Kabal smirked at Bree's comment but couldnt argue it. Ailetha's plan was sound and the brute rolled his shoulders and hefted his axe in preperation for the battle.

Celestra grips her rapier in her hand and quietly utters a prayer to Cayden Cailean.

"Cayden Cailean, I ask for your support as we take on two headed ettins, and vicious trolls that we may free the locals from the terror that lurks in their homeland. Grant us the courage to fight without fear and the strength to drive our blades home. I ask this now that I may thank you later with a toast of ale."

Celestra then casts bless upon her companions.

"I am ready now. We have Cayden Cailean's blessing!"

Sable whispers, "Dirty huge and tusked? With two-heads? Gods be kind and tell me Kabal doesn't have a mutant brother..." He smiles before realizing he is invisible. "Joking of course..."

Sczarni

There is no response from the cave ahead where the Ettin dwells...

Female Human Rogue-Knife Master/10 (Init: +4)

"Any other ideas or do we just go in there now and try not to die?"

Female Changeling(Hulking) Bard/10 (HP: 82/82; AC27; FF23; T14; F+7, R+11, W+7; Perc: +11, Init +10)

Ailetha shrugs, although nobody can see it.
We can move forward as a group, and then strike with surprise.

Female Human Rogue-Knife Master/10 (Init: +4)

"He probably wasn't the only one in there. Maybe someone could go in acting injured and lure the - what did you call it? Ettin into a chase when they run back out? It would be terrible to be boxed in my them."

Sczarni

Ailetha knows enough about Ettins to know they are generally solitary creatures, as they always have company on their shoulder.

Sable whispers, "We have the cloak of invisibility, why not use it and let us all press forward to engage this two-headed beast?"

Female Changeling(Hulking) Bard/10 (HP: 82/82; AC27; FF23; T14; F+7, R+11, W+7; Perc: +11, Init +10)

Ailetha nods in invisible agreement:
That is reasonable. The invisibility only extends a short distance. As long as I do not engage, all near me will remain invisible. So, stay close and keep hands on one another so that we all remain in the sphere of invisibility. When we are in position, I shall squeeze hands and Karlan and Kabal can attack from the front. Then, Bree Celestra and I can shift to provide flanking. With any luck, the multi-headed monstrosity will not be up long enough to raise a warning.

Sczarni

You will probably make noise... and you have light sources... just sayin' :p

Could you mark out where you are trying to line up at and marching order? Then we can figure out the way things play out :)

Female Changeling(Hulking) Bard/10 (HP: 82/82; AC27; FF23; T14; F+7, R+11, W+7; Perc: +11, Init +10)

Sort of missed how tight it was. Will let Kabal and/or Karlan add their insight since they will be doing the heavy hitting.

Female Changeling(Hulking) Bard/10 (HP: 82/82; AC27; FF23; T14; F+7, R+11, W+7; Perc: +11, Init +10)

Since Karlan has reach, probably Kabal and Ailetha in the front row with Karlan attacking from row 2. If Bree wants to try for sneak damage, she can hit first and then step back.

Male Human Paladin 10| AC 28 T 14 FF 26 | HP 99/99 | F +15 R +10 W +13 | Init +2| REACH

If I have to swing over your head I'm swinging over soft cover. Granted I don't know how that's affected given the size of the target.

Female Changeling(Hulking) Bard/10 (HP: 82/82; AC27; FF23; T14; F+7, R+11, W+7; Perc: +11, Init +10)

Then I can hang back. Just figured it was worth it to try to eventually get a Butterfly Sting to hit.

Female Human Rogue-Knife Master/10 (Init: +4)

Thinking it might be best for Bree to switch to her crossbow and stay out of the way, it doesn't do as much damage but with as tight as the area is her effectiveness with knives is crap.

Female Changeling(Hulking) Bard/10 (HP: 82/82; AC27; FF23; T14; F+7, R+11, W+7; Perc: +11, Init +10)

If Bree shoots first, it should count as a sneak attack if he is flatfooted.

Female Human Rogue-Knife Master/10 (Init: +4)

True, but it will be 5d4 since she has sneak stab as well. But I'm thinking it's unlikely he's flatfooted at this point.

Yep, which is why with my two attacks, I make one Feint (with Greater Feint) and then one regular attack, hoping for a crit (which I have on 15-20) to gift crits to the big boys. If I hit on both, then Kabal or Karlan gets a free crit, and it is denied its dex until my next turn.

Male Human Paladin 10| AC 28 T 14 FF 26 | HP 99/99 | F +15 R +10 W +13 | Init +2| REACH

[ooc]Alternatively, you and bree can sneak past under invisibility into the hall ahead. Than either myself or kabal can engage and run which will draw him out of his hole into the hall beyond. That will let you guys get into flank failry easily from the other side. How does that work?

Sczarni

OK who is making the call on the opening gambit?

Position your people where you think you want them when the event kicks off, that is assuming you dont change your mind and simply walk past under a cloak of invisibility :p

Female Human Rogue-Knife Master/10 (Init: +4)

I think Karlan's latest idea is the best so far, I'm going to position Bree following along with that. If the group changes up tactics in my absence, please move Bree to the new position.

Female Changeling(Hulking) Bard/10 (HP: 82/82; AC27; FF23; T14; F+7, R+11, W+7; Perc: +11, Init +10)

Sounds good. Karlan and Kabal, you are up.

"Bah! I'll bait the big baddy. Prepare yourselves."

The big man rolled his shoulders and sauntered over to the alcove entrance.

"Hey numnuts!"

Kabal punctuated his yell by thumping his chest and prattling on.

"Gods be damned, could you two be any uglier? You want some of this? Come and get it you sons of a hairless goat!"

Kabal will keep running his yap until the Ettin moves towards him. He'll then back step to his current map position allowing room for Karlan on his right.

Karlan calls out from around the corner.

Can Celestra move over to that spot just behind Kabal so KArlan can slide in there where you're at?

Sczarni

The creature was staring intently at Kabal, but the other voices coming out nowhere give it rise to caution, it hurls a javelin at him and then picks up its flail - the two heads peering into the darkness.

"Bah! It's too stupid to get it. We're gonna have to drag him out of there."

Impatient as ever, Kabal wasn't going to wait for this ettin any longer. He figured it needed prodding a bit so he strode in and swung his axe to get it's attention...[i]I'll probably get smashed against the cave wall for this...[/b]

"Hey bub. Whatcha say to this?"

Great Axe PA: 1d20 + 17 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 17 + 4 = 27

Sczarni

Correct, it is slow, but not totally silly enough to run into a bunch of mysterious voices from a position of 'saftey' - even rats have cunning :)

It screams semi-incoherent replies to Kabal, refusing, something about "bribes" and more about "Skulltakers" - it is yelling really loud...

It takes a swing as Kabal enters 1d20 ⇒ 3 but misses completely.

In turn he smashes it a fantastic hit, the thing looks twice as worried as a normal monster!

Ailetha speaks to the invisible Bree:
Move forward with me. You should be able to hit him before he can see you. I will then move next to the wall and attempt to set him up for the rest of you to beat on.

If Bree and Ailetha move together, Bree should get at least one poke while invisible, and, thus, get flanking. My intention is for the invisible Ailetha to then move to the small space against the wall and begin poking with her rapier.

Female Human Rogue-Knife Master/10 (Init: +4)

Headed out for the night. Posting from phone. Can't access the map atm. If Ailetha's plan is workable, Bree will go for it. If shifty permits, use the previous rolls. Otherwise, someone please roll for me. Ty.

Sczarni

For Ailetha to move up and into that northern corner she will still require an acrobatics check as she has to actually move through the Ettins squares - there is no clear path around it. Target is enemy CMD+5

Taking earlier rolls for Bree for expedience :)
Bree steps in and shanks the Ettin.

Once Bree has stabbed and, hopefully, given the ettin something to think about, Ailetha makes a flipping roll as she attempts to get past the ettin, not that anyone can see it since she is invisible.

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (7) + 18 = 25

Not sure if she can move and attack this round. She will attack if possible. Will roll once I know if she can. Although that probably just missed. Does she get any bonus for being invisible?

Sczarni

Sadly, Ailetha doesn't get through, returning her to the nearest legal square which is back behind Bree. Being invis just makes it harder for them to notice yu and get an AOO on the attempt.

Ailetha can't see a way through with the flails and blades all swinging around.

Still have a Standard action she can use - including for a second attempt.

That's ok, she has two more tries next round. If old two heads lasts that long.
