"We could sound the gong and see what happens."
Female Gnome Paladin 5
"We could... but I would like to see what Ayish is talking about first." Celena looks down the well "Anyone got a rope? she asks
Male Goblin Fighter 1 / Rogue 4
"Nope. Me could try climbing down without one."
Pointing at the door, he says, "Door is very well made an sturdy. Me saw no traps, but no way to open either."
Didn't we find a chime of opening at one point? Does anyone have that?
"The Lady gave us a key. Why not try it in the door first. Otherwise, I do have some rope."
Female Gnome Paladin 5
We already used the Key to get in here.
Male Human Cleric 5
"I agree that we should investigate the well, if there's something unusual about it. I don't want to leave any dangers behind us, if possible. If Vrealk is willing to be lowered down there, I have no objection."
Male Goblin Fighter 1 / Rogue 4
I'm not talking about the key. Didn't we find a chime of opening in the Shrine at the beginning? Or am I thinking of the other LoF I used to be in and just getting confused?
"Markhet thinks that some of the magic we're seeing is to keep the demon in here. Otherwise this one thinks that it would have escaped years ago. Markhet could fly down and have a peek but she would be putting herself in a very vulnerable position because this one can't cast spells when she is in the form of a bird. Oh! Also Markhet can turn into a bird (as well as many other non-flying creatures) now. She thought you should know."
GM
You guys can see the "bottom" of the well easy. With vrealks perception he can easily see it as well as can he see a small gap where the "bottom" and the wall meet, as they do not truly match up. Also you had a chime of opening at one point. I am not sure what you guys did with it to be honest.
Male Human Cleric 5
From last April:
Keeper of Forbidden Lore wrote: Sensing something magical in the filth. N'Djamena digs though the filth uncovering a dirty chime of an aura , he also manages to fine a small silver bowl{no aura} and some loose coins[10 gp worth] I guess I didn't understand what "a dirty chime of an aura" meant at the time. It never made it to the loot distribution phase. Presumably it's in someone's pack, I guess.
GM
Ah, I see I edited out the aura when I posted by mistake :) So, yeah its in someones pack I would guess. In any case it is not required to get past anything in this adventure, but it would have been useful, but not a must have
Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2
Ayish smiles even as she bows her head slightly in humility, glad to have found something possibly useful to/for the party.
While it is not necessary, did Haleena wish to accompany us? I can understand if an extra NPC wold be a burden, but given the background Trait...Just a thought.
Female Gnome Paladin 5
Fairly certain Celena was given the chime to get us into the tomb to get the cold Iron weapons (which we still need to return) so she should still have it on her If Seeker doesn't mind
Celena gives the chime of opening a shot to see if anything happens.
GM
Oh, yeah you did use it there. Pick what you are using it on, you can make a Caster level check to open the door, CL of 11
Male Goblin Fighter 1 / Rogue 4

Vrealk peers down the well. "Me thinks the bottom of the well and the wall do not match up correctly. This makes me think it is really not a well, but a passage down below. Do we try the door with the chime, or head down the well?"
Female Gnome Paladin 5
Celena attempts to use the chime on the floor of the well
Male Human Cleric 5
Celena Ashram wrote: Fairly certain Celena was given the chime to get us into the tomb to get the cold Iron weapons (which we still need to return) so she should still have it on her If Seeker doesn't mind No, we didn't use a chime at the tomb -- Str checks only, FWIW. Searching the thread for "chime" only shows the result from last April. Maybe you guys're thinking of a different LoF game?
GM
I made Celena's roll for her. Also i could have sworn ya used it, maybe I was just thinking ya used the Chime as I knew ya had it. Anyhow y'all knew the chime was magic and have and plenty of time to find out what it does, so I got no issue with you using it here.
Celena uses the chime upon the door, well and floor, but nothing seems to happen. If those places are held by magic maybe the magic is just to strong for the chime.
Female Gnome Paladin 5
"Wonderfull an opening chime that dosent work." She procedes to throw the thing away
Stupid ^&*^* junk then again comparing it to the old one it has been completly nerfed.

Right back at you Bryan! Vrealk is all kinds of fun as well :) Power to the small!
"This would make sense," the gnome says, "if there are two ways down both would need to be protected against this demon."
Markhet casts light on a small stone and drops in into the well.
"Let's see what's down," Markhet says, "not all of us can see as well as friend Vrealk"
GM
The stone falls to the wells bottom with ease, and you can easily see all of the well, however you also see a small half inch a few CM Gap between the walls and the bottom
Male Goblin Fighter 1 / Rogue 4
Seeker, one note - you've got Vrealk's hp listed at 25 and they're actually 35
"Well, I guess me will climb down and see if me can get the well open."
Vrealk hoists himself over the lip of the well, and begins climbing down. He'll take his time (take 10, for a result of 18).
GM
Yeah I lagged behind updating those, sorry
Vrealk can easily get down the well, the bottom is solid, and the gap seems uniform as if the bottom should move, it moves down he would guess as it is to wide to pull up past the gap.
Vrealk would guess the bottom is at lest a foot thick, maybe more.
GM
Just want to point out, no one actually stuck the Gong. It was talked about but never done. Also ya could try smashing the door or the bottom or something of the like
Celena wanted to take a look down the hole first.
Markhet decides to go all "T. Rex", getting it on by banging the gong.
"Markhet wonders what this will do?"
Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2
"Um...I think, perhaps, you should wait..." Ayish suggests to Markhet.
"Markhet wants to get it on, bang this gong, get it on!" the gnome protests, "although this one was never trained in music she thinks she can play this instrument!"
Male Human Cleric 5
If Vrealk has nothing more he wants to do down in the well, then N'Djamena will hoist him up and let Markhet smack the gong all she wants.
Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2
At Marhket's enthusiasm, Ayish laughs an kneels down to show her plucky little friend how one does, indeed, bang a gong. (^_^)
Only showing Marhket, instructing as it were. Letting the Gnome take all the musical glory for herself. (^_~)
Male Goblin Fighter 1 / Rogue 4
Nope, nothing else to do here. Bang away.

GM
Sorry, but sigh, been busy is becoming my all to common excuse of late.
Markhet Bangs the gong happy like a mad gnomish bard and at first nothing happen as the song echos around the room. The with a long grating noise the Door starts to pull into the wall and the wells bottom starts to descend deep into the earth.
All this is secondary however as your attention is drawn to the room around you as flames starts to flicker from the stones seams. They lick the stone and trace patterns upon the surfaces like some kind of flame mortar and as you watch they seem to flow together into forms. Shapes of yellow and orange fire Angelic forms with wings, curved swords and eyes of azure flames.
Two fire angels if that is what they are, sweep the room with their fiery graze and move to deal with the interlopers currently standing within the chamber.

"If they are Saranaes's then hopefully they will listen to me" Celena responds
Her turn she is going to make it clear she is a servant of Saranae and order them to stop
GM
How does she plan to do that?
Female Gnome Paladin 5
Good question. Seems I plain forgot to give her anything identifying her as a servant of Saranae.
Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2
Ayish claps along happily with her friends enthusiasm,
"You have the makings of a Bard in you, friend Markhet." She cheerfully encourages her Gnomish companion. As the echoes of Markhet's rambunctious fun fade away and are replaced by the grinding of stone and then the appearance of the beings of flame, Ayish is sobered.
"Oh dear..." She whispers and stands, preparing to again help her companions.
Also, the Map link seems to be..off..
I'm not getting a link to the map either
"Wow! Markhet's playing was so good she made the earth move and the angels appear! This one thinks she should try a kettle drum next!"
Male Goblin Fighter 1 / Rogue 4
Vrealk grimaces as he realizes he cannot recognize a weak point to strike on the elemental creatures. He backs away, drawing his bow and nocking an arrow as he moves.
Kelden immediatly assumes a ready stance when the gong is struck and he is not dissappointed. At N'Djamena's words he assumes a defensive posture to see how the elementals respond.
Full Defense.
Female Gnome Paladin 5
Celena stands tall (well as tall as a Gnome can be) and addreses the figures "I order you in the name of Saranae to cease and let us pass." She commands them
Show your holy symbol as well if you got one, that's always needed in these types of situations.
As for Markhet, I'd like to see the map before I decided what to do.

I dont think she has one.
Male Human Cleric 5

GM
sorry about the map issue. Celena does not your shield have the symbol of your goddess upon it? I am gonna assume that A: It does because I think you told me it did at some point and B: You have your shield out.
Kalden drops into a pure defensive stance as the Angels come at you. The first moves toward N'Djamerna, striking at the cleric with a sword of flame, N'Djamerna however gets tempest up in time to block the fiery blow.
The second moves toward Celena but when she speaks it stop, The fiery avatar looks to the Gnome and her shield and backs away to stand guard at the newly opened door.
Am also guessing seeing this work she'll try it on the other one.
Seeing the first One back away, Celena turns and proceeds both her challenge and her shield to the first fire angel. It disengages N'Djamerna to stand at the entryway to the room.
Neither makes a move, as long as the shield is up, but as soon as Celena lowers her shield they start to move, only to stop the moment the shield is presented to them once more.
ok here is the map. Although the angels now stand by the doors. One by each.
Female Gnome Paladin 5
"Okay I can't stand here all day so which way?" Celena asks whilst keeping the fire angels at bay.
Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2
Ayish looks to Celena where she holds the temples guards at bay.
"Um, through the door? I don't think I would be good enough to get down the well..." Ayish blushes in embarrassment.
Male Human Cleric 5
"We do have that ring of feather fall, so we could each drop down through the well and pass the ring back up to the next person, assuming we could attach it to a rope or something like that."
"Stand ready while I try to go through the doors." Kelden lowers his weapon and cautiously moves to go through the double doors between the two fiery guardians.
