Well, yea, that I knew, I meant like actual physical form. Ie, could some firebirds look more like an eagle/hawk while others might be more akin to a raven/crow, and yet a third group appear as phoenixes?

Lucas has a lot of red and gold in his plumage

They're all the same basic shape. So there are variations in size or length of tail or lots and lots of variation in color of plumage. But it's all the same basic phoenix shape. You're not going to mistake what kind of bird they are if you're familiar with them at all.

Hey Lyn, as a minor power for Serrin from being the Champion of Darkness, would it OK if all her normal summons added the Shadow template? But, only where the regular summon monster spell would add celestial or fiendish, ie, I believe only animals.

Yeah, that sounds fine

Cool! I figure minor works as if you're good they're auto celestial, and fiendish if you're evil. This just swaps those templates for one of similar power level that's more thematic for her.

Ugh. New thumb brace is helping keep my thumb from slipping out of socket pretty well, but it's a bear to type with. >.<
I think I need to get a less cumbersome brace when I go to the pharmacy. I should have known this one would be trouble when it said one size fits most. Naturally it's too big on my tiny hands and is impeding function for my hand and my wrist as well as my thumb.

Hay Lyn, a quick request for an approval of an idea-
Someone training to be a ninja by serving food in the lunchroom during free time, tryi to do it without being seen or heard. Intended to be just a minor charecter, but wanted approval first.
Sounds fun! By all means, go right ahead. :)

lynora |

Thumb brace 2.0, this time sized for tiny hands! Seems to be working better all around. And I can move my fingers freely, which makes typing worlds easier. Among other things. :)
So that means hopefully that there will be wordier posts ahead in the near future. ^.^

Hey everyone... sorry about the silence... work has been...well, exhausting. I am barely keeping up with my society games.
anyway. I have almost 300 posts to sift through, but to speed things up is there anything pressing that I need to post on?
Phaedra asked Lang if he had any plans for the day (after getting scolded by Cindra for being impolite about it) because she wants to go play outside.
Morrivan just discovered the room expansion now that she's fully awake and is waiting on Mel's reaction.
I think that sums up where your characters left off. :)

Regarding the reply function and large posts, and so on, I do try and cut them short when they're approaching the length cutoff. Obviously, since I am involved in many scenes at once I use reply for almost everything for the sake of clarity, and speed and distraction mean I don't always remember to cut them off. (Oddly, when you get a really long string of all short replies, you can go to an absolutely absurd length before words get cut off on replies) Anyhow, I can try to be more aware of length, but I make no promises about cutting reply at one post back, since there are times when that hurts context and/or I ran short on time and/or I was posting from my phone (which happens more often than I'd like, though not as much lately as I'm a thumb typist on the phone and one hurt thumb means slooooow phone typing) and it's too much of a bear to format stuff on the phone. Which is, I suspect, what's at the root of the request in the first place.
TL;DR I'll try to remember to cut the replies strings shorter, but no promises because sometimes it just doesn't work out.

Lyn,
Do we need to get you a decent tablet so you can post easier/better on the go?
lol. No, I actually recently switched away from an iPad to a MacBook. But the iPad was wifi only, same as the laptop is, so only useful in some places. So I end up posting from my phone when I'm away from wifi and stuck waiting somewhere (such is the life of Mom's taxi service :P). What I really need is a phone with a bigger screen, but I'm trying to hold out for a few more months until the current one hits the two year mark. There's no way I can justify paying for phone costs for two devices to have a phone and a tablet both. Our phone bill is scary enough already. :)

That's fair. I've just been having a reoccurring issue with the last post in a line of quotes (and therefore the one I'm replying to) getting cut off halfway through. I can copy and paste it from the text itself, but that doesn't keep formatting, and I usually have to open up another tab to do it, which, as I'm on my phone exclusively, is never fun.
I'm sure it's easier for me to say this and do all this stuff than it is for you with your thumb that way, but I'd appreciate anything you could do. :)
On the note of the tablet, have you considered using your phone for Mobile Hotspot to give the tablet internet?

Funny story. I was going to say that the mobile hotspot would be an extra monthly fee, but after getting an insanely high phone bill my husband called the phone company. Apparently our old plan was discontinued, which caused crazy fees to pile up, but after much negotiation we have a new one now that has the mobile hotspot included. Problem solved! :)

Cool, glad that worked out. :)

Not only can I do math, I also have problem solving skills.
Not to mention trying to render a room like that is a major drain on resources.
Ergo, major creation summoned physical permanent room. No longer magical.
The mix of things are physical objects that are brought into a room which is deleted after that for some reason or other. Not much of a way to determine what's his since the whole thing was a bit of a blind spot, so he can just have all the things.
As far as determining his race, I do have access to the student files, and I'm the one that did the room assignments in the first place.

I think the key for writing for adolescent characters is having them trying to figure things out. I remember that being a big deal when I was that age, and I know having conversations with the kidlet that a lot of the time he's looking for reassurance. Is this normal? Is this okay? How do I deal with this? Why do people act like this? Is it always going to be this bad? And of course the background that someone comes from, whether they're encouraged or put down, if they have a happy home life or a really bad one, all of that factors in too. But universally it's just flailing around, trying different ideas on, looking for some place to fit in. Which is of course the whole reason for Avalon in the first place: a place for the ones who don't fit anywhere else. And I find that when I have a character that finally has all their crap sorted out, that's when I have them graduate. If they haven't graduated yet, they don't have things as together as it may look like. :)
As far as I've been reading so far, I think all of you guys are doing a great job with that. But since this got brought up in the first place regarding Jessa, I think that Jessa is a really fun, complex character and comes across like the right age and so on from my point of view, yes.
Anyhow, it's an interesting subject. And there's really a lot there to explore. Which is why so much of the game focuses on the interpersonal relationships between characters. ^.^

Okay, so do we have all of the members of the away team now ready for departure for the Equinox festival? :)
Oh, and Magic, should I just fast-forward a bit through the game on the train? I can just make the fort rolls for the poor fools to see which of them keels over in which order if you'd rather.

lynora |

In other news, my list of old plots to clear up is down to four and two of those are already in motion, one is going to be set in motion soon, and the last one is going to be triggered by the results of the first two. Getting all of these off my plate will make it much easier to focus on bringing in new material going forward. :)
Ah, the fun times that come from doing all the behind the scenes stuff nobody but me ever looks at... :P

Fei hasn't even gotten to the library to find anything out about this festival....so no ;P
Besides, he needs to spend a little time with Dara (even if it is just set up and put in the background for the rest of the morning). I just revisited their interaction from the previous week [and 3 years of real posting time ago]).

lynora |

Blergh. Turns out I was not loopy entirely because of medicine, but also because I was feverish. Stomach flu suuuuucks. :(
I can post up a basic primer on Laeren for the benefit of Fei, Ace, and Lim-Mor since all of you guys would at least know the basics of how to behave. It had slipped my mind that I had not shared that info, so apologies for that and thanks for bringing it up. :)
It's cool if you want to have an interaction with Fei and Dara before we get started. Sorry if I sounded impatient last night. I get a wee bit manic when I'm running a fever, and I was working on setting up all the background stuff for various things, so I was in checklist mode. The good news is that I got all that done while I had all that frantic energy, so now I can relax a little. :P

I'm good to go, I was gonna suggest a picnic lunch with Ginni and the puppy, but that can clearly happen off screen, as I'm not thinking much would come of it.

Sorry for my absence the last couple days. Was finals week at school. Today was my last one, presenting on Spirited Away for film class in the kimono I made in costume class.
But now I graduate with my associates on Monday, and then more college!
I'll get onto posts right now.
Congratulations, Magic!!
