Female Changeling(Hulking) Bard/10 (HP: 82/82; AC27; FF23; T14; F+7, R+11, W+7; Perc: +11, Init +10)

To move things forward since we are a little short on posting recently, I say that the following is logical.

Kabal moved back 40' and is close to Sable.
Celestra moves 30' diagonally and then channeled to heal Kabal and Sable, who should be in range.
Karlan moved forward fly/charging toward the giants. When he got within range, so that Ailetha, Sable, Karlan, Celestra, and Kabal are all within range, Ailetha's prepared haste is cast. This will put Ailetha directly before Karlan for next round for init.

If anyone does not like this, please post. Not sure, but I would think that this would give Karlan an additional 30' of fly/movement for the round.

OOC:
I moved Kabal where I wanted him for this round already. Hence the 5' in ooc on last post. He's purposely between the giants and Bree and his other squishy comrades and there is no way he would move back before her or any of the others, excepting may be the other tank Karlan as he could take a hit or two. Kabal is unhurt and doesnt require healing. Now lets wreck these fools! And hopefully save Sable too.

Female Changeling(Hulking) Bard/10 (HP: 82/82; AC27; FF23; T14; F+7, R+11, W+7; Perc: +11, Init +10)

Ok, then I will cast Haste when Karlan arrives, and it will affect everyone except Kabal and Bree who are too far away.

Sczarni

Sounds reasonable, someone want to resolve Celestra and make the relevant rolls?

Female Changeling(Hulking) Bard/10 (HP: 82/82; AC27; FF23; T14; F+7, R+11, W+7; Perc: +11, Init +10)

Celestra
Continuing to hustle forward, Celestra makes it next to the fallen witch where she calls on her alcoholic patron to revive Sable. A glowing mug appears in her hand and as she pours the golden brew, which magically falls into his mouth, you can see many of the wounds caused by the giants close and heal.

Burn a Blessing of Fervor to cast Cure Critical Wounds on Sable
Healing: 4d8 + 10 ⇒ (7, 7, 4, 2) + 10 = 30

Realized that between her increase speed and mithral breastplate, Celestra could reach Sable with a normal move. Since Sable is the only one really injured, CCW is a better option.

Reflex: 1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 10 + 1 = 18 <-- +1 from Haste

With the increased speed of Ailetha's spell, Celestra is able to react to the burst of flame an instant earlier than she normally would, raising her shield to ward of a portion of the burst of flames.

Not that you need it Sable, but don't forget you have +1 on Reflex saves from haste.

Karlan is flying. I think that is what he meant by "above".

Sczarni

Yep, Karlan is flying around at the moment and has some sort of funky Angel thing going on. On his last move he was still flying onward and upward. Template was a bit wonky, have adjusted that back, but yeah the giant can catch the party in a fireball, Karlan is doubtful, everyone else in that area can be caught with an airburst

Bree up, then crazy Green giant.

Bree growls her frustration, whether from the blast or from being asked to back away from the fight no one can be sure. Nevertheless, she moves back drawing another dagger to replace the one she threw in the process.

A bit confused by the changes, from where she is now she would have retreated her full flight movement back towards the others. However, I can't select Bree without moving your blast range drawings, so I didn't actually move her.

Flight movement1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20

Sorry, crazy hectic week.

Sczarni

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Good catch, she would have been at height, so rather than do a 3d diagram and check I'll call benefit of doubt and she gets missed. Sable and Celestra are two of the higher value targets and were the main focus of the attack

I'll shift the overlay so you can move your icon

When that's done I can resolve Green, who is subject to the Random Dice gods

Deciding that keeping the casters from getting harmed is the key, Ailetha moves up next to Celestra and Sable, and then sings a brief song about the unseen. A moment later, Sable, Celestra, Ailetha, and Bree, who just happens to be in the area, all blink out of sight.

Move: Move next to Sable

Standard: Cast Invisibility 10' radius

Quietly: Stay close to me. Don't attack him directly and you will stay invisible.

--------

Celestra

Shifty - Would casting Dispel Magic break the invisibility? It seems that targeting the enemy would be considered an "attack", thereby breaking the spell. But, what if the target of the spell was specifically the fly spell that the giant is using? Then, she is not technically targeting the enemy, but rather the spell.

Was considering casting this this round, but since everyone is within 30', she will cast Blessing of Fervor.

Since everyone is close together, Celestra will cast Blessing of Fervor this round.

Standard: Cast Blessing of Fervor

Move: 5-foot step north to stay within 10' of Ailetha.

VC - Sydney, Australia

The Dispel appears to break the Invis - "The spell ends if the subject attacks any creature. For purposes of this spell, an attack includes any spell targeting a foe or whose area or effect includes a foe". based on that and the following dialogue, it seems like it would break.

Blessing of Fervor:

With this blessing, you call your allies to move forth and empower them to conquer and become victorious. Each round for the duration of this spell, each of your allies can choose one of the following bonuses for that round at the beginning of its turn (their choice).

Increase its speed by 30 feet.
Stand up as a swift action without provoking an attack of opportunity.
Make one extra attack as part of a full attack action, using its highest base attack bonus.
Gain a +2 bonus on attack rolls and a +2 dodge bonus to AC and Reflex saves.
Cast a single spell of 2nd level or lower as if it were an enlarged, extended, silent, or still spell.
These effects are not cumulative with similar effects, such as those provided by haste or a speed weapon, nor do they actually grant an extra action, so you can't use it to cast a second spell or otherwise take an extra action in the round. Blessing of fervor does not stack with haste.

Impatient and bridled with anger, Kabal set off after the giant that hadnt found a way to escape his wrath by flying out of reach.

VC - Sydney, Australia

Blue is flying, so I moved you to green, that should also leave you with a free attack to resolve :) Green wont get the AoO as he's off on his own planet thanks to Ailetha

Female Changeling(Hulking) Bard/10 (HP: 82/82; AC27; FF23; T14; F+7, R+11, W+7; Perc: +11, Init +10)

Only problem with attacking green is that the giant will attack back. It will effectively make the giant not confused. Technically, it will still be confused, but will be only attacking Kabal. Better option would be to use a bow and shoot at the flying giant, or ready an action to shoot the flying giant.

Also, if Kabal is closest to the green giant, and the giant rolls high, then it will attack Kabal instead of the blue giant.

I'm having trouble finding rule definitions for flanking when flying/height is involved. Bree is currently 15' and, would she need to raise to 25' in order to be flanking with Karlan if she moved into an appropriate flanking location?

Male Human Paladin 10| AC 28 T 14 FF 26 | HP 99/99 | F +15 R +10 W +13 | Init +2| REACH

Think three dimensionally.

Currently Karlan is literally right above the giant and hacking at his head.

You have to be in any of the squares directly below the giant and up enough that you can actually attack him to threaten to get into flanking.

Female Human Rogue-Knife Master/10 (Init: +4)

Gotcha, didn't realize he was directly above the giant that makes sense. Thanks.

Didn't want Bree's icon to disappear but she would be under the Giant to get the flank.

With the extra speed she felt she had from Celestra's prayers, Bree flew back into the fray getting into a position beneath the giant that Karlan hovered above.

Female Human Rogue-Knife Master/10 (Init: +4)

She was at 15' already, and there was enough movement for her to have gone up/down another 10' if it were necessary. With him begin 15' up from the ground too, she should be able to reach him.

We can move closer, or farther, but must move together.

I assume we would move as a group to stay within the 10' invisibility radius. Not sure how this works for RAW.

If it is ok with Shifty, and Sable and Celestra want to move, we can do so as a group, Ailetha will lead the blind Sable.

Sczarni

Moving as a group is the mechanically annoying part of the game, so a little creative licence is required. As long as you both have a clear path and make it clear that is what you are doing and it is physically possible yada yada then its ok by me

thing is, does Kabal know that? DM Ruling? seems meta unless its spoken out loud unless we fiat prior discussions about spell parameters.

Round 4

Celestra stays close to Ailetha as they move up, being sure to stay invisible. The priestess of Cayden Cailean readies a channel energy to selectively channel healing energy when she is able to get in range. The channel selectively avoids the two giants.

Standing in the midst of the battle, she sends healing energy bursting from her being spreading out and engulfing her companions with that wonderful waft of fine ale!

Channel Energy: 5d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 4, 4, 1) = 18

Celestra has the movement to get in range, but I am not sure if she can do that while staying with Ailetha to remain invisible. However, she will try if at all possible. I have not moved her on the map. I will trust she will be moved when Ailetha moves up.
