This also voids your warrante if you have Sony fix it. I love babies, you do dishes and the next minute you have a great big paperweight... HA~!

WOW! I hadn't known they had come out with a new version of X-Com!!

I was a Big fan of the franchise way back when and, interestingly enough, having no idea there was even Talk of a new version of the game, a few months ago I downloaded and started playing the Old ones all over again!

They're Still awesome!

But can't wait for the new one!!

The new one rocks, Its not as in depth in some aspects like X-Com Apocalypse but its definitely worth the money. :)

You've got it and played it already???

I've had it for about 3 months and beat it in 32 Hours >.>;

I LOVE RTS and with my all female team of 3 heavies, 1 assault, 1 support and 1 Sniper I rolled over the top of any encounter. If it was too big, then 3-6 rockets usually ended the threat or the heavy firepower of my heavies lol. My support was for flanking and capturing alien subjects alive. My sniper... felt many a recoil as she usually was perched high up. :) My assaulter was also a flanking/siege breaker, throwing herself through windows, kicking down doors and just running and gunning. :)

Coreue, Skyrim Dragonborn is awesome I advise you to get it.

I own Skyrim, Lizardmen Dragonslayer for the win, :) Their regeneration ability is BA! Also I own way too many houses in that game but one of them is full of gear lol!

I clear every dungeon out of everything sellable and then keep the good stuff and sell the stuff I don't want. Burned books, pottery you name it I grab it. xD

I sold over 3k of burned books to a merchant when I finally got the perks to be able to sell them to him for a profit xD 1 gold each but it was a profit!

I swear I could sell ice to an eskimo in that game. :) I did happen to run into the timejolting dragon priest on complete accident and took him down only because of a friendly group of imperials soldiers who happened to be camped nearby. :D

Anywho i am traveling, posts will be spotty as I will be back at work tonight and working until 6 am tomorrow. WOO NIGHTSHIFT :P

So how is this not cool?

Blood:

Fangs: On occasion, a dhampir may inherit his father’s lengthy canines. Whenever the dhampir makes a grapple combat maneuver check to damage an opponent, he can choose to bite his opponent, dealing 1d3 points of damage as if using a natural bite attack. As a standard action, the dhampir can bite a creature that is bound, helpless, paralyzed, or similarly unable to defend itself. This racial trait replaces the spell-like ability racial trait.

Blood Drinker
Consuming blood reinvigorates you. Prerequisite: Dhampir.
Benefit: Choose one humanoid subtype, such as “goblinoid” (this subtype cannot be “dhampir”). You have acquired a taste for the blood of creatures with this subtype. Whenever you drink fresh blood from such a creature, you gain 5 temporary hit points and a +1 bonus on checks and saves based on Constitution. The effects last 1 hour. If you feed multiple times, you continue to gain hit points to a maximum of 5 temporary hit points for every three Hit Dice you have, but the +1 bonus on Constitution- based skill checks and saving throws does not stack. Normally, you can only drink blood from an opponent who is helpless, grappled, paralyzed, pinned, unconscious, or similarly disabled. If you have a bite attack, you can drink blood automatically as part of your bite attack; otherwise, you must first cut your target by dealing 1 hit point of damage with a slashing or piercing weapon (though you may feed upon a creature with severe wounds or a bleed effect without cutting it first). Once you cut the target, you can drink from its wound as a standard action. Drinking blood deals 2 points of Constitution damage to the creature you feed upon.
The blood must come from a living creature of the specified humanoid subtype. It cannot come from a dead or summoned creature. Feeding on unwilling intelligent creatures is an evil act.

Blood Feaster
Consuming blood gives you superhuman strength.
Prerequisites: Blood Drinker, base attack bonus +6, dhampir.
Benefit: If you use your Blood Drinker feat to drain 4 or more points of Constitution from a living creature, you gain a +2 bonus on damage rolls and a +1 bonus on Strength-based skill checks. This bonus lasts for a number of rounds equal to 1/2 your Hit Dice.

Just can't figure out exactly how to set up for the bite....wish it was just a natural attack...

No worries about the time lapses, Cori. I've been dealing with RL BS since late Nov which also forced me to drop about half of my PbP games. It sucks but... yeah... it sucks.

To pass the time and keep things fun and moving on the board; I was wondering, how does everybody figured to advance their characters when the time comes?

Personally, I can't say for certain how I'd like to develop Cassian in future levels. I thought about aiming for the Duelist Prc but at this point, every Fighter feat I get from here to ~10 would be required to meet pre-req's to get the Aldori Dueling Sword to qualify. That doesn't seem like much fun, IMO.

My other thought was dipping into the Scholar 3PP class for the bardic knowledge, knowledge focus, skill points and saves. This, of course, would need to be approved by our gracious DM before it became a real option. For now it's just a thought.

All my other ideas seem to go against the image I have for the character. He's far from optimized but he serves a purpose and (most importantly) he's fun to write for.

Any suggestions, internet?

No worries, boss. Take your time and post something you can be proud of. Something along the lines of:

Final Fantasy VIII - Battle Theme wrote:
"CASSIAN REACHES LEVEL 5"

Or whatever floats your boat. ;-p

I'm going to post here and I'm going to start speeding up getting you guys together if thats okay with all of you.

I'm going to handwave the battle and make a few percentile rolls and determine the outcome and resources used. It's anticlimatic I know but it will help get us on track and moving due to my inability to get multiple going at once.

For Ael, Cassian:

Cassian: Your focusing on trying to take down the Alpha correct? And trying to make it to the Temples Core?

Cassian, you eventually notice an entity floating around the fight, she appears to look very much like the maiden made up of gears wiring and such that you saw in Mog's memory feedback. Could this be Sil and if you think it is are you going to ask for her help?

Make a short list of what you will/would like to do and I will at least get you upto the end of the current fight in an efficent and quick way.

Same goes for you Ael.

Bera and Steve appear to be holding their own mostly and are capable of holding against some of the oncoming Shaft Dwellers, so if you choose to help cassian take down the Alpha or stand and fight against the regular shaft dwellers to keep them off of Cassian while keeping them from possibly overwhelming Bera and Steve. The decision is yours.

Retreat is also an option for you two as well~ Just give me a list and we will go from their.

Tyrn

Go ahead and give me a list as well, I don't mean to short change you guys but remaining idle so long is making me feel like an a$$.

If you have questions you want to ask and if you want to make diplo checks to improve relations that is fine too.

In your list try and include who/or what your asking about and post a summary of actions for that day and we will go by a day for day format.

Tel-Ádon remains friendly and seems to enjoy your company as well. His bodyguard however remain annoyed and strangely aloof, while deflecting any attention they receive with a unusually cold shoulder.

The list of actions can include trying to contact allies inside and outside of Argos as well. So please don't hesitate too much and I will let you know what does/doesn't succeed.

As for Filandrius I will post what he comes up with once your ask him some more questions. ;)

The strange elves that continue to remain around you though mostly avoid you while your in contact with the Inquisitor. Talmarren doesn't appear for the rest of that day and Silandra, as stated before, remains oddly aloof. The multilegged metalic one doesn't appear today either...

Mir

Between you and the large formian you are able to pry open some of the doors and find what appear to be places where crafter's once resided. Although the rooms are filled with dust from an age of sitting hollow and unused, they are also well equipped with tools and strange clear canisters housing a red liquid. The Formian, who you discover is named Ant doesn't know much about the Cyrissian's or their craft. Only that they are very talented with metal creatures and were once very organized.

Other the the workshops you find one room containing a set of stairs that head both upwards and downwards, these two appear to have been unused for sometime and while most of it appears to be in good condition you can also see damaged steps as well. With your high level of acrobatic skill it will be an easy task to traverse them so long as they don't collapse beneath you...

The sounds you heard from the strange double doors at the end of the hall are a mixture of shrieks, screechs and the sound of metal cutting into flesh. Its obvious there is a battle going on and although youcan't identify who is fighting you know for a fact that the sounds are coming from above you. Perhaps on the next level...

Crosses The map is mostly ready and yopu can use it to depict your strategy and like above I am going to handwave the fight for now. As much as I know you want to test the class we shall do so at a later time. However please include your strategy and the various tactics you will use to try and succeed here. As stated before retreat is always an option.

Stormwin

As above you may post questions, possible actions and what you may try to convince Smitty to do. Whether you convince him to fly over the city again, break the cloud cover, see how the battle is going an and etc.

I understand that this may be confusing but for all of you just consider it free form at the moment. Don't get hung up on the current situation and we will progress on to the next stages and start the adventure forward again.

I'm putting the power in your court to give the game the push it needs and my posts may be long/short depending on how you proceed but we will make some headway I promise you that. After work today/tomorrow I will be dedicated to getting what posts I can out.

No worries bro.

Diy will definitely be convincing Smitty to head back towards the city and check out the battle. I don't think they actually got to get a look at the noble section, did they?

And, if she can, she'd also like to try and convince him to help the warship against the dragon. Basically she'd use lines and arguments like "you're not gonna just let that ^#$^#@$ dragon tear up your ship, not to mention you yourself, and get away with it, are you??"

But she won't press too hard on reengaging the dragon, knowing his ship is not really equipped for it.

She really does want to check on her Aunt though, or at least the area she's in. And I really can't see her being ok with going off salvaging while there's a battle going on that may well affect their entire home. She's a Warrior!

Cassian’s #1 goal is self-preservation. If the temple collapses he dies, obviously, so he’ll continue to fight until he makes it to the core.

Right now he’s engaged with the Alpha and is counting on Ael, Bera and Steven to keep the minions from suffocating him. If the fight were to turn sour enough to call for retreat, he’s brazen enough to attempt severing the lift cables to kill/confuse as many shaft dwellers as possible and rappel down to the next level alone or with the others.

When he sees the maiden he will call her Sil and tell her something along the lines of: “Mog requested I seek you out so that we can bring return stability to the temple’s core. Failure brings death; to us and to whatever salvageable teachings this place of knowledge and worship could grace our peoples with.” Of course nearly everything he's come across since being here has been disturbing and nightmarish but that's besides the point, haha. He will show her Mog’s talisman and the soul node to bolster his position if she's unenthused or apathetic to his plight.

If needed: Diplomacy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24

On the map where are we? But the general idea is to get up onto the boxes. Aurora is going to prepare some small object with darkness and let it fall down on top of them when the reach the space between us. Then I'll use an adhesive grenade to hold them in place and she'll drop the new grenades we found and hopefully blow them apart.....

Female Human Time Thief 6 [Current HP 37 Total HP 37, Init +5, Perception +9, AC 20/15/15]

I'm focussed on keeping foes off Cassian's back so that he can get to the alpha: if he seems to be in trouble I'll step in.

After that, improvise, flee, survive. I will warn Cassian about the creeping darkness.

O, I should mention I talked to Tryn. He'll be fumbling up off his lazy caboose and posting here soon. Else there will be Hell to pay...

Male Human, Cygnan

My apologies. I've been getting "reacquainted" with my computer and all of its delicious Skyrim-mods. But it already got old. So I can post again :) I'd hardly consider that lazy, as there's a lot of hiking involved in Skyrim. My legs are tired.

Tyrn feels very natural talking with Tal'Adon. Social situations are hardly an issue for him, regardless; a simple knowledge of the humanoid animal and its behaviors makes social encounters easy. Simply know what humanoids want. (you should let me use Handle Animal in place of Diplomacy when dealing with humanoids... just as a character trait ;))

I'm assuming Tal'Adon to be a scholar of sorts? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Their conversation is full of tangents and crossing thresholds into new ideas, mainly about forms of governance and what the potential futures could be from the current state of the known world. It was kept kind and objective, separate from personal impressions and strictly thought on empirical terms. It was a safe but good conversation. Regardless, Tyrn's true feelings toward Tal'Adon are hate, strictly because of his position. But there is no sense in holding one's position against one's humanity, for in most cases, they are separate entities. Tyrn was enjoying Tal'Adon as a humanoid. Business will be dealt with in time.

(This reminds me of that scene from Heat with Robert De Niro and Al Pacino. I need to give you that movie back, btw Cass).

The questions Tyrn would have asked somewhere during their conversation I will just list:

"So tell me about your heritage. As I've mentioned, a lot of my work is on the elves and other ancient civilizations. I'm sure your elven lineage is not that faint in your blood, considering your stretched generations. I envy the elven oxidation rate." I'm just asking about his family in all manners. Whether he has children, wife, parents, etc. But mostly I'd like to know about his ancestors. Does he stem from the old Imperium? What general knowledge has he acquired just about their civilizations in general?

"May I ask exactly what the role of Inquisitor entails? Is that a rank within a hierarchy or is it a title all on its own? I myself served in the Cygnan(?) navy. Eventually my skills lead me behind the scenes with intelligence, and I ended up becoming a diplomat of sorts. During that time, I also enlisted with privateers; you know, to keep in shape." Tyrn displays a sarcastic flex with a grin.

"I'm sure you've seen many lands during your service. I did most of my traveling after the military. I felt very... unidentified during this time. My soul needed a lot of exposure it seemed. I had this chronic goal of trying everything once as a means of self-improvement. I have to say, I've acquired a vast amount of arcane knowledge and the skills to adapt wherever I may be, so it's worked out in a way. How about you? Have you circled the globe yet, Inquisitor?" Tyrn smirks.

Tyrn also brings up the fact that Tal'Adon and his bodyguards have friction. "I've sensed some friction between you and your subordinates. You can divulge. My beard won't let any words escape."

Not sure how you want the convo to end so I'll leave that to you. Or if there's any information you want me to have, feel free to gimme! ;)

I'm going to do a Sense Motive check (just to see if his body language is saying anything different than his words) and a Diplomacy check for the convo to simply improve his disposition and gain more of his trust so that he may give me yummy intel. I expend a round of Arch. luck. I believe I have 6 more for the day.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25

The rest of the day's hoped actions:

After the convo, Tyrn makes his way back to Filandris to explain himself and also gather what other information he may have come across regarding the armor symbols. Not sure if I mentioned to him about the encounters. But I'll say now that I tell Filandris everything, even about the foretold assault happening in three days.

Once my business with Filly is settled, Tyrn's next objectives are to see what he can do about getting word out to allies. He wants to see what the quickest ways are to sending a message (he assumes magic means) so he would want to seek out people capable of doing that.

There John. You can stop nagging me now to post! ;)
