Grafire - I'll assume that's vs the dazed condition.
The grues telepathically burble "All this violence", "Must we have murders yet?", "The one who wields the dark!"
Hadarai compels with the power of the divine, as Akahale saunters in and proceeds to flaunt his eldritch might.

Flickr isn't working, annoyingly. In brief, Hadarai and Akahale are in melee with 4 and 5, and Grafire is in melee with 3.

Mandrake the Mad |

Manny shakes his head, his unkempt beard flying every which way. The elderly mage 'tsks' in annoyance.
"Stoopid Grues. They really need to Chill Out!" ANd he lowers his staff and orb, sending a pulse of coldly burning light towards the grue engaged in combat with his new friends.
Encounter power, Conduit of Ice. Dragon Breath (Ref) v Grues 4 and 5
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13 v Grue 4
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12 v Grue 5
Move in front of Manny and gain concealment
If either Grue makes an OA, Akahale will DSA them.
Dimly aware that remaining in the front line may not be good for his health, Akahale attempts to add to Manny's chill. Failing utterly, he struts away, defying the grues to hit him. Their chanting raises spectral images of thieves and pickpockets in his bemused mind.

Hadarai the Third |

If either grue does try to OA Akahale, they take 8hp and a -2 to hit him.
Head shaking from the mental assualt, Hadarai continues to try and keep the Grues' attention. He holds his ground in the icey corner of the room, using all his energy to strike at one of the grue.
Ardent Strike on Grue4 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (7) + 14 = 21 vs AC, if it hits he takes: 1d8 + 8 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 8 + 5 = 17 damage and he's Sanctioned(Marked)

So, if the ardent strike hits #4, they're both still marked.

Save vs dazed - 1d20 ⇒ 1

Mandrake the Mad |

FYI- I'm stoopid busy this weekend. Posting sporadic. Be back by Monday.
Manny leans his staff past Akahale's head. "Ah'm running out of tricks here!" He grumbles. "But I guess sometimes the old standbys are the best!"
He adds happily as he fires a blot of force into the Grue next to the wall.
MM on IV, 11 Dmg. Don't forget that both V & IV take 5 cold dmg if/when they end their turn in the zone! :)

Fabes DM |

You have to make 2 saves anyway, Grafire, so you've saved vs daze but not against the other effect. Your damage is 2d10 as well, so I'll rol lthat no (inc your boni). Akahale gets the +4 to AC.

Just in case anything hits
2d8 + 5 + 5 ⇒ (5, 7) + 5 + 5 = 22 to any that are hit.
If Grue 5 is hit, he takes 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10 curse damage. If not (likely) and Grue 3 is hit, he takes the extra damage.
Akahale ventures down the chamber and curses the last untouched grue before thumping his rod ineffectually on the ground.
"There is a grievous malfunction. I suspect these abominations of impeding my powers," he complains.

Hadarai the Third |

Trying to sound cheerful while gritting his teeth. "I'm fine. Got them right where I want them... Now, someone stop that foulspawn on the chain!" anyone have any pulling effects? Manny? Akahale? if we can get grue3 off the chain it will prevent a potentially big hit from that eyeball contraption -- that thing hurts.
In the meantime, I'm going to try and keep the focus of grue4 and 5...
Ardent Strike vs Grue4: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (8) + 14 = 22 vs AC, if it hits: 1d8 + 8 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 8 + 5 = 14 and IF it hits, that grue is sanctioned (marked)

Akahale reaches into a dark part of the universe and twists spirals of energy around the life force of the grues. One of them collapses in a twitching heap, a threat no more. Another screams mentally, "He who fights monsters..."

Eldritch Blast (Ref).

He waits expectantly for retaliation, doom in his whirling eyes.
If the grue makes an OA, it takes the DSA damage up the nose. If not, Akahale will stalk to the left and gain concealment, hopefully provoking an OA.
EDIT: That's a lot of damage. If Grue 3 goes down, Akahale will move to flank Grue 4 with Hadarai.

The grue facing Akahale sniggers and he hears it whisper in his mind, "Strike me down with all of your hatred, and your journey to the dark side will be complete..." It then collapses to the ground as dark energy wracks its form.
The dragonborn jogs to assist Hadarai with aplomb. The distraction provided by the whirly eyed loon is enough for the paladin to strike a killing blow.
Out of Combat. Hadarai and manny, please each make a saving throw.

Hadarai the Third |

Hadarai's past returns: his loved ones and family were turned by the darkness and tried to kill him,... so, he's probably a bit paranoid to similar happenings.
At the same time, Hadarai is trained in Insight -- does that buy him any knowledge of his friends (they did help him in the last fight afterall).
Was that a charm save I had to make? If so, Hadarai has his natural defenses against charm (+5). When I first rolled it, I assumed it was for the dazed effect, but now I wonder if it's something else that's feeding him strange thoughts.

Hadarai the Third |

@Fabes: Does my +5 vs Charm Effects help at all on my save?
Based on where everyone was at the end of the round...
Hadarai backs up to the enterance of the room. Shield raised, flaming sword at the ready. He purposefully keeps Manny behind him and the drongborne brothers in front of him, alone in the room.
"There is something wrong here."
lol, If I failed my save: "The brothers are acting strange..."
If I succeeded: "Something is trying to influence us...
"Have caution."

Mandrake the Mad |

Sorry guys, I haven't seen my PC in 2-3 days. My anniversary, then took my family to New Orleans to see SHREK-The Musical FOR my anniversary, (google it on Youtube, it's worth every penny I overpaid!) and got stuck in N.O till today. ;P
Do I need to save? I lost track[/oox]
[ooc]Save: 1d20 ⇒ 19
The elderly mage looks askance at Hadarai.
Hadarai:
"Strange? Of course their acting strange! Their dragonborn!" Manny snorts.
And yes, that's the pot calling the kettle black.
;)
The elderly mage joins the others in examining the diabolical device.
"Hmph. Ingenuity? More like lucky to me. I mean look at this! These levers shouldn't fit here, and the gears are all wrong, look,..."
And the mage begins messing with the device,...
