Reflex Save: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
Clarius runs at a full sprint across the not-quite-fully-there floor of the new building. He is a dark greenish blur; planks fall to the places he once stood only after he's moved several feet past that point. There is not even a chance of them touching the rogue.

You do find several of your personal belongings that Mira has 'acquired'.
You also find the scroll case (with its seal still intact) that contains the item you intend to deliver.
Alexander removes his disguise He was disguised as the Hawk-faced woman, and says "I don't know how they managed to know I was meeting you. But, other than members of the L... Ummm, of my brotherhood, and your... patron organization, I feel we may not be able to trust anyone in Eagle's Head."
Grunyer Hearthkeeper
"Look pal, we were tasked to deliver this." Grunyer grabs the scroll case waggles it. "It isn't our concern what groups want what unless they get in our way. We're together now and you know where this is going. So please lead the way. We'll do our jobs and protect our charge." Ignoring the nagging feeling that he's being overconfident, Grunyer tosses the scroll case back to Arc and readies his shield to move on.

To the team, "We got our things back and some of hers besides." Addressing Mira, "We were kind this time and are leaving you with your life. Make better choices next time."
Liberation cause Anathemas are weird for this situation...
Clarius, of Taldor

"I mean, she certainly won't hear if I conk her in the head a couple times," Clarius says to Alexander matter-of-factly as he draws a light hammer from his belt and smacks it into his palm menacingly. "I can't say I'm particularly fond of her at the moment, abusing Arc's trust like she did."
Clarius gives Arc his money back.
"Up to you, though. Just consider the consequences of leaving her able to get free and steal the item again."
Pneuferro
"That's on..." Pneuferro specifically avoids looking at Arc, "...us for flirting on the job."
"We must stick out like a sore lobe to have been found so readily. Well mate, package delivered. Let's continue strike force one-ing."
"Arc"
"Now, hold on," Arc interjects defensively. "Yes, there were intentional attempts at flirting. However, it was being utilized for the mission as well. So...you know...that makes it okay. Also! How was I supposed to know that she was an enemy? Plus!" he adds leveling a finger at Mira, "I protected you from getting bludgeoned! And then you stole from me? Have you no decency?" Arc is clearly worked up and is ranting. "I can watch her as you all chat out of earshot."
TechnoDM
Out of earshot of Arc and Mira, Alexander explains, "I cannot take the package, but I'm supposed to direct you to the next person in the chain. The Li... Ummm. Our organization is set up in cells so that if captured or turned we can only give up the level above us. Additionally, if the Brotherhood has already targeted the package bearer, I'm no match for a direct attack. My skills lie elsewhere."
"The organization you represent still needs to get the package delivered. And I see that you are capable of defending yourselves and the package."
"Please, it's almost night. Unless you want to hole up in one of the tavern's rooms, I can let you know who to contact next."
Grunyer Hearthkeeper
I had planned to type more but never got around to it.
While discussing Mira's fate, "Leave her tied up. I'm sure someone of her abilities can free themselves with enough alone time. I'm not sure any authorities in this town would hear us out over her crimes anyway. Who knows how far this organization she works for can reach." Nodding to Clarius, "Do what you have to do mate."
Out of earshot of Mira, Grunyer considers Alexander's last comment and looks to the sky, noting the darkening color. "Yer right, We should probably find some shelter for the night. So tell us where and who our next destination should be so you can go about your business. It's hard enough protecting ourselves from thieves and assassins, we don't need to watch out for you too if we can help it. I'm sure this night will be... eventful." Grunyer makes a warding sign as though he just invoked bad luck and needs to mitigate it.
Clarius, of Taldor
|
"A night's rest sounds good to me."
I look at Alexander. "We are going to need a lot better information on how to find the next person, based on what we just went through. So far, this has been a nearly-impossible delivery to make. To be frank, I'm tempted to leave it in your hands, unless you're straight with us and give us enough information to guarantee we aren't waylaid by any more Miras in our future."

Alexander gives you directions to the Gorgeous Tulip Inn. "I'll send someone to meet you. Expect the passphrase 'Young Wind God'."
It doesn't take much time to get to the inn. What was originally two houses has been combined into a single structure. Inside, the utilitarian, but well-maintained, furniture all seems to match.
The innkeeper, who introduces himself as 'Alobil', welcomes you theatrically. "Will that be four rooms?"
Grunyer Hearthkeeper
Leaving Alexander
Grunyer grumbles about the situation and all the 'cloak and dagger' shenanigans. "Silly secret passphrases... Sure, we got your words. But don't these things usually have a counter code? What should we tell them so they know it's us?"
At the Gorgeous Tulip
"Hello there Alobil, just a moment. I need to confer with my companions." Looking to the others, "Given that we are apparently targets now, do we want a bigger single room for us so we can watch each other's backs? Maybe keep a watch rotation tonight just in case."
