that clearer. Also, there is no sub-basement. It's just a normal basement. With very high ceilings. Anyways, the light he has on him reveals that it's an empty music room. It wouldn't be dark if they turned on the light switch.

The boards are being super crappy for me today. :(
Belyu: I somehow totally missed that, my bad. I'll just say the spell dealt full damage, and it is Belyu's turn again (since the stun won't matter now that he's paralyzed). In the words of ots of things, this message is for you Belyu:
[MK Voice]FINISH HIM![/MK Voice]

Generally, champions are chosen for their strategic value. Their personality dictates how the Patron will put themselves out there. For example: Chan was murdering everyone, good for a power grab/tyrant approach, but now Madness is on the defensive and so chose a Champion which might trigger ethical qualms in some people - murdering a child isn't really in the Avalon crew's MO.
