Things I'd like to get in Haemil, and things to get rid off in turn, as nobody really uses them. Maybe the rest of you go take a moment to check your own personal gear lists and refresh or update them? Get rid of things you don't need--like torches :p--and so on.

Shopping List
Four sets of cold-weather clothing (Garidan, Grusorb, Niyut, and Truk-tosh);
Rations (people and critter both);
Holy water;
Alchemical goods;
Alchemy ingredients;
Traveler's any-tool;
Large tent (would give shelter to Tacal and two people, while the medium tent does two people, and one stands watch);
Bag of holding/handy haversack (either would be nice, more than one would be awesome!)
Miscellaneous expendable magic (potions, scrolls, minor wondrous items of varying sorts);
UMD-required magic items (not a lot left on that list, with wands and staves being different in this campaign, but still a few);
Masterwork tool for UMD checks (I'd see this a guidebook with common activation phrases and gestures, instructions to figure out the same based on what race or class made an item, and stuff like that).

Disposal list
Agile half-plate (heavy as all get out, nobody wears it or even can without penalty, ditch it!)
Light flail (Garidan doesn't need it with Weapon Versatility, would Gruskorb want it?);
Buckler (does Gruskorb or anyone else want it?);
Masterwork warhammer (thought about keeping it for Truk'tosh, if he needs a bludgeoning weapon at any point);
Dagger;
Two small tents (if we can get a large tent);
Everburning torch (we have two, don't really see a need for more than one)
Two light crossbows (nobody really uses these at all, and Truk'tosh will be throwing his axe about too, so I think one and the hand crossbow should be enough for contingencies);

Two sets of artisan's tools, masterwork blacksmith's tools, crowbar, hammer (all contingent on Garidan getting hold of an any-tool);

Assets
Two fancy elven rings;
Two emeralds;
Gruskorb's ghastly cannibal feast drinkingware (really want to ditch these, they still Garidan a start any time he happens across them while digging for other stuff in the supplies. Never did get a proper number or valuation on them, did we?).

Did anyone lay claim to the fancy hairpin that was suitable for use as a bonded item? I can't recall.

Uh, the traveler's any-tool is a (very) minor magic item that, by virtue of said magic, is counted as a masterwork tool for whatever use it is put to; there is no masterwork version of it.

If you meant that there is no any-tool at all available, that's a different matter. I'm going to go ahead and guess that the masterwork bit was in reference to the UMD skill aid I sought?

Potions: Now for potions, I'm personally in favor of x10 bog-standard CLW potions, split evenly among the lot of us.

Alchemical Goods: If nobody objects, I'm going to take care of this list getting filled with a 70/30 split between combat and utility stuff.

Alchemical Ingredients: Unless anyone else wants a portion of these, I'm good to split the value evenly with Niyut; she can get specific stuff for her rituals, while I'll go with either 1,000 gp of generic 'supplies' to make stuff with or 500 gp of generic stuff and a like amount of named items. That last is contingent on Valjoen being willing to throw together a list of such things, as I've noticed you like attaching background bits and game effects to anything you feel is worth hanging a name on.

Well, Truk'tosh is getting proper winter clothes anyway, so there :p!

And maybe one of our bandoliers, stuffed with a selection of useful things. I know Garidan is rapidly assuming the role of mundane utility monkey in the party to everyone else's spells and fancy tricks--and it's a role I welcome, mind you--but I really think everyone in the party could do with such a thing.

Maybe, instead of just handing out a bandolier preloaded, I could get requests for specific items you'd actually use? Like give Niyut pouches of dimmer dust and candlerods so she can have always have the light level she likes, smokesticks to add real obscurants in with her spells, maybe bags of tanglefoot she can lob at opposing casters, since she likes to sneak about and could possibly get close enough.

Truk cannot fail the base 15 survival check for cold weather. Endurance makes him a beast for Survival checks.

You meant Fortitude checks, I'm guessing. And yeah, that +4 is pretty nice, so the +5 from the gear might be superfluous. But honestly, has it ever been a problem to have one more bonus available to any check?

Splitting the potions makes sense.

I don't imagine anyone other than Garidan is thirsty for the alchemical goods. Garidan can probably take them all.

Haemil is one of the few places that has a significant store of supplies that survived the Shaping. I'd let you select any supplies/components from official Paizo resources, except poisons (they wouldn't be available in Haemil). However, I do reserve a veto privilege in case you ask for something obscure or over-powered that I'm not really familiar with.

Weight will depend on what you take, I suppose. I'm not going to be over-bearing when it comes to encumbrance on Tacal.

Hmmm, I thought that the list you presented up above was what Garidan scrounged up and exchanged the unwanted gear for (aside from the scroll and potions). Thus, all of that stuff is what the party ended up with upon leaving Haemil.

None, Niyut. It was traded only for the the stuff Garidan had listed for disposal. We still have the coins, rings, and gems (and Gruskorb's hideous cups...). Which kind of makes sense, since the other stuff is useful and the cash assets aren't these days.

And I'll update the tracking sheet in a bit, once I get some other stuff settled, like throwing together a list of alchemy goods and getting everything reweighed for tracking purposes.

Valjoen, would you be willing to go with a weight of 1 pound per 100 gp worth of alchemical ingredients (with a break of 0.5 pounds per 50 gp for smaller quantities/values)?

Also, in the inventory is an antidote kit. I'm guessing this item came from you, because PF has nothing. What is it, and what does it weigh? Does it have limited uses like a healer's kit, or doses, or what?

Same questions for the congealer spray.

Addendum to Haemil shopping list: trading Garidan's old chain shirt for a proper pack saddle and assorted critter gear for our long-suffering Tacal.

In addition to stats for antidote kit and congealer spray, need weight for Niyut's bowl and engraving tools, the mummification implements, Truk'tosh's mystery box, and quantity and weight for Gruskorb's goblets.

Aside from the above-mentioned items, however, the newly-updated inventory sheet is done! See what 5 or so hours and moderate OCD have wrought!

Thanks, I've updated the sheet. It looks so nice and neat and clean now, lol.

I'm assuming for now that Niyut wants to haul the bowl, tools, and her portion of the alchemical stuff in the party's supplies, and have them listed in various containers accordingly.

Note that the empty lines in the listing for second haversack are breaks seperating the three available compartments, because of their respective weight restrictions.

Also, I don't think this was ever clarified, but does Tacal use the aurochs or bison stat block? I've been assuming the latter ever since that link was added.

What I think happened on Truk's last turn:

1. Horse moves them out of the whirlwind (horse: move action 1)
2. Truk dismounts (half-orc move action 1)
3. Horse moves off further (horse move action 2)
4. Truk casts. (Standard action)

Am I confused about how all this works?

Book Keeping: Although the tab says that Gruskorb has two life essences he actually has three. He got his third from the priest of fire that Niyut killed. Gruskorb is just very bad at assigning his essences. He must truly despise free feats and stat boosts: :-p

The Life Essence will go to Truk'tosh as he only has two currently as I quietly seethe that I'm missing out on the life essence of one of my favorite monsters. ;-)

Everyone will get two Ethereal Essences.

I know how I will spend my two essences.

Both will go into the robe.

The first will be that ability that we discussed earlier on PM.

The robe functions as a Shawl of Shadowy Disguise: If you choose, creatures that see you while you are in dim light or darkness are unable to discern any but the most general information about your appearance or actions. For example, they can determine your general shape (such as humanoid), as well as the gist of your actions (such as, “She was trying to break into the store”), but cannot determine your precise actions, your appearance, or any identifying information about you. In bright light, your normal appearance is revealed.

Secondary Benefit: Shadow Caul (Su): While the robe is worn, a character treats any square she is in that is in darkness as if it were dim illumination for the purposes of spells and supernatural abilities. This ability does not activate in normal light, bright light, or supernatural darkness.

The second goes into making more mirror images as the primary effect:

"Mirror Image: I'm thinking an extra +2 images per essence with an increase in the maximum image by +2 as well." -- VJ GM for reference.

F!*~ this bucket of shit Paizo calls a messageboard. 30 minutes prepping this post in the course of looking up option, and one of Paizo's little page refresh errors wipes it all and dumps me at the main board page.

Hmm. Can't add new weapon abilities at this point, though an increase to +2 is possible.

Nothing among armor abilities catches my interest, though again, an increase to +2 could be made. However, there is spellscribed armor, which looks interesting. Obviously, there are questions.

  • How many essences would it take to grant Garidan's breastplate this feature?

  • How many more to do away with the costly requirements--and Craft Magic Arms and Armor feat--needed to add spells to the armor?[/list]

    Perhaps this last question could be balanced by one of the following:


    • Adding a spell requires little more than casting it upon the armor, but once added, it is permanent. Garidan can, subject to a successful UMD check, use it once per day;

    • Spells can be added, changed, or recharged by spending time and making skill checks. Weaker (low level spells) are naturally faster and easier, stronger spells more difficult and time-consuming.

    • Garidan must feed the armor an offering of his own flesh (hp damage) to induce it to accept new spells; fits well with the source of the essences. Can be further expanded to allow Garidan to feed slain spellcasting--whether by class or SLA--foes to the armor, upon which it gains--depending on the open spellscribe slots available at the time--a random selection of that foe's magical repetoire.

    Presumably, the spell's variable effects would be treated as if it were cast by a caster of Garidan's character level, using his Cha modifier for DCs? So to cast stronger spells, Garidan would need a minimum character level.

    If spellscribed armor isn't possible, then I'll feed one essence to Garidan for a +5 bonus to Random Skill: 1d4 ⇒ 1 (1: Bluff; 2: Intimidate; 3: Perception; 4: Stealth), and the other to 'Ruza for the Elemental Spell (lightning) metamgic feat; I'm assuming this would follow the particular rules for wands and metamagic feats--lesser metamagic rod, 1 essence per increased spell level.

    Garidan, I would encourage you not to disdain numeric bonuses. (Remember how we demonstrated that on average a +1 was better than impact on your sword?) Those bonuses to your sword make you more likely to hit obvious, but they also do double duty and provide you extra defense when you parry.

    Oh, I'm not disdaining them, by no means. But until recently, the bulk of his gained essences have gone to his rapier. And I'd really like to developing some of the other uses they offer.
