322 curses in a dark, shifting tongue as she casts the spell on the scroll in her hand and lunges forward, blade in the other hand, before pressing her palm into Zey.
Cast, move free touch attack. Drawing mwk dagger as she moves. Staying elevated for +1 to attack. Spell is slay living, which I've had in hand for a while now. Also burning her earlier Guidance
Touch Attack: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 8 + 1 = 27
Damage: 12d6 + 9 ⇒ (2, 1, 2, 6, 6, 4, 4, 4, 2, 5, 6, 4) + 9 = 55
Damage with DC 17 Fort Save: 3d6 + 9 ⇒ (2, 3, 3) + 9 = 17
Edit: Forgot caster level check. Fail on a 1.
CL Check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

Qwerty, just to be sure have you counted in the 14 hps I gave Marnarius from bear's endurance?
Reflex: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
-3 hps
I have a potion of CSW on my belt, but I think 322 may have jus ended this.

322 reaches out with a hand wreathed in dark fire touching Zey's chest. He seems to resist the attack briefly, before falling to the ground with a dull thud.
Fort Save: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21

Three Twenty-Two |

Are we up again? If we are, I'm CDG-ing.
322, a manic look upon her face, plunges her dagger into Zey's chest.
Critical Dagger: 2d4 + 4 ⇒ (1, 4) + 4 = 9
That was embarassing to type out.
In my excitement I forgot that the lantern doesn't automatically function. Can I edit to instead draw it out and open it?

![]() |

You're functionally out of initiative now, sans the few remaining Reflex saves and stabilizing.
322 pulls out a mysterious looking lantern before plunging her dagger into Zey's heart. His soul visibly tears from his body and is sucked into the lantern, which begins glowing faintly. The lifeless body of the Pathfinder Society leader remains, his soul captured to prevent his return from the afterlife.
The Sky Key sits unattended on a pedestal in the center of the room. One or more of the elite Aspis agents have fallen in the foray to lay claim to it, but the mission has been successful. Zey is slain, the Hao Jin Tapestry is open, the Sky Key is your's for the taking.

Choon's Pregen |

Zurnzal returns to the ground floor and checks the leader for signs of life. It is soon clear that their leader has been slain, so he moves over to the artist and retrieves the potion of healing from her belt. He carefully rotates her small head and pours the magic liquid down her throat.
From there he moves on to Marnarius and uses his own potion of cure moderate wounds on him.
CMW: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (3, 7) + 3 = 13
Add he works, he says to 322, Hey. Inspect the Key. I don't want to trigger any wards they may have set on the thing.

Three Twenty-Two |

322 draws her scroll of heal, flies down to the lower floor, and casts it on Marnarius if he yet lives.
His con is boosted after all, and he should have healed more than 2d6 off the CMW potion. If not, then she casts on Joliryn
"You assume much if you think I know how to search for such," she says, replying to the green one. "At most I can tell you how many magical auras are on the thing, and maybe the school and power. But first..."
She flies back up, draws an ornate trumpet from her pack, and presses it to Zey's lips.
"If there are answers to be had in a spiritless form, then give them, Aram Zey. How have you warded the sky key? What treasures, whether magical or academic, have you secreted away in this room?"
With a sneer she asks her third. "When I drifted off to sleep last night, I dreamed that I would kill you. Did you dream that you would die?"
Regardless of how the corpse answers, she addresses the green dragon. "Gazwyr, go eat Zey. Tell me how the flesh tastes when the soul's been ripped out."

It's unclear whether lacking a soul would allow Zey's corspe to answer, but I'll say it does. Also not sure if Gazwyr survived that fire snake.
"How have you warded the sky key?"
The trumpet pressed to his lips forces sound from the lifeless body of Zey, "Myself."
"What treasures, whether magical or academic, have you secreted away in this room?"
"Myself."
"When I drifted off to sleep last night, I dreamed that I would kill you. Did you dream that you would die?"
"All men must die."

Qwerty's Pregen |

he was at 1 hp after the chain lightning attack, then +14 then +19, which did not put him over 41 hp (max would have been 34). then he failed the save and took the whole damage of the fire attack. it happens. I am sure Rataji is weeping.

The Sky Key rests in a simple glass enclosure. When glass is removed, you notice the clock in the room begin to tick erratically. It seems that time fluctuates strangely around the Sky Key, but this is of no further consequence to you.
322, Joliryn, Zurnzal, and maybe Gazwyr escape with their lives carrying their fallen comrades, the Sky Key, a lantern containing the soul of Aram Zey, and the loot you find on his body. As you begin making your way out of Skyreach, you are approached by a team of agents, the leader of whom flashes you a silver Aspis badge and says,"Nicely done, despite your losses. I figured we'd be late to the party, but it's still five fingers till Oathday." - the pass phrase to signal turning over the Sky Key.
With the handoff complete, you are able to slip out of Skyreach unnoticed in the chaos of wyvarans, yetis, extraplanar humans, magical beasts, and even an animated statue wreaking havoc on the oppressive Pathfinders and their Grand Lodge. As you slip back into Absalom, you look back to see that the northwest tower of Skyreach has begun floating in an orbit around the campus.
The Aspis Consortium is more than willing to raise dead the fallen members of its strike team that stole the soul of Aram Zey, for a small price of course. Selling pre-gen equipment covers this, and doesn't cost anything. The Pathfinders are able to regain control of the Grand Lodge and the Sky Key eventually, but they've lost access to the Hao Jin Tapestry and are without a Master of Scrolls.
In the weeks following the mission, each of you receives a missive from your respective contact congratulating you on a job well done. You have played a key role in ending an era of Pathfinder Society aggression and heralded a new age of Aspis Consortium dominance. You will be compensated for your efforts and have more jobs in the coming months.

Huh. Ulterior motives for participating in the raid... I probably should have probed actively, but I thought I would be able to figure it out through observation.
Marnarius- Free the companions he left behind in the Tapestry / Revenge for previous imprisonment.
322- Capture Aram Zey's soul.
Zurnzal - Spread paranoia by framing a Pathfinder to cause them to waste resources on internal security?
Rataji - No Clue. I didn't pick up on anything aside from the direct mission.
Shohiraj - Seemed keen to frame a Pathfinder assistant to Aram Zey. Her name was Janira Gavix.

Marnarius was to unlock 3 menagerie cages and recover a weapon from the room with the foo lizards, both of which he did gaining 2PP.
322 was to install a particular device on a large statue and trap the soul of Aram Zey, both of which she did gaining 2 PP.
Zurnzal was to abduct a well-known Pathfinder to disguise himself as and frame, by then making a disguise check against a patrol within Skyreach. Unfortunately, no Pathfinder was abducted to be blamed, so Zurnzal receives 1 PP.
Rataji was to provide the mission briefing at the beginning, ensure the tapestry allies cooperated and complete the primary mission, so Rataji receives 2 PP.
Shohiraj was to obtain the key from Janira Gavix and make sure you avoided notice at various times, which she did enough to receive 2 PP.
Joliryn needed to recover the intel at the Wall of Names and correctly identify a secondary condition from each other teammate. She did obtain the intel and is correct on 322, Zurnzal, Rataji, and I'm going to say close enough on Marnarius and Shohiraj to get 2 PP.

Delayed reflex or death!: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Death of a dragon!
