Next level up I'm adding a Paladin level for immunitites and what not. I'll get 1 mercy as well. What condition would the team like me to be able to remove: Fatigued, Shaken, or Sickened?

Mik PZ |

*gurp* Right now would suggest sickened as Mik pukes on Griff in his fly by splatter attack. Looking at the three and metagaming, seems Sickened is the worse of the three but Shaken is about the same. Fatigued has less of an impact so would not suggest it, if metagaming.
I think it more depends on what we encounter in the future and what best fits Cain. That is my guiding star with Mik, picking what fits his personality. Difficult to see. Always in motion is the future...

Griff Olar |

@Vesuvias; Welcome Welcome Welcome, we here at the house of discussion/planing have many varied ideas, morals, attitude, and most importantly a Sense of Humor. Please feel free to bring more of the same, or something different and our cup will runith over with joy. One request, if and/or when you explode please aim the fallout at Mik, he's only 2/3 Elf any way(I know it isn't spelled the same but I thought it was funny).
@ Cain; In deference to Mik's and... um Cains inability to make a save(2 ones in a row that sucked... in a bad way) the duration of sickened, an shaken is fairly low in comparison to Fatigued. Shaken an Sikened will usually end in rounds, or minutes(unless a certain 1/2 orc drinks too much) and for fatigued to go away it requires 8hr's of rest. I do defer to Mik in the fact that look to your charecter WWCD (What would Cain Do)? 8D

Gimble, The Storyteller |

I was reading up on Web again, and I realize I misread the spell. Apparently, the Web provides cover, not concealment. I'll continue to run this encounter as I have, making the Web concealment instead of cover, but in the future I'll do it right. Sorry about that.

Gimble, The Storyteller |

On a successful attack with a silvered slashing or piercing weapon, the wielder takes a –1 penalty on the damage roll (with a minimum of 1 point of damage).
On Alchemical Silver Longsword with Mik's modifiers:
1d7+3 has a range of 4-10 points of damage.
1d8+3-1 has a range of 3-10 points of damage.
I know it's not much, and would probably never be a factor, but then again . . .

Mik PZ |

I interpret it as min 1 weapon damage. All bonuses then get applied after the min 1 rule is applied. Your interpretation says the min damage of a non-magical silver weapon is the same as a +1 silver weapon where both have min damage of 1.

Gimble, The Storyteller |

So far what I've found is that the -1 penalty is to the entire Damage Roll. Pathfinder is different than 3.5 in that if you roll 0 or negative damage you normally don't automatically deal 1 point of damage, you instead deal 1 point of non lethal damage. A couple of the forums I've looked at has agreed with my interpretation. I would like others to way in on the subject so we can get it right.
For now, roll the entire damage and subtract 1.
Yes, with no bonuses attached, a +1 silver weapon has a minimum damage of 1, but only on the roll of a 1. A non magical silver weapon, again with no bonuses, has a minimum damage of 1 on both rolls of 1 and 2.
Non-magical Silver Longsword damage range: 1-7.
+1 Silver longsword damage range: 1-8.

Griff Olar |

In the combat section;
Minimum Damage
If penalties reduce the damage result to less than 1, a hit still deals 1 point of nonlethal damage.
Coop thoughts:
I'm pretty sure that this rule is in effect so that a common house cat can't kill its owner.
I think we should use the full 1d8-1. because 1d7 wont give you the result of 1 non-lethal damage. this is also taking into account that if a creature or player gets a strength penalty, it is better reflected with the "-".
example= A Dwarf with a 5 str has a -3 to damage. if he stabs someone with a dagger (1d4) He doesn't do 1 damage, he does 1d4-3. A 0 to -2 result = 1 non-lethal damage.

Cerberus Cain |

Off topic, sorry folkes. Eric, thanks for the help. The google doc for PFS worked. I'm leaning towards a Rob Roy kind of character. A single dip into Swash & Gun and then Savage Technologist straight through. May even be Human for once. Your efforts are much appreciated.

Gimble, The Storyteller |

Nice. Sounds good. Let me know when you guys are ready.
Matt, I didn't hear back from you, but I'm going to start a PFS scenario if you are interested in creating a character.
Vesuvias, I'm going to be running Confirmation then Crypt of Everflame PbP if you're interested in joining.
I'd like to get started in the next week or so. As soon as everyone is ready we'll get started.

Griff Olar |

Yes Yes Yes, pleeese. Sorry about not responding , my 2 roommates just moved out, and my 2 new roommates just moved in, and there has been some other hectic stuff. I will get rite on creating a toon, but I'll probably need someone to double check my work. I should have something by monday.

Cerberus Cain |

Well damn. You were briefly met but will be missed. Thank you for spending some time with us. I hope you may return when things are less hectic for you. As Mik said, life indeed comes first. Good luck with your endeavors.

Cerberus Cain |

Hey Coop, I'm planning on starting as a Swasher as well, but it's just a dip. I decided on a sword and pistol, dirty, cursing, borderline alcoholic, reluctant paladin with the Chosen One archetype. He carries his conscience around on his shoulder. It's funny, for once all I want is to play the character's concept without bothering much about optimization. There are good odds he will die as he has str and con of 8 due to his poor life choices, but if he makes it to level 6 he should come on line pretty well.
He's not done but what I have is in my aliases if anybody want to take a look.
Paul, I'm kinda hoping you go with your crossbowman idea. I think it'd be kinda cool to have a low magic group and see if we can keep it together.

Eric Sklavos |

I'll update a bit later today as the house is slowly coming back to life.
Let me know when all 3 of you have ready characters for PFS and I'll open the recruitment thread to fill the table. It should be pretty easy to fill. The scenarios are usually made for 6 players.
Also, if you're interested, the Paizo special they are running through Humble Bundle is a great deal if you need or want PDF versions of the books. I spent $18 and got about $300 worth of books on PDF.

Mik PZ |

I have a crossbowman for ranged and a little front line. He is a one trick pony, doing massive damage with XBow at higher levels. I also have a pacifist Life Oracle for healing who can also soak up damage, focused on nonlethal. In addition, am mostly done with a blood thirsty Metal Oracle for front line damage and healing. I've been exploring the magus class and can easily go that route if we want arcane and rogues are always fun for me, if we want the sneaky thief angle added to the mix.

Gimble, The Storyteller |

I'll post either tonight after I get home from work or first thing tomorrow morning.
I see that both Paul and Matt have characters up and ready with PFS profiles filled in. Benny, let me know when you are ready to go and I'll start the discussion and recruitment threads for the first PFS Scenario.

Cerberus Cain |

I'm going to have you guys ahead on this without me. I've been having trouble finding time recently and will be gone Sunday-Saturday quite possibly without reliable internet access and I don't want things delayed further on my behalf. Have fun guys. I will do my best to post up here for Serpent Skull, but I'll be on vacation and I'm not certain of the quality of Mexico's wi-fi. Good luck godspeed.

Eric Sklavos |

Pepsininja |

@Cerberus= I'm glad you made it back, and hope it was much fun.
Now about me/Griff. I am looking for player/GM feedback on what spells I should get. At 11th level I am changing my favored class bonus from +1 skill point to the Human favored class bonus (Add one spell from the wizard spell list to the wizard's spellbook. This spell must be at least one level below the highest spell level he can cast.) Which means I get 2 6th, and 1 5th or lower one of the 6th must be conjuration spell. My thoughts are.
6th
Conjuration; Summon monsterVI, Chains of light.
others;Analyze Dweomer, Legend Lore, True Seeing, Chain Lightning, Cold Ice Strike, Contingency, Freezing Sphere, Disintegrate,
5th or lower too many to number.
Thoughts please :)

Mik PZ |

Aloha, Bennie. Sorely missed, indeed. Welcome back and hope your trip was exciting, pleasant and memorable. I hope you are so worn out from travelling that it takes a full week to recover. What did ya get me? Ha.
@Matt:
Conjure Black Pudding would add all kinds of confusion but might not be the best first choice. Ha.
Getaway would be a nice fail safe.
Ice Crystal Teleport may be useful for capturing someone as long as they fail a Will Save.
Like playing dangerous games with devils, demons and other outsiders? Then Planar Binding is for you. Not sure how beneficial it will be for our group but I'm sure it will have it's moments.
Summon Monster VI has dinosaurs and reminds me of the previous encounter where summoned dinosaurs made it rather unbalanced. Otherwise, would be helpful to have a front line creature to augment Cain.
Wall of Iron is great for containing or splitting forces but think you have that at a lower level version.
Chains of Light would also be good for containing bad guys, especially those that like to shift in and out of existence.
Summon Vanth would be a good front line fighter and wouldn't have the dinosaur side affect.
Whip of Ants seems to fit Griff's S&M characteristics. :D The spell says the swarm has Distraction and Poison but could not find any clarification on the poison. Since it is similar to the Whip of Spiders, I think it is a misprint. Prob should get clarification if is a spell you want. The devouring of a helpless or nauseated creature is cool (and rather creepy) but pretty conditional.
Those are my thoughts. Don't forget to level up everyone. Matt, is your list of spells in your spell book up to date? Mik would like to borrow to copy some spells. We might also want to go shopping to sell some loot and upgrade our equipment. I will try to gather a list of stuff for sale. Mik will likely take a cloak and some potions and some other stuff as well.

Griff Olar |

Thanks Mik. Yes My spell book is up to date except for the new spells when I level, but you can't cast those yet . I have a more condensed loot list and sell prices on my character sheet everyone make a list of what you want to keep and I'll subtract the cost from the total, and then divide it up. there are 3 lists, for 3 different party makeups and when we got the Loot. I think we should sell the Staff of Necromancy, I can charge it now, but not sure how usefull it'llbe in the future, thoughts.not sure if we should sell the rod of well deserved rest , thoughts?
Gimble, Are we going to be allowed to sell or use Goro's gear? or are ou worried about us having too much loot?Griff just doesn't want someone in 30 or more years to digg him up and be rich, and we could use the gear to help our quest. I'd like other player thoughts on it as well.

Cerberus Cain |

Is there anything that can be done to ensure the security of the grave? It seems a bit wrong to sell his stuff. Or maybe we could each select a piece as a kind of carry it in his honor sort of way.

Well to start we could get him a led lined cofin, that would stop most detection spells. In Griff's spare time he could cast wall of stone around it (totally encapsulating it) about a dozen times. then create a portal to a Celestial plane where fallen heros are protecting it for all time. that last part is a bit beyond me at the moment.
option 2 we pack him in a box, and ship him off tohis family. Whatever and wherever they are.
option 3 drop him into a volcano. his name isn't joe but it's close enough.
there are more options.

Gimble, The Storyteller |

I'd like to run something while I'm out in California in 2 weeks. I was thinking of doing something easy and fun, that doesn't take much prep like We Be Goblins! and We Be Goblins Too! These quick modules use pregen characters so there's no need to roll anything up and we can just play. I've played both of these modules and they are a blast. Let me know if you're interested. Probably the only weekend day I'd be able to do it would be Saturday, April 2nd in the morning.
We'll continue this campaign's next day with everyone leveled early next week. I need to prep Kieyanna, and it's been quite a busy week.

Griff Olar |

I would love to play goblins, let me know what time, and where.
Griff's level up
