Don't feel bad. The infernal engine is a special case, and more than half the student body is sitting this one out because thru couldn't last five seconds against this thing. There are plenty of other challenges in the game that don't require you to be a combat monster. :)

I know because of the way I built Treisdan, he cant fight worth anything worth mentioning, however he can really make your day suck if he gets angry.
Mind control, playing with your memories, making you fall asleep, Power Word spells, Confusion, . . . and the list continues :)

Not mentioning the ridiculous powers of the Vestiges, which can turn me into a demonic looking powerhouse

I can see I'm going to have to keep an eye on you. I'd hate to have another student repeat Miss Zamarosok's more memorable mistakes. And I assure you, Mr. Achdarach, trying those tricks on me would be a very memorable mistake. I don't teach enchantment because I'm bad at it.

I was actually not going to attempt the stupid (and possibly Suicidal) mistakes of the memorable Miss Zamarosok's, I'm coming to the school to learn more control (of myself)

sometimes however, I snap and may "accidentally" permanently dominate one of my classmates... but when I recover I will surely release them from the compulsion...

Blood Dependency: Young Countess Umbriere Moonwhisper, unlike most nymphs, depends on consuming the blood of others to survive. by drinking a pint of a recently slain, or willing target's blood (dealing 1 point of temporary constitution damage to the target). she may suppress her needs for 24 hours

Swap all positive energy spells on the bard and druid lists for their negative energy counterparts.

Umbriere's Uncle is the Mad Count Maximilian Moonwhisper. an eccentric male whom some regard as a little insane. the man was a former teacher at the avalon academy, teaching about madness and how to harness it as a tool.

Umbriere is her Uncle's only Heir because nobody would ever produce a son with the lunatic, even if he had the money he happens to have. her Younger Sister, Lumiere disinherited herself to become her older sister's personal champion and bodyguard. the twins were adopted by the count and raised to call him 'uncle', though he was more of a father to them.

Umbriere is manipulative in a fashion similar to a puppeteer, always itching to pull somebody's strings to get her way. though sickly, and seemingly sweet and supposedly caring on the surface, in reality, she is rather spoiled and selfish, and her acts of kindness are more like bribes to encourage her classmates to interact with her bratty middle school aged nymph self. this is the 20th time she attended this school out of her personal ritual of completing the school cycle once every century.

Magical Equipment

Dress of the Monochrome Puppeteer. this dark hued: doll like: gothic lolita dress functions as an otherworldly kimono with the additional benefit of granting any weapon she wields the agile property as long as she wields it. the maze effect, instead of a maze of sakura trees, is a maze of ribbons

Strings of the Monochrome Puppeteer: these strings, appear to be intended for puppetry, which is a half correct assumption. the intended effect is to dominate the mind of the targeted individual. at will, these strings may be used to cast dominate monster on one target within 30 feet (CL20th DC29) but only one target may be dominated at a time in this fashion

actually it's 2 gestalt trees.

one tree is a nymph 12th level shadow bloodline sorcerer, the other, is a 16th level bard. in other words, 16 effective levels, using the monsters as PCs guidelines. plus 4 Extra D6 hit die from who knows where.

the negative energy affinity and blood dependancy are flaws that come with resist level drain.

Gestalt is effectively leveling 2 calsses at once, but can mean 2 seperate but eual paths.

and there is my character wandering the halls of the school with not a clue as to what is where and how dangerous anything here is... plus I lack the ability to cast any evocation spell... cue doom song....

Puppeteering strings that may be used to cast dominate monster (at will) on one target at a time. sustaining the domination effect requires continued manipulation of the strings. Umbri is pretty bad herself.

i still have to choose spells, but i was considering a decent amount of illusion, enchantment, and intrusive divination, with a decent amount of control, some buffs, a few inflicts, and if i can get permission to take at as a sorcerer spell known, harm. but i have 3 lists to pool spells from and wouldn't like to excessively duplicate

I'm a mindbender enchanter... The only spells I know are Enchanting, Illusion, and a few necromancy spells for undead... i also have the ability to ignore the limit of language and immunities to mind influencing effects, as well as have two permanent duration charms and one permanent duration thrall.

Young lady, I use to suffer from the blood thirst. Here at the academy we have a serum that negates it quite effectively. If you are interested that is.

you can negate blood thirst, but can you negate a diagnosed medical dependancy? will the serum help my declining health in the same way that blood happens to?

this serum sounds a little odd. would i be required to take any additional prescriptions with this serum to compensate for the cold, weak, and clammy sensations i receive from lack of blood consumption? or does this serum deal with that too?

Okay, for clarification, and I will post this in the recruitment thread as well, a new player needs a green light from either myself or DB3 in my absence before jumping into the game. Partially to make sure that everything is in order with the character an no changes need to be made (you're clear on that one Umbriere so no worries) and partially to allow me to manage the story in ways that keep things from being confusing or allow for frustrating situations where people wander around with no real way to integrate into the story. I had stated multiple times that I was trying to clear some old business before introducing new players. I get that there can be some confusion in the recruitment thread and I'm not trying to yell at anyone. I'm just...a bit taken off guard really.

This is a conversation that can and will happen in game when the relevant person isn't distracted dealing with other crises. It will make more sense with her explanation. :)

Okay, I'm having trouble getting to a lot of the old business that needs to be dealt with and a lot of details are just plain off. The school is not that old to start with. My frustration level is climbing pretty fast as I wade through the game thread. Please do me a huge favor and new people STOP POSTING now. Thank you so much Morgan for facilitating their intro and now I would really appreciate it if you guys would hit pause for a bit since this makes it much much more difficult to finish the stuff we need to get through to release the rest of the student body from their current training exercise gone horribly wrong. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

i didn't intend to say that i attended that specific school 20 times. just that i went through the school system 20 times over the course of a lifetime. schools are a great place to pick up information and strings to pull. i am sorry for jumping in.
