It seemed like the shadows were not chasing us. I say we buy enough potions of Invis vs. Undead and just move past them. If anyone has any gold, we should kick in for that.

M Elf HP:33/33, AC:19/T:15/FF:14 - Percep: +10(LL Vis) F:+4/R:+9/W:+3 CMD: 20, Spd: 30ft, Init: +6 Rogue 4 (Pregen)

The only thing I am worried about is that we pass them, get crumped again, then find ourselves between the devil and the deep blue sea. I am of a mind for someone to invis up, sneak past to see what is on the other side of them, pop an Oil of Magic weapon on our blades and open the fight by the invis person holy watering one (there was only two left) - it should see us only having to deal with one then, and that should be a much better fight with two weapons in the game

Happy to chat it through, but am sort of keen on clearing forward a bit - just dont want to pass them and then find there's more. That said we could always buy more potions if people want to kick in, but that was pretty much Bloodless net worth just spent.

If they don't 'respawn', then we have killed half of the shadows.

Bejis has 600 gp he's been saving, also towards a magic weapon. He can contribute some, though we do need real magic weapons.

Female Elf Rogue 2/Wizard(Air Elementalist) 3 (HP 33/33; AC 14(18 w/Mage Armor), FF 14, T 18)

I already have 5 Holy Waters, 5 acid, some alchemist fire and alchemist ice. I did not use them before as I was sort of trying to avoid death - and you all having 3 shadows to fight.

I have 430gp that can be used. If we can get enough to buy a magic sword, that would be my preference, but this would pretty much deplete our resources.

Female Halfling Copper Draconic Sorcerer 4 | HP 27/30| AC 16 | Saves: Str+0, Dex+3, Con+4, Int+0, Wis+0, Cha+6 | PasPercpt10 | Skills: Arcana+2, Deception+6, Persuasion+6, SleightofHand+5 | Init.+3 | SpellAttack+6 | SpellSave14

Ive got 176 gp to contribute to the fund. I would like a couple more potions of Invisibility to Undead, but the remainder, I'm good with it being spent however.

M Elf HP:33/33, AC:19/T:15/FF:14 - Percep: +10(LL Vis) F:+4/R:+9/W:+3 CMD: 20, Spd: 30ft, Init: +6 Rogue 4 (Pregen)

Sweet, I'd love a magic sword, do we really have the budget? Need 2k. Only having one weapon in play was a huge handicap a minute ago though. I don't mind what we do, but make decisions. On a side note, I posted the intention on Wednesday last week, and its now Monday. A week for feedback and contributions? If we had all these supplies it would have been handy to know that days ago.

As far as the shadows go the situation with them is much worse than you think. Being able to effectively kill them will be a big help but tbh, this fight is a huge choke point for many groups so the thing to do might be just to clear a path and run past them if you can.

I think we are losing focus here and should take the advice of the DM by using the potions of Invis vs. Undead to move past them.

Male Orc Expert 5

So, shopping?

Male Human Barbarian 5

Assuming the party will take days, it would be the quickest way to get what looks to be 'on track'. If Bejis isn't needed, he would continue to explore, (though I don't want to bog the thread down covering him walking around and explicitly not touching anything).

Female Elf Rogue 2/Wizard(Air Elementalist) 3 (HP 33/33; AC 14(18 w/Mage Armor), FF 14, T 18)

Enough is enough. Two go shopping and the other three search the mansion.

Bloodless and Bingo can head out to get the new equipment. Bejis, Teo and I will carefully search as many rooms as we can working clockwise around the building. Since I assume that the shopping team will take several hours, we should be able to take-20 on our search.

I have Perception +9, Bejis is +8 and Teo is +4. So if we all take-10, it is a Perception 23. If the take-20 is allowed, then it is a Perception 33.

If anyone wants anything other than what Bloodless previously listed, post it within 24 hours, otherwise, lets consider the searching/shopping to be done at that point and we can head back to argue with the shadows.

Male Gnome Oracle (Heavens) 4 AC 20/12/18 (+2 in urban terrain) / HP 26/26 /F +4 R +3 W +5/Init. +1/Perc. +11 (+5 at night)

Just a note: I have a perception of +11 and if I can see a window into the nights sky it goes to +16

Female Elf Rogue 2/Wizard(Air Elementalist) 3 (HP 33/33; AC 14(18 w/Mage Armor), FF 14, T 18)

I figure with your Charisma and stats, you are better suited to be shopping/negotiating late at night versus the rest of us. And Bloodless knows the area and has the strength to get everything back.

Male Gnome Oracle (Heavens) 4 AC 20/12/18 (+2 in urban terrain) / HP 26/26 /F +4 R +3 W +5/Init. +1/Perc. +11 (+5 at night)

I'm assuming the shopping trip will happen 'off camera', we had a month to try knock over the ap and theres now 20 days left - so it really has to now all be about the action, and maybe some content trimming if this is going to make schedule :)

To that end, maybe 5x Hide Undead Scrolls to invis past the first fight (cheaper option) and find out what the GM has n store for us on the far side.

With 2 more Oil of Magic Weapon, we should be able to clear it easily enough, but the Hide from Undead would (hopefully) work.

Female Elf Rogue 2/Wizard(Air Elementalist) 3 (HP 33/33; AC 14(18 w/Mage Armor), FF 14, T 18)

The only problem with the Hide from Undead is that if we have to flee, we are right back facing the shadows. I was one hit from done last time.

Male Orc Expert 5

Can't do both? Sneak past with hide from undead and magic oil incase you have to fight through them? Easier to punch a hole to retreat than to get in. At least then you know where to go.

So I have:

Bloodless and Bingo waiting till dawn to go shop?

And:

The rest scouring the mansion through the sweaty orgy?

Correct? I'm updating tomorrow under this assumption if no one responds.

Male Gnome Oracle (Heavens) 4 AC 20/12/18 (+2 in urban terrain) / HP 26/26 /F +4 R +3 W +5/Init. +1/Perc. +11 (+5 at night)

I believe that is the plan.

Yep, just summarise the heck out of it, we can invis up and ninja past the Shadows - hence the extra scrolls. Only got about 50 days left to get-r-done so we kinda need to get ripping in :)

Thats the plan

Male Orc Expert 5

By and by you guys did take the magic items off the dead elf correct? You may want to go through those if you haven't already.

Bloodless's Group:
Money in hadn you await the dawn which is long in coming due to the weather. Still you manage to make it out into the still torrential rain and make your way to the shops where normally Bloosless might be lucky to get something other than a derisvie remark and a comment to get the hell out of the shop. But, his still recent status as a theater celebrity opens doors to him that would have otherwise remain shut forever. He gets a 10% discount on all mundane items and a 25% discount on the magic items.

Aerieth Group:
Your time is...strange. When you awaken from your rest in a couple of guest rooms you chose to leave the majority of your gear behind not allowing the added weight to ruin your comfort as you traipse about the mayor's home mostly unmolested. Taking your time you do room by room searches being sure not to be spotted. The only close call was when Aerieth attempted to unlock a certain locked door when a naked and drunken mayor stumbled down the hall with a bottle of wine in one hand. He moved so quietly you never even knew he was there until he belched adn looked down at the thin and quickly panicking elf.

Instead of the bellowed alarm you were expecting he leans in and starts slurring criticisms and suggestions about your performance, how you can certainly pull off the weathered old man look if you tried. This awkward moment is made even more awkward as the naked mayor's sceptre of office slowly but continually rose and throbbed to attention. After a minute or two of trying not to stare, vomit, or just run Bejis takes the man by the shoulder and leads him away to politely ask questions about his own performance. To which the mayor happily obliges before he sees some naked wistful thing stumble out of a door and he feels obliged to help her back into a bed.

But perhaps more terrifying than that is the strange visions you continue to have as you explore the mansion. In a rose garden with a pool of illusionary honey maggots adn blood drip from the thorns until you blink or attempt to point them out adn then they disappear. In a false day sky a horrific devil face looms into focus and grins wickedly before disappearing (or before you point it out).

Over the course of your search you find the following
Two heavily locked chests. One hidden behind a secret door another hidden at the foot of a bed in a llocked chest. The room looked like the majordomos.

In an empty bedchamber hidden in a compartment in the headboard a potion of lesser restoration, a potion of remove disease, a scroll of dispel magic, a scroll of remove curse, a wand of cure serious wounds (18 charges), and a wand of restoration (11 charges)Not a typo.

Oh look there's all the wealth that's been missing these past few levels. BTW none of that is me adding extra.

When bloodless and bingomite finally return with gear in hand the party is still in full swing. Sex, drugs, and alcohol continue to flow freely as people only awaken from a crash due to binging to binge further on one of the three available.

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25 Will Save

Teo:
As the day passes you feel an overwhelming sense of dread. OCcasionally you get the itch to look over your shoulder only to find that nothing's there. As the day progresses the sense of forboding only gets worse.

Male Human Barbarian 5

Aerieth Group:
If Bejis is having dreams about the room, he will suggest a thorough search of that room, preferably with everyone together.

Teo chugs her potion, and follows the others to sneak b the undead, and see what else lies ahead in that section of the manor.

Male Orc Expert 5

Passing back through the mirror and through the corridor the dead elf appears to have decomposed the slightest bit more.

Passing through the stair case room again leaves you very much afraid of the spell failing as you pass through the first stair case room. Both rooms you fin not two shadows, but dozens. Occasionally one will flit through the mirrors on the other side before flitting back out into the room. Mostly they just float silently awaiting more victims. None pass beyond the rooms thresholds.

As you pass from there you go down another massive stair case that crosses over a bottomless chasm 50ft across before reaching the entryway to a large dark hall. From within the hall you can hear a terrible muffled howling with hard and repetitive clanging.

Male Orc Expert 5

POOOOKE

Bloodless shifts forward quietly, cracking the door for a peek inside, sword drawn and expecting trouble.

Where are we roughly in terms of the old map?

Male Orc Expert 5

Coming in from the east side. You by passed the shadows, entered another similar room sans mirror also crawling with shadows and went down a long staircase that ended into this hall.

Bloodless takes a look around and sees that it's a large rectangular room with six smaller rooms within. While he can't see well from the doorway he notices the one room he does see has a thick black metal door barred across it with a single small observation window in it.

Male Gnome Oracle (Heavens) 4 AC 20/12/18 (+2 in urban terrain) / HP 26/26 /F +4 R +3 W +5/Init. +1/Perc. +11 (+5 at night)

Um, yes well.. perhaps it was best that we had the potions after all. Bingo whispers now that they have passed through the room filled with dozens of shadows. Gulping he realizes however they don't have enough to return the way that they came. I ah.. suppose we go onward then. Trundling forward the brave gnome walks to the door and tries to peak through the window before sighing when he realizes that he is too short to see through the slit. Hopping up and down he frowned before glancing at Bloodless. Hey big fella, gimme a boost?

"Tell us what you see, Bingo," Teo nervously calls out, also worrying about how in the world the small group was going to escape this place with all the evil undead stalking the area.

Male Orc Expert 5

Looking into each of the six cells most of them are sealed and only contain a straw mattress and the mummified remains of some unfortunate prisoner. The last two rooms however contain somethign different. One room is empty save a straw mattress and the door is unbarred.

The last room however contains a bearded devil not too dissimilar from the one who played the bailiff in the paly you were in. However this one appears ragged and stark raving mad. It continually slams itslef against the walls and occasionally attacks the door in a wild rampage. It bears a dark red crystalline glaive which it grips tightly. Occasionally through its mad gibbering and howls you can hear a name "Darghentu".

Know History 13:
The name may be refferring to Darghentu Vheed the previous lord-mayor before Arvanxi took over. He was a sorcerer and also sadistic if the rumors are true.

Male Gnome Oracle (Heavens) 4 AC 20/12/18 (+2 in urban terrain) / HP 26/26 /F +4 R +3 W +5/Init. +1/Perc. +11 (+5 at night)

Ah well, that does pose a bit of a problem.

Poking his head up to the window Bingo waves to the devil. You there! Yes you sir. I don't suppose you would care to give us that lovely blade? Laughing nervously to himself, Bingo reconsidered his words. And by give us the blade I don't mean impale us upon its shaft. Er, half. More like, Oh yes, here you are good man. Please take it.

"Don't suppose he'd just hand it to us?"

"I'm also up for taking it off him."

Bloodless tests his sword for a moment, ready to rush the room and engage the thing at an opportune moment.

Male Orc Expert 5

As if in response the Bearded devil slams itself against the door with a blood curdling howl.

Female Elf Rogue 2/Wizard(Air Elementalist) 3 (HP 33/33; AC 14(18 w/Mage Armor), FF 14, T 18)

Knowledge(history): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16

Aerieth scratches her head for a moment:

Wasn't Darghentu Vheed lord-mayor before Arvanxi took over. If I recall correctly, he was a sorcerer, and also extremely sadistic.

Seeing the devil:
Not sure if it would work, but I could protect someone from evil, and that person could block the door. Then the rest of us could shoot the devil. As long as the person does not attack the devil, I do not think that the protection can be broken.

Not sure if a Protection from Evil spell will work this way or not.

Male Orc Expert 5

Aerieth only if makes a DC 15 spellcraft:
Not likely to work. IF the devil were summoned yes. But such spells are short in duration at best. Just a cursory glance lets you know thsi devil's been here for years, likely brought into this world to be used as a servant by the previous mayor until it displeased him in some way.

Female Elf Rogue 2/Wizard(Air Elementalist) 3 (HP 33/33; AC 14(18 w/Mage Armor), FF 14, T 18)

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23

Aerieth considers her prior statement:
Hmmm, actually, he looks like he has been here a long time. My spell will protect someone, but probably not keep the devil from attacking, since I doubt he was summoned.
