"Who do you think conspired to kill you?" The idea of the question is to get both his immediate attackers and the parties responsible for sending those attackers. But it could also be a dead end if he has no idea who killed him.

Anytime I have seen this spell in use the phrasing of the questions matter a great deal so that is why I asked.
Asking if he has an idea why he was killed might be worth it, maybe.

So sorry for not posting recently. I have been in a very sleep deprived state due to an infant growing teeth. She is a screamer. four or five hours is not enough for a three day weekend.

Perhaps "What do you think this crimelord hoped to gain by killing you?" May shed more light on just what kinds of sabotage to expect in the future?
Or maybe something for Larur himself, like "how can we help your family?" We can't avenge Larur, but maybe we can make things better for those he's left behind?
I don't think Larur had close family. At least, that's how I'd interpret our visit to his home, which was empty. Anyway, since we've been sitting on this for a while . . .
I feel like we're getting a little bogged down here. DM, if we're barking up the wrong tree, should we move on to our next scene? Or are we potentially going to get something actionable from Larur's spirit?
My turn to apologize. I'm sorry for my extended absence. It's been a helluva week to live in Florida, let's say. Everything's fine now, and believe it or not I have been thinking about possible suggestions for questions while I've been away. But I got bupkis.
I thought of "Is there anyone at the Goblin you can think might have been involved/who might have wanted to kill you?" but I think we're dropping that line of investigation. Even Syeira is getting over her suspicions of Saul.
Then I thought of "What's the last thing you remember?" but... Larur was stabbed in the back, so I don't know how helpful that'll be.
I also liked Orendel's suggestion about asking after his family. He did say he had a daughter and a wife "he was trying to go straight for", or something to that effect, didn't he?

Just popped into a couple campaigns when I had an extra bit of time before cracking down on essays, also, you all posting your locations was somewhat important for this next bit...
My luck with the dice roller has been catastrophic today.
Apparently this campaign's gameplay thread has stopped giving me notification updates. I thought the game had ended because I hadn't seen an update for a month.
Orendel's comment about the die roller really had me scratching my head because I was thinking "there haven't been any posts, what is he talking about?"
I feel your pain. Sometimes various games just do not tell me there is any posts. It freaking sucks. But welcome back!
That's strange. Do you by any chance browse on your phones or tablets? I do, and if I leave a tab with one of my games open long enough, the low memory will eventually force it to refresh, taking away any new notifications I might have seen in the Online Campaigns page.
Either that, or it's a conspiracy started by slow posters to get more prolific writers to stop posting so much. But I wouldn't know anything about that.
I only use a mobile device when I'm traveling out of town. I've heard of one case of this striking another player in a different campaign. Looks like I will just have to check even when I don't get a notification.

Minor announcement!
I will departing on Saturday for a week-long trip to Florida to celebrate my parents' 30th wedding anniversary. As I'll be spending most of that week in various theme parks and such, my internet access will be pretty limited. Please bot Orendel as necessary until I return.

I don't think that one instance would do it. But you could take levels in Barabrian :) It makes sense for the narrative and fits Orendel even if it was excessive by Dougal's standard.
If I were part of the other conversation I would be siding with Syeira and Silvio. Though Dougal is against the heads on posts method. Syeira you wicked woman ;) So devious... I like it.
