VC - Sydney, Australia

Yep, it's the next morning, dawn to be precise

Happy for you to assume Ailetha and Kabal were all in the one place if it makes it easier.. poor Karlan has to leg it

Female Changeling(Hulking) Bard/10 (HP: 82/82; AC27; FF23; T14; F+7, R+11, W+7; Perc: +11, Init +10)

Ailetha puts down her mug and sighs:
Figured we would have more time. Oh well, lets see what the Runelord worshippers are tossing at us this time.

First, she will cast Freedom of Motion on Kabal (duration 100 minutes).

Then, just before Celestra cast Teleport, Ailetha will cast Invisibility 10' radius.
All, stay together and we cannot be seen. If you attack someone, the invisibility will end for the attacker. If I attack, it will end for all of us.

Kabal, you should be very difficult to impede or grapple for a while.

VC - Sydney, Australia

Karlan makes a break across the distance (he needs another two rounds to catch you)

From the position they arrive at the party can see the walls still stand. The iron-reinforced oak timbers splinter and crack as the stones hit it, but so far, the gate holds. Militia frantically move wagons into place to help barricade and reinforce the gate.

The terrified guards up on the wall reports there are three giants (they think) around 200' up the road in the treeline lobbing boulders and moving in. Over the noise, you occasionally hear threats and profanities being yelled towards the town in broken common.

Male Human Paladin 10| AC 28 T 14 FF 26 | HP 99/99 | F +15 R +10 W +13 | Init +2| REACH

Karlan runs as best he's able calling orders adn encouragement to drown the panic.

Female Changeling(Hulking) Bard/10 (HP: 82/82; AC27; FF23; T14; F+7, R+11, W+7; Perc: +11, Init +10)

Ailetha looks to the others.
I may be able to confuse or entertain them so that you all can move in.

If we were not teleporting into danger, Ailetha would not have cast the Invisibility yet.

Sczarni

R6, R7, Karlan joins the group

the shouts from the walls is that the giants are moving closer - maybe 100', still suspected there are three outside the walls - the stones are crashing into the wall periodically, and the timbers are looking very sorry - they have moments before they crumble.

Female Human Rogue-Knife Master/10 (Init: +4)

Bree looks to Kabal, "Should we have Celestra take us outside the gate? Maybe we can move in on them from the other side or something?"

Female Aasimar Cleric 10 hp 81/83; AC 22, FF 19, T 14; Channel Energy (5d6) [8/10]; Touch of Good [8/9];Agile Feet [9/9];Holy Lance [1/1] Fort: +12, Reflex +10, Will +17; Init +3, Diplomacy +19, Perception +17

"Bree, my dear, I can teleport us only once per day. I cannot get us outside right now. However, the giants sound as if they are nearly through. Draw your weapons and let's prepare for the battle of our lives. I will give you Cayden Cailean's blessing of fervor, but I will wait until the last minute. Ailetha, do you have anything to help slow them down when they break though?"

Celestra casts wall of stone right by the section of the wall that appears to be breaking. She designs it as a small v shaped courtyard so that when they break through her wall of stone, they will hopefully be funneled to come though only one at a time.

"Let's move closer, we will meet them when they break through. Does anyone have caltrops to spread out and hurt their feet?"

Celestra rushes forward with the others to await them at the end of the v shaped wall of stone.

She will ready Blessing of Fervor.

Female Human Rogue-Knife Master/10 (Init: +4)

"Oh," She chews on her lip for a moment in thought. "Well, shouldn't we be doing something to keep them from getting through?"

Female Changeling(Hulking) Bard/10 (HP: 82/82; AC27; FF23; T14; F+7, R+11, W+7; Perc: +11, Init +10)

Ailetha looks to the other ladies.

I can get four of out there. Celesta, if you and Sable can fly, we can all get out there quick.

Dimension door - 400+40'/level (800' range). Also, can take self + 1/3 level (Karlan, Kabal, Bree and Ailetha).

I can make the four of us invisible, and then get us right next to one of the giants. I can only do it once, so we will have to get back ourselves. I do have the ability to make us all invisible a few times.

Proposed plan would be to cast Invisibility 10' radius (assuming it was not cast before), then Dimension Door to get the four of us out there.

Sczarni

The guards are calling 100' from the gate, what distance are you Dimension Dooring? - using the gate as a reference point

Female Changeling(Hulking) Bard/10 (HP: 82/82; AC27; FF23; T14; F+7, R+11, W+7; Perc: +11, Init +10)

If everyone, or most everyone, agrees, we will teleport (dimension door), invisibly, to 90' from the gate.

Female Human Rogue-Knife Master/10 (Init: +4)

I'm fine with that.

VC - Sydney, Australia

New map slide up

The party lands outside the walls, sans Sable.

They can immediately note the crashing of giants in the undergrowth and cheering from them - looking back the gates have just been cracked!

Three stone giants are advancing on the town.

Yellow pattern is invisibility area

Trees as marked, darker terrain is 'light undergrowth'

Terrain:

Trees The most important terrain element in a forest is the trees, obviously. A creature standing in the same square as a tree gains partial cover, which grants a +2 bonus to Armor Class and a +1 bonus on Reflex saves. The presence of a tree doesn't otherwise affect a creature's fighting space, because it's assumed that the creature is using the tree to its advantage when it can. The trunk of a typical tree has AC 4, hardness 5, and 150 hp. A DC 15 Climb check is sufficient to climb a tree.

Undergrowth Vines, roots, and short bushes cover much of the ground in a forest. A space covered with light undergrowth costs 2 squares of movement to move into, and provides concealment. Undergrowth increases the DC of Acrobatics and Stealth checks by 2 because the leaves and branches get in the way. Running and charging are impossible.

Not sure how you want to rule. Per RAW, the Dimension Door would be Ailetha's action, and everyone else (Kabal, Karlan and Bree) would have their action still. If it is the next round, Ailetha will cast Haste.

VC - Sydney, Australia

Yeah I had a look at that, but using some Scooby Do powers it was a better narrative just to kick off initiative from when you land. The Round timer has also reset as the preliminary events have now ended and we are at the next stage of the event

Celestra uses touch of good on herself and boldly steps forward and calls out to the stone giants and tries to talk reason with them.

"Stop, mighty giants of the stone! Why are you attacking Sandpoint?!! You have no need to attack the town. I urge you to stop or we will likely use force which would be most unfortunate! What is prompting such a reasonable race to attack?! You should enjoy your freedom, but not at the expense of others. Speak up and tell me what you need to be able to live in peace! VC - Sydney, Australia

Above you'll find a bunch perception checks to identify what squares they were in when they all started yelling, threatening, and casting :) The only ones who didn't make a heap of noise was yourself and Bree - so far they still don't know about Bree. I gave them a 50/50 to either go for you or chance an invisible target. They went the talking noise cluster on the road.

Female Changeling(Hulking) Bard/10 (HP: 82/82; AC27; FF23; T14; F+7, R+11, W+7; Perc: +11, Init +10)

I am confused on the rules for pinpointing an invisible creature. Is the DC20, or 40? There are a whole bunch of number in the RAW. Also, would a stealth check be applicable? Finally, you have one attack that seems to target Celestra, but then says that Ailetha was hit (I think that was copied from the first attack.

VC - Sydney, Australia

The DC is normally 40. casting a spell/talking drops this to 20 (Or yelling out continues lowering the number). In the case of Karlan and Celestra they were calling out to the Giants (and also casting) - hence all the perception checks and the in game warnings that they were now actively looking for you guys...

Correct the second giant was attacking Celestra
