That's so cool!
I've never been out of the country before. Not even very far into the country. -_-
Hope you have a great time. <3
This is my first time going to Europe. I've wanted to go since forever. We had planned to go for our tenth anniversary, but we were too broke then, so it had to be postponed...for ten years. Well, better late than never. :)

Repost from FaWtL
I'm having some trouble with focus and concentration, so likely no posts tonight. Posts tomorrow. Rest tonight.

Hoping igni comes off a slightly alien but not completely alien ooc.
Because I honestly feel like I'm doing a terrible job of it.
He's definitely coming off as standoff-ish and indifferent. I hope this doesn't offend anyone, but he reminds me of a friend of mine with Asperger's that responds flatly without realizing that tone is a thing.

Dunno if I posted this here or not already...
The Bonedancer
This is a homebrew class that, to quote Eddy Izard, is an "action" necromancer. It's a divine-casting magus alternate class.
I hope some of you mechanics-saavy folks can take a look and leave me some feedback on the thread I linked above.
The latest version of the doc is near the bottom of the thread.
Thanks!

That's exactly what he's supposed to sound like.
He's failing to understand a lot of social cues, failing to understand that others might think differently then him.
This said, I still kinda feel like he's a failure of a charecter. Felt like that for a while.

I think Kryzbyn has hit on the problem in a nutshell. Igni is a good character. He's interesting, which is even better than likable. His interactions with other characters are great. It's his tendency to disappear from the action that's a problem. Even if he's being the king of awkward and not interacting well with people, the key is putting him in their general vicinity more often. He's a great character and the flaw is just that we need to see more of him. I think the key is finding situations where he has to interact with others because he needs something from them or needs to work with them or study something they do.

In other news, so many of the students and staff can't use the arrows, starting tomorrow in game, the school is implementing tactile arrows as well.
I feel like this is something that may help something right now. I don't exactly read every post, but it's here if it helps.
Also, does the school have a full, official title? Like the Charles Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters?

I think that might actually be the name, just with Avalon instead of Charles Xavier.
Your memory is slipping, bro. Avalon Academy is the name. Although I'm pretty sure it says Avalon Academy for Gifted Youngsters on the plaque outside of the building. Geez. No wonder you needed time off! ;P

Part of the reason he's elusive is because he grates on me.
He reminds me a lot of my childhood self.
In fact, I kinda guess he may be based on my childhood self, who avoided anyone they didn't get along with, and hence, never made firends.
I think that the characters that draw from the parts of ourselves that make us uncomfortable are by far the most difficult to write for. It's cathartic over time, but definitely not easy. I know I've had that experience. Part of it is being willing to stay in that uncomfortable place long enough for the character to change and grow beyond that place.
On the other hand, if the character is genuinely making you miserable to play and you just don't want to, there's no reason why Igni can't just graduate and go help rebuild in the new firebird community, but on his terms rather than how their parents wanted. The thing about the Pheobus family is that while their parents have made some very questionable decisions, they genuinely do love their children and are realizing after the confrontation with the council that they have to change as well if they don't want to lose them.

I thought it was already doing that. Like some kind of vibration or some such for Djalos.
Adon's problem is because of his anti magic. Totally different kettle of fish. Plus, some challenges are good for characters now and then. That's how the story grows. :)

Hey, you try figuring out repercussions on the timeline because of [REDACTED], eventually figuring out that means [REDACTED] is in the school, and see how much time off you need. :p

Igni might have some potential to be tolerable, but the problem lies in his nature to simply head away from a situation rather then stay.
I can't change that without changing him, and continuity is crazy important to me.
EDIT-
It occurs to me that there may actually be something to play on, there.
After all, igni's primary motivator is the desire to be better then everyone else.
He has no delusions that he already is, and knows it's a moving goalpost, but when he knows he's simply the best at something, or better then others, it gives him quite a rewarding feeling.
So, he may decide his Social facade needs work, to avoid being lesser then others in that regard.

Well, that sounds promising. *makes notes regarding potential progress in Operation: Change Fate*
