Male Orc Expert 5

Impossible to tell how deep the cesspit is. It's not very wide however and seems only to serve as an emergency run off holder in case of heavy rain. The box can be reached with a bit of leaning and an Acrobatics check to keep from falling in.

Sighing in relief Janiven rubs some grime off the walll to reveal one of the marks glancing your way to see if you're ready to move on.

Half-Elf (Chelaxian) Female HP 109, AC 26/18/21, F +13*, R +11*, W +15*, Init +8, Per +22 Inquisitor 13

Any signs of magic?

Male Orc Expert 5

calla:
2 minor conjuration auras.

"Whatever it is, it's magical."

Spellcraft check to try to determine what it is (DC is 15+item's caster level): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20

Calla:
Probably should mention the magic is in said box. So I'll hold the roll until you get an actual look at what's inside.

"Then possibly something of significant value."

Rhys moves up to the edge of the cesspit, and attempts to get a hold of the box; he drops on his knees and reaches down...

Acrobatics check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

Male Orc Expert 5

With relative ease Rhys reaches over and pulls the box free of the skeleton which crumbles into a sloppy mess with its skull bouncing down the pile and makin g a soft plopping noise as it hits the water adn bobs in the water before being washed away in the waters flow.

Within the box are 12 pieces of gold and a pair of silver necklaces. In addition there are two vials that have been convieniently labeled cure light wounds.

"These magical, Calla?" He dangles the necklaces between his fingers. "I don't reckon we have much time to figure out what they do - do we, Janiven?"

He hands one of the potions to LeVash and pockets the other one in his cloak.

Half-Elf (Chelaxian) Female HP 109, AC 26/18/21, F +13*, R +11*, W +15*, Init +8, Per +22 Inquisitor 13

"No, the magic I was seeing was from the potion you put in your pocket and gave to LeVash."

"These, however," she continues, reaching out and taking one of the necklaces and putting it in a pouch, "are enchanting in their own way.

"Shall we continue on, now that Janiven seems to have found the way again?"

I'm assuming this is all correct; Tark told me I saw two conjuration essences, which would account for the two potions.

Edgar waits calmy, keeping an eye and ear out for any sounds out of the ordinary. That is of course not ordinary for a rotting sewer. Perception Check 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13. When the box is finally dredged up, Edgar smiles. "Maybe the gods are smiling on us. We need to keep moving."

This assumption is correct. Unfortunately I jsut got off work and have about 8 hours to go to bed then get up and go back so will have a proper updating post tomorrow afternoon. Sry. :(

Well real fast like I think I can.

Moving onward you seem to reach and dip into the darkest parts of the sewer going past even the small suface grates and exits into pitched blackness. Ahead Janiven stops and gestures for everyone to keep quiet. Ahead of you there are the sounds of a fierce battle. For now though you see nothing. Janiven frowns as each of you know that in order to go around you'd have to backtrack back to the chest marker, a dangerous proposition indeed if the hellknights are still on your scent.

"Don't like the sound of that."

Rhys keeps his voice to a whisper as he skulks up past the others, keeping close to the wall. He makes sure that the arrow is properly notched on his bow. "Wait here, I'll go check. As soon as I see the fight, I'll return."

He begins the advance into the tunnel.

Stealth check: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Perception check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20

Rhys will walk towards the fight - he should be able to see whatever it is when he's within 60 feet. Also, if he spots anything or anybody else, he will stop in his tracks.

Male Human Rogue 1 (burgler)

As Janiven leads the group through the tunnels, Rokan tires to remember the route and the symbols, hoping to use them in the future when the rooftops unavailable.

When Rhys lifts the necklaces, Rokan's eyes gleam, "What do we have here, jewelry in this hole. Perhaps this whole endeavor could turn profitable, If we live"

As the group stops at the sound of battle, Rokan watches Rhys move off into the darkness, "idiots gonna get either get himself or us killed".

Once Rhys dissapears, Rokan wordlessly slips off after him, melting into the darkness

Rokan will wait till Rhys is out of sight, then move after him silently. Stealth check 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13.

Once he reaches the edge of the torch light, he will try to find the best spot to wait, and hide himself. additional stealth check for hiding 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27.

He will ready his main hand short sword to attack any enemy following rhys if he come srunning back

Male Orc Expert 5

Rhys:
As you head down the tunnl the sounds of combat die down when you reach the mouth of a strangely shaped intersection. To your right two tunnels go parallel to one another as they move. To your left a single tunnel exists and you watch as soemthing like a torch or a lantern fades to blackness. In the etner is a small cesspit. Not fair from you are a pair of skeletons. One stands in mute triumph over the body of a hellknight its claws dripping with gore. Another, has a hellknight in a chokehold and you watch with no small satisfaction as the hellknight turns to you with his life fading from his eyes showing an all too human fear and with a small gurgle, he dies. The sksleton releases his grip and th hellknight falls to the ground with a heavy metallic sound of chainmail and bodies hitting the floor. Now, there is only silence and (un)death.

Well, serves them right...best go back and tell the others.

He starts making his way back to the group.

I wonder if Janiven knos the undead roam these sewers...

Half-Elf (Chelaxian) Female HP 109, AC 26/18/21, F +13*, R +11*, W +15*, Init +8, Per +22 Inquisitor 13

Calla waits impatiently for the two men to return, wanting to say something about the foolishness of rushing off alone, but knowing someone needed to see if they would be able to continue forward.

Turning back the way we came, she keeps out for any signs of pursuit.

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23

Male Human (Chelaxian) Druid (Urban) - 4

LeVash nods to himself as Rhys scouts ahead, Useful to be a half-orc right now, though he is somewhat surprised when Rokan does so, but simply shrugs, and mutes Edgar's torch somewhat under his cloak so as not to alert others in the tunnels.

won't do diddly against undead, but LeVash isn't aware that they are there yet :)

Tapping his foot impatiently, Edgar muttesr "Come on Rhys come on...your ass better get back here safe or I swear to the gods I will beat the stupid out of you." Edgar keeps watch as best he can, constantly scanning the area, warhammer and shield at the ready.

Perception Check 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

Male Orc Expert 5

As Rhys makes his way down the sounds of battle eventually fade and then stop. A few moments after, Rhys returns.

Male Human Rogue 1 (burgler)

Perception check 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17 to see if he's been followed, if so, will wait and try to suprise whomever /wahtever it is, otherwise, return to the gorup as well

Rokan waits silently, listening for Rhys's return. Once Rhys passses, Rokan waits a few moments straining his senses into the darkness.

Nothing follows him. Except he might have passed gas. Maybe. Difficult to tell.

"Wish I got good news. There's undead up ahead - killed a couple of hellknights for us, though."

He glances back into the tunnel. "For all we know, they're heading this way. They didn't see me, though."

"Did you know of this, Janiven?"

His fingers are very firmly digging into the arrow's fletching.

Male Orc Expert 5

Janiven frowns. "No. I had heard rumors of necromantic cults down here from long ago but me and Areael didn't see anything liek what you describe. A goblin or two, the Torbles of course but not undead."

"Well, there are at least two of them up ahead. Do we carry on this way?"

He shuffles a little. My patience is running thin.

"We need to get moving. If we go down and have to deal with the undead then fine. My hammer can take care of em." Edgar looks behind them, making sure that he hears nothing and sees nothing.

"For once we agree on something."

He smiles at Edgar. Almost too honestly. Quickly, he changes his smile into a smirk as he looks at Rokan, Calla and LeVash.

Edgar stares at Rhys, his face dead serious. "We used to agree on alot, but that is neither here nor there. We need to get safe before we deal with our...issues."

Half-Elf (Chelaxian) Female HP 109, AC 26/18/21, F +13*, R +11*, W +15*, Init +8, Per +22 Inquisitor 13

"Ah think you two should have your little talk another time. While Ah'm in a sewer ain't the right time."

"Janiven, do you know another way around? Ah think we might want to avoid some living dead that can rip apart a pair o' Hellknights..."

Male Human (Chelaxian) Druid (Urban) - 4

"I'm more concerned that this means they are already ahead of us, at least in part."

Male Human Rogue 1 (burgler)

"I agree LeVash, though they may still think we're further ahead. between the blocked tunnel, the way we came, and the undead, I'll hazard the last."

Male Orc Expert 5

Janiven shakes her head. "There might be a way around but we'll spend a great deal of time trying to find a way back to the path. If we go back we risk running into more hellknights. We'll have to fight, but that doesn't mean we have to be dumb about it. I'm pretty decent with this bow of mine though arrows honestly don't mean much to some undead. Any magics or skills about you that we can utilize?"

Half-Elf (Chelaxian) Female HP 109, AC 26/18/21, F +13*, R +11*, W +15*, Init +8, Per +22 Inquisitor 13

"Ah've got one spell prepared that will be useful in a fight against the walking dead, but Ah'm more prepared to go up against the living. Ah can hold my own with mah sword as well."

Male Human (Chelaxian) Druid (Urban) - 4

"Forward, then."

"I have my own means to shatter the undead. Will we hurry along, or do you prefer me skulking behind?"

Edgar hefts his warhammer meaningfully. "Lets go deal with the undead for now. As much as I like the idea of them killing hellknights I dont like the idea of leaving them behind us."

Half-Elf (Chelaxian) Female HP 109, AC 26/18/21, F +13*, R +11*, W +15*, Init +8, Per +22 Inquisitor 13

Calla looks dubiously at the diminutive half-orc. "We're already crawling through a sewer. False bravado's not going to make it smell any better."

And with that, I'll be out of touch until this evening. If you need to DMPC me, please feel free. Assuming these undead are corporeal, I'll probably save my magic missile spell for a possible Hellknight encounter, unless I really need it. She'll use her arcane pool to enchant her sword and leap into the fray, though. If Edgar and Rhys want to take the lead, she'll instead use the pool on her bow, and fire a short before either of them close for combat.

Male Orc Expert 5

Hang on throwing map together. Going to go ahead with plan "make Rokan wait in the back" until he posts.

Male Orc Expert 5

At the edge of your visions you come across a room not dissimilar to the one where you found the treasure chest. Before Edgar can even see the skellies proper a pair of them emerge from the darkness with bony gore covered claws raised. He barely fends off a swiping blow from the first one. Janiven curses the wall of flesh between her and the skeletons and keeps Morisono away from the others as she waits an opportunity to fire.

Initiative:
Calla1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

LeVash1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Rokan1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10 Hmmm you dont have your initiative written down anywhere.

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14

Group Average:17.6

Skellies go first. Order of your post will determine the order you go in the initiative of the group. Lemme know if there's an issue with how the order of people are.

Map is here.

Male Human (Chelaxian) Druid (Urban) - 4

LeVash pulls his shield up tight, grasping something on his bandolier, "Here in the depths, the ground itself aids our cause."
Casting Bless

After dodging the blow of the skeleton, Edgar quickly swings his hammer in an angry arc directly at the one in front of him.

Attack with Warhammer - Attack Roll 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 Damage 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

Male Human (Chelaxian) Druid (Urban) - 4

I don't think it will make a difference in this case, but don't forget everyone has +1 to hit from Bless.

Half-Elf (Chelaxian) Female HP 109, AC 26/18/21, F +13*, R +11*, W +15*, Init +8, Per +22 Inquisitor 13

Calla pulls her sword from its sheath, and concentrates for a moment, causing it to begin emitting a slight green glow.

Swift action to use 1 point from her arcane pool to make the blade +1. With Edgar in her way, I'm assuming she has no room to attack or aid Edgar, however. She'll hold her action and await a possible opening, at which point she'll attack.

Attack/aid another to give Edgar a boost, including Bless bonus: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 3 + 1 = 17
Damage: 1d8 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 3 + 1 = 9

"Ah've got no room to attack, Edgar. Push them back so there's room to fight!

Rhys doesn't raise his bow - the thin corridor and all his clustered allies makes him uneasy. He peers at Janiven and LeVash, and then up the sewer walls.

What to do...

Delaying action.

Male Orc Expert 5

Will be NPCing Rokan if he doesn't post in a couple of hours.

Male Human Rogue 1 (burgler)

Rokan will use a double move to squeeze past the others and use acrobatics to get past the skeleton. acrobatics check 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25

Rokan, Rushes past the others and dives past the skeleton, twisting in hopes of avoiding being struck.

"Excuse me , coming through! Hey, bone breat, out of our way!

Male Orc Expert 5

With an impressive display of agility Rokan pushes through the group and slides underneath the the skeletons swiping reach to flank with Edgar. Unfortunately the other skeleton simply moves into position finding Rokan in a precarious position barely dodging a bloody swipe from the skeleton.

Male Human (Chelaxian) Druid (Urban) - 4

"Rokan, watch your back. We are depending on you and Edgar to strike true!"

Inspiring Command: Rokan receives a +2 Insight Bonus to Attacks, Saves, AC, CMD and skill checks for one round (on top of the bless bonus to hit)

Male Human Rogue 1 (burgler)

Knowing all to well the precarious position he's in, Rokan quickly lashes out with both blades, trying to down the flanked Skeleton.

full attack against flanked zombie. 1st attack 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14 damage 1d6 ⇒ 1 sneakl attack 1d6 ⇒ 2
2nd attack 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 damage 1d6 ⇒ 1 sneak attack 1d6 ⇒ 5

edit: forgot bless, and adding the inspiring command makes the 2 attacks +17, and +7.

Edger glowers and tries again to take down the skeleton.

Attack Roll vs Skeleton (with bless and flank) - 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20. Damage Roll 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
