Joanna Whitehall |

Thanks. I hope you guys have a happy easter!

GM Zed |

Folks, what with the expedition in the piling, the social gathering and the subsequent chase / investigation, you have now reached Level 3 - please post in discussion the significant changes...
We'll just get past any interrogation of your prisoner and then we'll move things along to the Aspis Auction - and an attempt to secure the artifact you require to progress further...

Nalathi Estrid |

Sweet!
Changes: bard 1 -> bard 2 (+1 BAB, +1 Ref/Will saves, extra spells known, free Combat Casting feat)
Feat: Extra panache
Only real significant changes are her new spells, which won't surface now anyway.

Joanna Whitehall |

Paladin 3
Mercy: Shaken
Feat: Weapon versatility. Now Joanna can B,P, or S with a longsword. :D
Other stuff:
-She can channel. :)
-Everyone within 10ft. gets a +4 on saves against fear while she's conscious.
-+1 BAB and all that other good stuff.

Briana Kaddren |
Let's see...
Briana
Shaman 3
HP +7 (5 + 2 Con)
BAB +1
FORT +1
REF +1
Skill Points +5; 4 + FCB (Craft:Painting, Diplomacy, Kn. Nature, Kn. Nobility, Perception)
Feat - Extra Hex (Shaman - Entangling Curse)
2nd level spells - 2/day + 1 bonus
2nd level spirit magic - Barkskin
Rowenna
Familiar 3
HP +4
Int +1
Improved Evasion
Deliver Touch Spells
I think that covers all the major changes :)

Ziomarra Callinovo |

I'll work on leveling up Zee during my lunch hour today.
She'll get...
- 2nd-level Witch spells; can prepare 2/day. (Not yet decided which ones to add to her deck.)
- +1 to Fort & Ref saves
- 7 skill points [2 + 3 (Int) + 1 (human) + 1 (favored class)]
- Feat: Extra Hex (Misfortune)
- Cartomancer ability: Using the Deadly Dealer feat to throw cards from her spell deck grants the card the returning property.
- Cartomancer ability: Can use Deadly Dealer to target melee touch spells at range through a thrown card. The attack is resolved normally (i.e. vs. target's regular AC), and the card does the spell effect instead of damage. Any saving throws apply normally. The spell can be delivered by any thrown Harrow card, not just from her spell deck.

Teldon Moore |

i believe Teldon is fully updated now...
he gained:
- 6 hp [5+1 Con]
- +1 Fort
- +1 BAB
- 12 skill points [6+4 Int+1 human+1 FCB]- appraise, bluff, diplomacy, knowledge[arcana, history, nobility, religion], linguistics, perception, sense motive, spellcraft, use magic device
- feat- Additional Traits (student of philosophy, and inspired) these are social and faith, so there's no conflict with the campaign and combat traits i already had
- talent- expanded inspiration
- extracts- 1 additional 1st level extract/day; added touch of the sea to formulae book

Ziomarra Callinovo |

I am going out of town for the weekend and will be leaving tomorrow afternoon. I'll have my smartphone, but am not planning to bring my laptop. I may be able to get a short post or two in, but maybe not. I should be back to my regular posting schedule on Monday.

Teldon Moore |

i'm such an idiot. i always forget about stuff like that... i totally should have used a hero point for my diplomacy check... i guess it didn't matter much since i ended up with a really solid roll but that +8 would have been nice.
and now I can roll twice on a skill or ability check 1/day (from the inspired trait), so I can look forward to forgetting to use that too...

Joanna Whitehall |

He's not the only one. That was pretty funny though.

Teldon Moore |

Thanks. All carefully calculated to maximize the odds of maintaining the ruse long enough to get the amulet/key- based on Teldon's quick appraisal of the situation before Kyrot had a chance to be the one to point out that we were all using the wrong names, lol.

Joanna Whitehall |

Such as frying Joanna's brain? About the only thing that could have made it better is if I'd been playing Gkirkhan, who is the worst kind of skirt-chaser. :D

GM Zed |

Cool - good work everyone...hope it has been fun so far!!!
Interestingly, there are quite a number of Shattered Star games beyond 2,000 on these boards...all at different stages of the AP with quite different approaches; one dealt with the entire investigation around Magnimar - the Amazing Zograthy, the Sorcerer luring people to the abandoned Tavern and Fenster the Blight - in a single spoilered post!!!
Just the auction to get to / through and then we'll be diving into Feast of Ravenmoor - looking forward to it :)

Teldon Moore |

Me too... I really hope I'll be able to come back. Part of me keeps saying 'now that you've left the other games you could squeeze in one post here and there for just that one game' (which is so, so tempting) but I know I need to step away at least for a little while... This group/game is awesome though. I really, really hope I can come back before too long.
Maybe things will work out so I can just sit out Feast of Ravenmoor and then come back...

Joanna Whitehall |

I'm also looking forward to this. I've heard good things about Ravenmoor.
I've been enjoying this game immensely, and I hope that Teldon will be able to join back in soon!

Briana Kaddren |
I agree with Joanna! Also, many thanks to Teldon for going along with this minor subplot with Briana; I'd initially thought about her just being rather offended but given her personality and level of experience with men/romance (practically none), a little infatuation seemed more appropriate...and fun :D

Teldon Moore |

I love the little sub-plot, it gives me some room to explore a part of Teldon's personality that his awkwardness probably would have prevented from ever coming up otherwise.

Teldon Moore |

I'd like to have a little bit of room for a little RP between Teldon and Briana, if she has enough time for a couple of those posts... Other than that I have no objections to doing one post for stopping by heidmarch manor (where I think the lord and lady are indisposed) and shopping in the summit, and a second for our trip to the crow (plus however many Zee wants to do)... I think I might actually have some time this weekend where I could write the manor/shopping post and crow post if that's ok with everyone else?
GM- im assuming you're ok with us tracking down a half dozen or so potions/scrolls on short notice?
Briana- in the scenario I'm envisioning there's 2 good places for some RP, 1 before the major post and one after... Which is better for you (would you be more available to potentially make a couple quick posts tonight/tomorrow or over the weekend)?

GM Haladir |

On a completely unrelated note...
One of the players in my Rise of the Runelords game seems to have disappeared: he went silent on the 11th on all boards, including a campaign he'd been GMing, and he's not responding to PMs. We're giving him another week before we start actively recruiting for another player.
The existing players are all very good, and we've got a great party dynamic going. I'd kind of prefer to bring in a player I know so as not to rock the boat too much.
PM me if you're interested, and I'll let you know the details.
--GM Haladir (a.k.a. "Ziomarra")

Teldon Moore |

I seem to have missed the window of opportunity to get a few posts up tonight... Sorry about that. I'll post again right now with a little more and hopefully we can get a couple in tomorrow. I'm going to try to get the crow post up tomorrow night so that Zee and Briana can add their bits to it on Sunday and we'll be ready for the auction by Monday.

Teldon Moore |

I am enjoying the RP, but I also don't want to hog/hijack the thread... plus, it sounds like there may be some ongoing opportunities for it :-)
I have work in the morning but I'm going to aim for around noon or 1 (EDT) to get up the Crow post... That will leave some time for Briana to make another post in the summit if she wants, and hopefully for Zee to post her exploits in the lower city (and maybe even enough time leftover to make comments/responses to the crow write up before the tentatively scheduled auction time).

Teldon Moore |

Noooooooooo...
I just spent a ton of time on a long, well written post on the crow and my computer ate it with like 2 lines to go... I'm so disappointed...
Starting another one now but I'm not sure I have the heart (or time) for it to be quite as good as the lost one :(

Ziomarra Callinovo |

Ack! I hate that! It happens to me particularly often when I'm posting from my phone.
If I can remember to, I try to write long posts in a text editor, and then copy-and-paste it into the messageboard.
Also: Sorry for another post-free weekend from me. I had to go out of town unexpectedly, and found that there was very limited service from my cell carrier: one bar of voice and no data!

Teldon Moore |

I just want to make sure I understand exactly what's going on in the auction... Based on the estimates in his notes (and math), is he expecting me to only secure that mirror for him, or basically make sure I get the mirror but also try to secure other interesting pieces if they're going below value? Also, we never really saw a value for the statue... Based on my best appraisal, do we have a little wiggle room where I could potentially pick up a few undervalued items (mostly just to further add credibility to our cover) or do we really need to save our money for the amulet?
appraise: 1d20 + 8 + 1d6 ⇒ (18) + 8 + (4) = 30
appraise: 1d20 + 8 + 1d6 ⇒ (10) + 8 + (2) = 20
