LOL!!
If I were to do this, I would likely try to incorporate their gimmicks/nicknames into their builds.
For example, Kenny Omega is the 'The Cleaner', so he would be a slayer, with the cleaner archetype, and probably bounty hunter, since that plays into wrestling.
Karl Anderson has the Machine Gun moniker, so gunslinger.
Devitt has always worn facepaint of various comic characters, and has the 'demon' persona in WWE, so he would be a synthesist summoner.
Yeah, sure, I don't see why not. A new gang in Kuros is just the sort of minor antagonist that we can really use. We've got plenty of world-ending problems, but definitely short of important inconveniences. :)

Laying about and remembering how insanely terrible I was at this. Some of my early adon posts that I remember are so bad that I refuse to read the backlogs ever.
Hey, we all start somewhere. And they weren't as bad as you've made them out to be in your mind. Yes, you've learned to be a better writer since you've started. Just don't beat yourself up for not being perfect from the get-go. :)

Hey Kryzbyn - looks like that thing we talked about for Kuros last year might finally happen! You're about to get your first 'guests'! ;P

Just to let you guys know, I'm heading up north to visit my dad tomorrow and will be there for several days (probably, barring drama). And he's not all about technology...he doesn't even have dialup at the house, let alone wifi. I can use my phone as a wifi hotspot so it's possible that I will still be able to get some posts up, but it will definitely be limited. So please be patient over the next few days if I take longer than usual to respond. :)

Home is good. I like home. Home has nice things like cooked food, working bathrooms, comfortable beds, wifi....
So I'm back from my trip up north. Well, I got back Friday night, but then I slept all of Saturday and quite a bit of today. It was a long few days. Anyhow, hopefully I will be able to get some posts up tonight and maybe even start replying to PMs. But it might be tomorrow.

The synopsis is
Stop leaving for so long XD
More seriously....
Um
Well, what was the last thing you remember?
I know that a pharaoh has shown up and is bantering with Lucas,
Vriaka the shantack is becoming friends with Grim
Dave and Tybalt are going on a Not-A-Date
Arthur has started building adorable robots of uncertain purpose in his sleep

The Festival is just beginning.
Andromeda found out about the deaths of the champions.
There's a big firebird gather to determine new gov/place to live. Fieri learned of some deaths, and passed out. James showed to take her away and glowered at anybody who tried to stop him.
Ie, Lyn is being horrible to her characters, as usual :)
I think those are the major story arcs going on atm.

Monkeygod wrote:There's a big firebird gather to determine new gov/place to live.Well that attempt if going to go up in smoke.
Already in progress.... well, sort of. It's chaotic and a mess, but it's not necessarily going to end in disaster. If Eleadora has to bang all their heads together and order the annoying youngsters to do what's best for them....
So to sum up a little more clearly, it's currently Saturday about mid-day in game although the equinox festival folks are a little bit ahead of that. On Friday late afternoon, Raelle del Sol was lured off of school grounds with a very convincing illusion of her sister Chara and captured by a group of guardsmen. There was a very tense search and she was recovered in the nick of time just as her grandparents were in the process of performing a powerful magical ritual on her that would have wiped away her personality and free will. They intended to sell/trade her to someone/thing for some unknown price. Through a great deal of self control, Sorchan arrested his parents instead of murdering them (to be fair, he really had to think about it) and it turned out that they had performed this ritual on many others before. So the gathering to decide the future of the firebirds is also being disrupted by the trial of Aine and Aithne delSol, which is complicated by the fact that with no system of government or laws or anything, they have no way to figure out how to go about this. There was much arguing which was interrupted by the Elders finally deciding to come out from under their hoods and take part in decision making once more as they couldn't keep standing by and watching the youngsters muck it up. Eleadora is the leader of the Elders, with her brother Aidan occasionally chiming in as well. Turns out the Elders have a completely different system of governance than the rest, and their system is still working just fine thank you very much. (It's a genuine meritocracy, which is the reason for the separation of the two systems as it wouldn't allow the younger firebirds any say in anything at all ever due to their not having had as long to hone their skills. So they've been operating independently for centuries.) So just as things were starting to get productive with a general consensus that the best course of action would be to elect a temporary council who could lead through the transition to a new, safer location when they could have more freedom to take their time and really debate and figure out how they want to do things... well, that's when another wrench got thrown in the works as the Phoebus guards found the last batch of personality wiped victims, about half of them dead along with Embre Soleil and Apolla Helios. Presumably whatever they had been going to trade Raelle to didn't handle disappointment well, and with Aine and Aithne publicly imprisoned, their ally (Embre) was the poor unfortunate who had to break that news. No one is sure if Apolla was working with Embre or if he simply decided to offer her as a replacement. Anyhow, they're dead. Fieri may not have had a great relationship with her mother, but she was understandably upset to suddenly be told that her mother was dead, hence the fainting. And now it's all in an uproar again as the Soleils are utterly grief-stricken and the whole thing is basically chaos. The likelihood of Lord and Lady de Sol getting executed has definitely gone up now as they have lost their only real allies. And that's where it's currently at.

lynora wrote:Anyhow, they're dead.Good.
Heh. I was wondering how Pyry was going to react to that news. On the one hand, their abuser is dead so that's a relief, on the other hand, they didn't get to confront him themselves, so that might be a bit of a disappointment.

Dom: with Tami, enjoying some rare moments of peace.
Salis: in his office, grading papers
And I'm temporarily running a couple more:
Djalos: fetching Mel and Arthur to help Adon. And it has occurred to me that I was left in charge of the blind character who uses vibrations to 'see'.....I have clearly missed an opportunity here! Okay, let's see how many Toph quotes I can get in before DK comes back.... ;P
Gareth: he and his book are with Ori, talking to Lang, because blast it all, I am getting these two to work together to figure out this map if I have to bang their heads together! *Ahem* Anyhow, we are going to open up other gem worlds as playable locations, starting with Haven.
Edit 2: I also forgot Solus because I still haven't made an alias for him for some crazy reason. He's somewhere in the library
And I forgot Salis, who is currently in

Hmm. That might give me an idea. Perhaps igni should pay Morrivan a less then wanted visit.
Question- with igni's rather remarkable expertise, would he be able to tell she's a water bender, even with the minimal interactions he's had?
Heh. Because those two get on so well. :)
And she's never made a secret of what she is. She practices by the lake practically every day, too. So it would be totally reasonable for him to know that she's a water bender.

Yeah, WW and I have been working out her character for a while now. Like a lot of folks, her first character is going to be a bit of a challenge to play, so please help her out if she needs advice. :)
(I will get that intro post up for you in just a mo, WW)

Hmmmm......
To get the expensive as frack, limited edition leather-bound Starfinder Core Rulebook, or just stick with the not-at-all expensive PDF of the regular version.
Hmmmm......
[Epiphany] This decision would be much easier with unlimited funds. [/Epiphany]

Wow...that escalated quickly.
I should've specified that I was musing over getting the book for my own gaming (though I will see if anything in there could be useful for us here, of course).
My bad - didn't mean to scare everybody. (^-^)

Yea, I mean, I definitely plan on checking it out for myself, as the the preview I read for Eox, the undead planet, was badass, and totally convinced me to at least give it a shot.
As for using it here, I said it seemed like it could be useful. Just like theoretically any book produced for Pathfinder might be as well.
Doesn't mean I'm going to badger Lyn into looking it over asap once released, or start whipping up characters made solely with Starfinder rules.
However, there could definitely be some stuff that might work well for us, or maybe the entire book ends up being too dissimilar(like Occult Adventures).
I just got a little excited because Avalon is one of the few settings that mixes fantasy and sci-fi in a nice balanced blend. So of course I got to thinking about possibly, maybe finding neat stuff to use here.
Do we need it? Absolutely not. Could it be fun, and perhaps make the game better? Who knows?
But, I am allowed excite, yes?

Uh, pretty sure that everyone meant well and all that, so yeah, no need to fuss. :)
I'm pretty excited about Starfinder too. I don't know if it will work well for Avalon, but I'm hoping that we can at least use pieces of it.
That said, yeah, it's gonna take me an extra long time to both get a hold of a copy (having a friend pick one up for me at gen con...but then I have to actually get it from him), and things are gonna be crazy so who knows how long before I can actually read it. The PDF comes out while we're gonna be on vacation and totally incommunicado, and then when we come back there's all the getting ready for school and let's do all the things before summer vacation ends. So it'll probably be after Labor Day before I get a real chance to review it. So set expectations accordingly. :)
And since I brought up vacation, seems as good a time to mention it as any. Next Tuesday (the 8th) I will be leaving for Paris and London and will be mostly if not totally unavailable until the 17th...more likely the 18th since I should probably expect to lose a day to jet lag. Super excited about the trip, and also super nervous, but I'm sure we'll have a great time. And I'll post lots of pictures when we get back. ^.^
