I think it has to be the second option bloodless presented. Someone has to sneak out and buy some stuff, I think.

Female Elf Rogue 2/Wizard(Air Elementalist) 3 (HP 33/33; AC 14(18 w/Mage Armor), FF 14, T 18)

I have 5 doses of holy water Which I can give to Bejis and Bloodless. Teo and Bingo can memorize/cast CMW and Teo has CLW from her Healing hex. This might be enough to take down the Shadows, but it not, we might be in trouble.

The other option, as mentioned, is for two of us to sneak out and get something to make Bejis and Bloodless' weapons magicked up.

I am good with either plan.

Male Orc Expert 5

BEar in mind you entered the vault shortly after midnight with another 6 hours till dawn. Given the weather however its more likely that it wont be safe on the street until 8 hours have passed.

Male Human Barbarian 5

I doubt there will be shops open expecting customers. We'll have to scavenge something.

Male Orc Expert 5

You manage to make your way out of the mirror uneventfully, thankful to still here the music playing downstairs.

Female Halfling Copper Draconic Sorcerer 4 | HP 27/30| AC 16 | Saves: Str+0, Dex+3, Con+4, Int+0, Wis+0, Cha+6 | PasPercpt10 | Skills: Arcana+2, Deception+6, Persuasion+6, SleightofHand+5 | Init.+3 | SpellAttack+6 | SpellSave14

"Okay, are we going to pilfer a bit more around the house, or is someone going to try and sneak out?"

Male Gnome Oracle (Heavens) 4 AC 20/12/18 (+2 in urban terrain) / HP 26/26 /F +4 R +3 W +5/Init. +1/Perc. +11 (+5 at night)

Ah, perhaps we pilfer about first? Maybe the governor had some sort of family heirloom sword or what not? What do you think?

M Elf HP:33/33, AC:19/T:15/FF:14 - Percep: +10(LL Vis) F:+4/R:+9/W:+3 CMD: 20, Spd: 30ft, Init: +6 Rogue 4 (Pregen)

"We can have a look around again I suppose. Any such item would likely be in a master bedroom... I can't think this place would be flush with Holy water"

Female Elf Rogue 2/Wizard(Air Elementalist) 3 (HP 33/33; AC 14(18 w/Mage Armor), FF 14, T 18)

Don't forget, I have 5 vials of holy water. Not an endless supply, but some.

Still shaky from her near death experience, Aerieth nods in agreement.

Yes, lets see if there is anything to be found, even the simplest of magical weapons should affect those shadows.

Male Human Barbarian 5

"Don't magic items just jump out at you all?" Bejis motions to the spellcasters, "It doesn't sound like it would take much time to do a quick search."

Female Halfling Copper Draconic Sorcerer 4 | HP 27/30| AC 16 | Saves: Str+0, Dex+3, Con+4, Int+0, Wis+0, Cha+6 | PasPercpt10 | Skills: Arcana+2, Deception+6, Persuasion+6, SleightofHand+5 | Init.+3 | SpellAttack+6 | SpellSave14

"You all know the house better than Bingo and myself. Where have you checked and what is left to examine?"

Male Human Barbarian 5

"We only looked into a few bedrooms upstairs before we found the attic. You probably don't want to know what's going on downstairs..."

Male Gnome Oracle (Heavens) 4 AC 20/12/18 (+2 in urban terrain) / HP 26/26 /F +4 R +3 W +5/Init. +1/Perc. +11 (+5 at night)

Are you sure? Bingo chipperly pipes up. Shall I guess? We could make it a game?! Scratching his head and fidgeting slightly the gnome smiles showing far too many teeth.

Female Halfling Copper Draconic Sorcerer 4 | HP 27/30| AC 16 | Saves: Str+0, Dex+3, Con+4, Int+0, Wis+0, Cha+6 | PasPercpt10 | Skills: Arcana+2, Deception+6, Persuasion+6, SleightofHand+5 | Init.+3 | SpellAttack+6 | SpellSave14

"How about we finish off the upstairs bedrooms first? If that doesn't yield fruit, we can try to navigate rough what's going on downstairs..."

M Elf HP:33/33, AC:19/T:15/FF:14 - Percep: +10(LL Vis) F:+4/R:+9/W:+3 CMD: 20, Spd: 30ft, Init: +6 Rogue 4 (Pregen)

"Then lets make this a bit f a fast moving effort, sweep the upstairs rooms for anything obvious, stopping to sniff for magic at each door, and if nothing is easily seen nor detected, we simply move on. Should we find nothing, we will find a spot to lay low whilst a couple of us leave to resupply, and the others can make ready to let us back in when we return"

Male Orc Expert 5

Rigth so give me a plan of action here so we can do this fast.

My plan: If it looks like an open (non-restricted) room, one of the 'Cast' looks in and check that it's clear. Then someone with detect magic looks in long enough to see if anything glowing and weapon like is there. 2 teams might be possible.

Female Halfling Copper Draconic Sorcerer 4 | HP 27/30| AC 16 | Saves: Str+0, Dex+3, Con+4, Int+0, Wis+0, Cha+6 | PasPercpt10 | Skills: Arcana+2, Deception+6, Persuasion+6, SleightofHand+5 | Init.+3 | SpellAttack+6 | SpellSave14

I hadn't considered that, but two teams would probably be a good idea. I think so long as either I, Aerith, or Bingo are with either Bejis or Bloodless, both groups should have the ability to Detect Magic. A quick scan of all the bedrooms as Bejis described would be good for me.

Female Elf Rogue 2/Wizard(Air Elementalist) 3 (HP 33/33; AC 14(18 w/Mage Armor), FF 14, T 18)

Bloodless, our best actor, should go with Teo and Bingo who were not part of the troupe. Bejis and I are not the most charismatic, but are both part of the performance and should not raise as much suspicion.

Also, that way there is a caster with both groups.

Male Gnome Oracle (Heavens) 4 AC 20/12/18 (+2 in urban terrain) / HP 26/26 /F +4 R +3 W +5/Init. +1/Perc. +11 (+5 at night)

I would be happy to go along with you. The chipper gnome pipes up. I assure you, I can be quite helpful in the right social situations.

Male Orc Expert 5

So let me double check on the plan here.

Group splits in 2.

First group is Teo and Bingo go with Bloodless to sweep the second floor.

SEcond Group is Aerieth and Bejis and they tip toe through the first floor.

Right?

M Elf HP:33/33, AC:19/T:15/FF:14 - Percep: +10(LL Vis) F:+4/R:+9/W:+3 CMD: 20, Spd: 30ft, Init: +6 Rogue 4 (Pregen)

Sounds good.

Male Gnome Oracle (Heavens) 4 AC 20/12/18 (+2 in urban terrain) / HP 26/26 /F +4 R +3 W +5/Init. +1/Perc. +11 (+5 at night)

agreed

Lets do it!

Female Elf Rogue 2/Wizard(Air Elementalist) 3 (HP 33/33; AC 14(18 w/Mage Armor), FF 14, T 18)

Works for me.

Male Orc Expert 5

Right then let me dig up maptool and ill have a psot later today.

Male Orc Expert 5

Bejis Group:
Making your way downstairs it seems the music for the banquet has long since stopped but the "festivities" are still in full swing. Stepping over piles of soiled clothes, passed out, drugged out, and sexed out nobles you find yourselves in the banquet hall once more. Your group found little need nor desire to explore this part of the manor.

Map

Bloodless Group:
As Bejis and Aerieth strike out ahead you begin your sweep of the second floor. Already partially explord Bloodless catches the rest of you up on what's to be found here while discussing where to look next. In the back of your minds you always consider what to use against your insubstantial foes being well aware that much more dangerous ones may exist beyond those.

MAP

Female Halfling Copper Draconic Sorcerer 4 | HP 27/30| AC 16 | Saves: Str+0, Dex+3, Con+4, Int+0, Wis+0, Cha+6 | PasPercpt10 | Skills: Arcana+2, Deception+6, Persuasion+6, SleightofHand+5 | Init.+3 | SpellAttack+6 | SpellSave14

Bloodless group:

Spoiler:
"Do we want to take each door as we come to them? Aerieth can check to see if the door is locked, and then I can scan the room to see what sort of magical auras are present. Hopefully there's a ton," she adds nervously. If we don't find something on this floor, we will have to abandon this mission...

M Elf HP:33/33, AC:19/T:15/FF:14 - Percep: +10(LL Vis) F:+4/R:+9/W:+3 CMD: 20, Spd: 30ft, Init: +6 Rogue 4 (Pregen)

Bloodless group:
"We are looking for magic rather than anything else I suppose, so my bet would be to pause at each doorway and check if anything radiates in the room beyond. I don't think we will find much holy water in a place such as this. Were there any other bedrooms we may have missed? I didn't see the Mayors chamber"

Male Orc Expert 5

burmp?

Male Gnome Oracle (Heavens) 4 AC 20/12/18 (+2 in urban terrain) / HP 26/26 /F +4 R +3 W +5/Init. +1/Perc. +11 (+5 at night)

Do we know what rooms have not been looked over? I feel a bit in the dark right now.

Hrm, yes that's an excellent idea Bloodless. Bingo pauses, fiddling with his spectacles. Or perhaps there was an Armory or Ancestral thing-a-majig we could purloin.

Male Orc Expert 5

The shown up areas on the map for your group are places that the group has explored thus far. I think the doors are clear enough to make out on it. LEt me know if anythings not quite clear.

Male Human Barbarian 5

Bejis's Group:
Bejis will start looking for a path to somewhere where he think there might either be weapons on display. Either hallways, libraries, or some kind of den would sound good. Failing that, he'll scout what looks like the passage to the north.
I assume Aerith has detect magic running constantly, and would stop us if someone showed up.

Female Elf Rogue 2/Wizard(Air Elementalist) 3 (HP 33/33; AC 14(18 w/Mage Armor), FF 14, T 18)

Yup - I will be using detect magic to try to pick up on any magic auras.

Male Orc Expert 5

Let's just push thigns along. I'd like to try and end this book before august.

Bloodless's group:
Your first stop is a guest bath. Here you notice a few warm bodies curled around each other some even giving you passive delirious glances before returning to their steamy carnal activities. Pausing just a second to marvel at the indiscretion (no hole is safe) you move northward to find a fully stocked game room. Here are a couple of pool tables and tables stacked with board games. Three copies of pits and perils sits on one shelf.

The two rooms to the east are locked.

Let me know where you want to go from here. I'm doing this in increments

Bejis Group:

Aerieth finds it extremely difficult to scan for magic. This is mainly in part due to the entire mansion emitting its own strong to overwhelming auras. The infernal shadows that dance at the corners of her eyes when she recovers from the stunning effect does little to encourage her to keep doing it or to keep her sanity.

Moving northward through the orgiastic chaos of the dining hall you find yourself in a beautiful rose garden full of crimson red roses and rare flowers. In the center is a four inch deep pool of fresh smelling golden honey at least 20 foot long.

Let me know where you want to go from here. I'm doing this in increments.

Bejis's Group only Perception 20:
A closer look at the roses gives you a chilly feeling down your spine. The thorns drip with blood and you see maggots writhe and crawl among the petals.

Bloodless's Map
BEjis's Map

Female Elf Rogue 2/Wizard(Air Elementalist) 3 (HP 33/33; AC 14(18 w/Mage Armor), FF 14, T 18)

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19 <-- hopefully I will get an aid another from someone.

Not sure where Bejis is. I do not think that he has posted in several weeks, in this campaign or the one he is DMing.

Male Orc Expert 5

Great. WEll I'll give him a bit of time. In the meantime I can use reactions/directions.

Female Halfling Copper Draconic Sorcerer 4 | HP 27/30| AC 16 | Saves: Str+0, Dex+3, Con+4, Int+0, Wis+0, Cha+6 | PasPercpt10 | Skills: Arcana+2, Deception+6, Persuasion+6, SleightofHand+5 | Init.+3 | SpellAttack+6 | SpellSave14

Bloodless group

Spoiler:
Did anything in the bath ping as being magical? If not, I'm fine with moving on down the way and checking the game room. It'd seem to be a place to stash a little something. If nothing goes off there, we need to try and pick the lock to the closest room.

Male Orc Expert 5

Bloodless Group:
Nothign pings as magic in the game room.

Male Gnome Oracle (Heavens) 4 AC 20/12/18 (+2 in urban terrain) / HP 26/26 /F +4 R +3 W +5/Init. +1/Perc. +11 (+5 at night)

And me! OOC wise this is a tough situation and we are all hurting bad. It seems amazing that at level four there was only 1 magic weapon found and it was sold =/ Eh.. well thats what happens when you live in a police state I guess.

M Elf HP:33/33, AC:19/T:15/FF:14 - Percep: +10(LL Vis) F:+4/R:+9/W:+3 CMD: 20, Spd: 30ft, Init: +6 Rogue 4 (Pregen)

/Calm dulcet tones with the voice of angels and my best Oprah voice/

yeah this AP has not been very forthcoming with cash, I dunno about the rest but Bloodless is only on 2kgp (half of that still in coins saving for a weapon), which is around 1/3 of WBL - hence my earlier hard feelings about some of the encounters and wondering where the money went. Anyway yes it has pretty heavily impacted the availability of options, hence not rolling with the usual oils, alchemicals, and consumables I would normally take.

My personal feeling is that Tark wants to crack this book out and get-r-done, which frankly I don't see happening in the time frame suggested at this rate - w are in a lengthy room by room search of what looks like the Playboy Mansion, and going room by room, at a rate of a room or two every couple of days is going to take weeks in RL terms.

I appreciate that playing through and immersion should always be maintained, but this is one of those times where I really feel the best suggestion is that we just knock the search on the head, Tark lets two of us run into town and cash in Bloodless nest egg (weep) on Oils, holywater, and whatever other MacGuffin we think we need, and then let us pick up and resume ready to fight the shadows - call it a hotfix, call it a soft boot, but we have a time deadline, are apparently now missing a player, have been in an inactivity black hole for a while and it would be good to resume in a meaningful way, not just shuffling about the Heff pad

I'd be happy to make a bullet point jumpstart list if this is notionally agreeable

Male Gnome Oracle (Heavens) 4 AC 20/12/18 (+2 in urban terrain) / HP 26/26 /F +4 R +3 W +5/Init. +1/Perc. +11 (+5 at night)

Thats kinda what I was aiming for with my post bloodless. I made Bingo to be a team player, but this is a pretty rough situation for the group. Putting us up against shadows when we didn't have a way to kill them just makes it frustrating.

Male Human Barbarian 5

Can we aid another on Perception?

Spoiler:
Maps a bit hard to make out. Is there an exit west of the original room. If we don't find anything here, Bejis would move on, (once Aerieth is ready).

IT's really up to you guys if that's how you want to do it. Everyone in agreeance?

Female Elf Rogue 2/Wizard(Air Elementalist) 3 (HP 33/33; AC 14(18 w/Mage Armor), FF 14, T 18)

Works for me. I have 432gp that I can chip in. If we have enough to get a magic weapon - Greatsword +1 for Bejis or Bloodless preferably, that might be the best use of 2k gold.

M Elf HP:33/33, AC:19/T:15/FF:14 - Percep: +10(LL Vis) F:+4/R:+9/W:+3 CMD: 20, Spd: 30ft, Init: +6 Rogue 4 (Pregen)

I'm happy to whack up a proposal, but would involve buying Oils at 50 rather than a new weapon for 2300+ :)

Male Gnome Oracle (Heavens) 4 AC 20/12/18 (+2 in urban terrain) / HP 26/26 /F +4 R +3 W +5/Init. +1/Perc. +11 (+5 at night)

Tark, i'm not sure if you're willing to reveal this, but is the potential there for finding items to help us within the mansion? I fear we might search the whole place, find zilch and then be S.O.L. as people start to wake up from their drug induced revelry.

Male Orc Expert 5

Bejis: My fault I did not pull the fog of war back enough. There are exits to the west of the ball room but not the garde. There's also one to the south. Im going to say yes on perception checks made to search but not on more passive ones to spot hidden things.

Bingomite: There are thigns that can help you around here. Issue being is they tend to be fairly well hiddne in certain rooms. AS far as the shadows go the situation wiht them is much worse than you think. BEing able to effectively kill them will be a big help but tbh, this fight is a huge choke point for many groups so the thing to do might be jsut to clear a path and run past them if you can. As to the revelry they did mention that the MAyor's partes tend to last days which is developer speak for "take your time".

Male Orc Expert 5

ASto Bloodless basically laying out the procedure and just going as if you are enacting it absolutely do go for it if you want.
