Well did anyone consider looking around the mansion? I bet we could have robbed the place blind of anything we found, considering how soused up everyone was. A little late perhaps but regardless..

TarkXT |

Bingo buffs his allies as they struggle with the silent death before them. Bejis manages to carve a chucnk out of nothing while bloodless struggles to help without becoming a victim of their life stealing touch himself.
Awaiting Teo's action before moving on.
Frankly, I think you guy should back off and regroup. I'm fairly sure unless you've got soem fancy footwork going Aerieth is dead. Followed by one or two others very shortly.

Bingomite Ralorphus Tealeaf |

What do you say guys? Myself and Aerieth are both at 3 STR.. we are getting our asses kicked. I'm assuming we don't have much leeway when it comes to sneaking out of this place because the party is ongoing. My concern is that I just used my one and only Oil of Magic Weapon and my only Potion of Invisibility vs Undead.

Teo Brissett |

Sorry for the delay, guys. There isn't anything Teo can do without becoming visible. I'm just going to start heading back down to the entry portal thingie. Maybe we can find a way out, because we are in serious trouble.

Aerieth Deventis |

I am sort of screwed either way. I have tried to escape several times, but I cannot get past them to get back to where the rest of you want to escape to. I tried to run away, but the shadows keep nailing me. Even when I had like a 22 AC, they were rolling 20s and rocking me. I do not know how to get out at this point. With my strength, I am encumbered no matter what I do.
Unless Bloodless and Bejis somehow manage to take down the shadows, I do not see much light at the end of the tunnel for me.

I guess your two options are attempt to run away (@Tark: Which way is the way we came in?), or try to hide somewhere that Bejis could AoO and hopefully roll high damage.
I suppose it's too late to get a Protection from Evil on Aerieth.
Edit: And go away from the light if you see it

Teo Brissett |

I have tried to hand off a potion of Invisibility to Undead a few rounds ago, but no one ever got back to me on it. Other than that, I don't know what to do.

Teo Brissett |

When I did that, my Invisibility would have worn off as well. And we'd still be in the same spot, I think.

Aerieth Deventis |

If I withdraw toward Bingo, I will take at least one AoO. If it hits, I am done. My posted action is to withdraw back to the bottom of the room and hope that the shadows do not follow. They will draw AoO, but since most of you cannot damage them, that might be irrelevant. Also, other than the +2 to AC for protection from evil, I do not think that it will help. It only stops summoned creatures and I do not think that shadows count as summoned.
I have Protect from Evil memorized I believe.

Bloodless |

I think if Teo and Bingo started laying CLW/Healing in, there would be at least one more dead critter - as it is, we can't really run as there's nowhere to go, and they are faster than us anyhow - I'm just suggesting if two people opened up some healing on them we might get one or two more of them down quickly

Bejis Krupt |

If they are summoned:Third, the spell prevents bodily contact by evil summoned creatures. This causes the natural weapon attacks of such creatures to fail and the creatures to recoil if such attacks require touching the warded creature. Summoned creatures that are not evil are immune to this effect. The protection against contact by summoned creatures ends if the warded creature makes an attack against or tries to force the barrier against the blocked creature. Spell resistance can allow a creature to overcome this protection and touch the warded creature.

Depending on how many hitpoints they have, one may be close to death. If it goes down, there are only 2 left, which is more manageable (though one of those is focusing on Aerieth.)
There are too many "What If" questions for us to consider right now.

Aerieth Deventis |

I cannot retreat, I am stuck on the opposite side from the rest of you all and moving through the shadows will draw AoO which most likely will leave you all with one more shadow to fight.
I tried to retreat and the shadows all attacked me again which results in 2 AoO to move to where you are Bingo, or 1 AoO if I use a withdraw action as I must move through 2 threatened squares.
If Teo want to move to where I am and give me the Potion of Undead Invisibility, that might work.

Teo Brissett |

If we can pull that off, Teo is happy to move to you and hand you her other potion, and maybe all of us and get out of this alive!

Teo Brissett |

Teo hands off the potion to Aerieth, and then immediately heads north, ready to get out of this place and regroup.

Bejis Krupt |

Bejis feels the urge to take a parting shot before he falls back.
MW Greatsword Attack: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 8 + 1 = 27 (+1 Bless)
MW Greatsword Damage: 2d6 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (4, 6) + 12 + 1 = 23 (+1 Magic)
Bejis is ready to back into the hallway 30 foot move, if Teo and Aerieth are 'safe', otherwise move to cover them, looking to cover his allies in case they are pursued.

TarkXT |

And then on saturday...
As aerieth downs the potion there is a moment of panic as the group flees the room leaving her trapped between a trip into deeper darkness and the shadow. But the shadow wavers for a moment and the two remaining shadows lookat the running group and as they pass the boundaries into the defunct library they quiver in place for a moment before fading into darkness leavin the elf alone.
Combat's done sorry it took this long for this shrt an update.

Teo Brissett |

Teo doesn't dare risk uttering a sound as the party had apparently made it out of the undead's clutches. She continued on into the entrance, and tried to step through and leave this scary dimension.

Bejis Krupt |

"So, we know where this place is and how to get here... but we know we need more tools to do the job. Do we escape the dimension, or the house too and then return?"
"I don't think we can survive on the streets. We'll have to search the house."
Bejis looks around at the group, trying to take stock. "I don't think we have enough to heal everyone."

Aerieth Deventis |

Hoping that the shadows continue to be unable to see her, Aerieth carefully makes her way around the balcony to her companions and is nearly exhausted by the time she gets there due to the weight of her rapier and pack.
When she gets to the library she collapses to the ground.
I am sorry all, I could not avoid those shadows. Each time one of them hit me, it was as though more and more of my strength was simply drained away.
___________
Hearing Bejis and Bloodless' comments.
The house will undoubtedly be a drunken brothel for several more hours and then there will be a number of hours while it is being cleansed. We likely have sufficient time to rest for a while.

Bingomite Ralorphus Tealeaf |

Um, yes well that was quite exciting at all, but lets not do that again. Oh dear Aerieth you look terrible ah, let me see what I can do to help Clucking to himself and trying to take his mind off the shadows horrors Bingo turns to healing his group the best that he can.
_______________________________
Ok burning all four uses of my lesser restoration, since everyone is kinda messed up I'm going to spread it aroudn a bit:
[ooc]To Bingo: 1d3 ⇒ 2
To Bloodless: 1d3 ⇒ 2
To Aerieth: 1d3 ⇒ 2
To Aerieth: 1d3 ⇒ 3
And that's all I got for today. We need magic weapons and we need invisibility from undead. I also could use a day to rest to get more lesser restorations.

Teo Brissett |

Teo is out of Potions of Hide from Undead, unfortunately. I don't see any way we can get past the shadows without sneaking out and restocking on supplies, to be honest.

Aerieth Deventis |

Aerieth suddenly feels the warmth of Bingo's restorative magic. As the positive energy courses through her, you can see the unnatural draining lifted and replaced with exhaustion as she suddenly realizes that the group has been awake for many hours without a break.
With the color slowly returning to her pale elven face, she looks to the others.
I have some magical abilities, but they are limited. I can give us additional defenses or memorize some additional spells which will cause harm to the shadows.
Unfortunately, I think that we need to be prepared to hit them and hit them hard. Does anyone else have the ability to magic up Bloodless and Bejis's weapons? I do not have this ability unfortunately. As I said before, I have several vials of holy water which can be used to harm undead such as these.

Bloodless |

"Then do one or two of us need to sneak out and return to town for supplies whilst the rest hole up out of sight, ready to let us back in again quietly through a window when we return? I volunteer to return quickly to town"

Aerieth Deventis |

Do we even know where we are? I though that we were somehow transported through a one way portal to get to where we are. Wasn't there some type of portal in the attic. And then we found the dead elf in the passage just after where the portal was.

Bloodless |

"I know the streets aren't safe, I slew a shadowbeast in single combat to prove my worth and stop the doubting tongues of the resistance, not that it mattered, seems all I did was fuel tavern tales of the Great White Hunter." Bloodless tries to bring some levity to the otherwise messy situation, "The sewers likewise are awash with Hellknoght blood, we know of em eh Bejis? But yes Bingo, your suggestion holds a great degree of wisdom and I wouldn't have remembered to choose them as an entry method"

Teo Brissett |

We did go through a portal, but I don't remember checking to see if it was one way or not. If it is, we are screwed.

Aerieth Deventis |

Aerieth shakes her head at Bejis' inquiry: I cannot help you. I spent most of my life in the woods. Only the past few years have been spent in this poor excuse for civilization. And, I have not been one to be invited to noble houses.
Aerieth begins looking about: Not that we cannot search to see if there are any such weapons about.

Bingomite Ralorphus Tealeaf |

Fiddling with his spectacles in though the tiny gnome pauses. I suppose it's possible. This is the mayors house after all. I could be worth looking into. Besides we won't get another chance like this again.

Bloodless |

Back to the mansion. I am justuncertain whether we are going to sift the mansion for things we can use, which seems pretty unlikely at face value (how much Holy Water would they have? We also didn't find much of tactical value when poking around before) or do one or two of us sneak back to town and buy supplies and sneak back?
